Price is dying  Cry
Devs, do you have any plans for promotion?

Yup, we're looking into facebook advertising and sending out a press release or two in the next week.

A great article by cointelegraph Smiley

http://cointelegraph.com/news/111523/mine_curecoins_fold_proteins_cure_cancer

We simply forwarded them the link to this thread, the link showing them the folding power we are all putting together, http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&srt=3
And within hours they had an article written Smiley

That's a tribute to everyone who is working on this project!
They recognized the value immediately Smiley

Wow, this article is actually really well done starting from the content and ending with the graphics  Wink
Whats the next big agenda on the developers list ? Hard to believe that despite so many requests we still dont have a proper block explorer nor a verified mac wallet Huh

We do have a block explorer, and I got my hands on a Mac, so I'll be testing the Mac wallet today Smiley

Folding speed can be changed quite a bit depending on what project was assigned to you, what project # are they running? If they are 13000 WUs, then 8 minutes would be around 130000PPD.

Hmm, looks like it is underestimating your PPD for some reason. What's the CPU load on that box?

It is at 5% - 8% (Intel i7 4770k)

That should be fine... What credit estimates are you seeing in the log?

i need help, newbie here...

i have 6 x GPU R9 280x (4x R9 280x TOXIC + 2x R9 280x MSI Gaming OC) + CPU i7 4770k + 8 GB DDR3 = 400.000 PPD (motherboard is ASRock H81 BTC Pro)

I tried all this steps before:

  • tried with catalyst 14.4 and catalyst 13.12 modded versions
  • switched motherboard BIOS PCI-E from Gen2 to Gen1
  • i let it fold for over an hour to see stabilized numbers on PPD
  • TPF show a range of 6 min - 8 min on all GPUs
  • CPU folding is paused
  • TOXIC clocks are default (1150/1600) and MSI clock default (1020/1500)

i have no clue what else i can try... its suppose the TOXICs should reach 147.000 PPD and the MSIs 110.000 PPD, but im barely reaching 400.000on all 6 x GPUs

Looks like I'm going to need a little help with one of my computers.  Apparently the GPU's in one of my computers are  producing half the expected PPD.  I had mentioned this a few days ago and was going to rebuild it from scratch which I have done.  Then I slowed down the GPU's to avoid WU that were essentially crashing.  Then I let it run for a couple of days and timed it's work units compared to the computers next to it who's GPU's are running at the same speeds and one particular computer is indeed running at half normal speed and I have no idea why.

The hardware is actually identical to five other computers in that room and the GPU's in the others computers are running at twice the speed of the computer in question.  The reporting has been extremely consistent but I am puzzled as to why.  All the computers in that room are running two R9 290X TRIX GPU's and it is only the GPU's that are showing half the speed.  All the computers are using Catalyst 14.4 drivers.

I know many will suspect the GPU's are being bottle necked.  Each machine has a I7 4770K and I'm only using one core to fold and there are only two R9 290X TRIX GPU's in the computer.  CPU utilization is only at 14% and that is consistent across all the computers.  All the other computers are set up the exact same way and don't seem to have an issue.  I've also checked GPU-Z and even though the GPU's are being half as productive as the other GPU's in the other computers they are still showing 100% utilization.

Also I'm using F@H client 7.4.4 on all computers.

Any ideas?

Have you tried switching out the GPUs in that system with the ones in another system?

My rig have 5 GPU 280x. But when i run FAH, GPU1 running at 0% and stuck in that. Do you know how to fix it? Thanks.

What CPU?

Can anyone here confirm lower power usage and heat with F@H as well? I was just reading through the docs. If anyone has like a 7950/7970 that they can compare it to (Scrypt vs F@H) that'd be awesome.

Over at http://curecoinfolding.com/ I did one for a Sapphire Toxic 280x, which is very similar to a 7970. Currently, my rigs run cooler when protein folding, with lower power consumption. I'll benchmark a 7950 and 7970 for you tomorrow.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Earn while you solve cures for Cancer. True 3.0 crypto on: May 19, 2014, 02:35:45 AM
How many Curecoins could someone expect to get off mining with, say a 7950?

We did some calculations earlier in IRC, I'll repeat them here.

If the team makes, say, 230M PPD tomorrow, and your 7950 gets 95K PPD, then you would get 0.04% of the 7488 CUR payout, which would be around 3 CUR. At an exchange price of 0.002, that's around $2.70.

Ok, so I got the F@H client, and in my browser I can see it going good.

How and when do I get CureCoins?

Make sure you are on team 224497, and then sign up at cryptobullionpools.com with the EXACT same username you are using for folding Smiley

Okay, go it! Smiley so I changed my 'identity' and now I am in a Team 224497 (sounds like Borg, lol!)
I also made an account on cryptobullionpools.com

What else? CureCoin wallet?

Yup! You can go grab one from http://3.curecoinmirror.com/Curecoin-Installer.exe Smiley

What PPD are you running at?

I have 5 R9 290s and have been getting between 600 and 705K over the last few days  on the FAHControl. This is averaging me out at around 36 coins/day so far.

I have them overclocked to 1050 ... has anybody overclocked then higher?

I'm hoping it settles down and this rises a bit to more coins per day, but based on current exchange rates it's still more profitable than Scrypt
based coins as long as there is enough liquidity

Anyway, so far so good
I have a 6 core AMD amd 5 x R9 270. For 25 hours I got only 85k points! How is this possible?!

Is your CPU also folding? Make sure it isn't choking your GPUs. What is your TPF (Time Per Frame) for the various projects those cards are working on? Are you seeing high GPU usage? How are the temps? Check the logs for work submissions and Final Credit Estimate.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Earn while you solve cures for Cancer. True 3.0 crypto on: May 18, 2014, 09:08:15 PM
My total went from 1.8 million points to 2.5 million in between last night and this morning (before they payout), yet somehow I only got credited for around 300k.  This has happened for multiple days in a row.  What gives?

Your EOC stats, as well as the stats showing up on both our public and private backends show much lower point values. It would appear that, last frame, you got credited for exactly 354104 points. Today, in the last 18 hours, you have gained 374617 points, as can be seen here: http://stats.curecoinfolding.com/daily.html. On EOC, I'm seeing an average of somewhere around 363-366k points per day for the last 5 days: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=650180.

Actually the IPO funds were released mostly in-full yesterday, except for a few isolated cases. There was the idea floating around to do the "IPO" release slowly, but it seemed the general investor consensus was to just send the coins out in one chunk, and maintain the original plans expressed when the donations were first offered. If you have NOT got your "IPO" coins, please PM me as soon as possible so we can figure out where the broken link is.

I am for finding a way to open CureCoin folding rewards to members of ANY team. People need to understand, some of these teams are very old, very passionate, and very dedicated to their teams and about *volunteering* their *donations* to the fold at home project. Please understand that FAH has been going for 14 years. [H]ardOCP has been doing it since 2000. The EVGA team has been doing it for 7 years. We've been doing it for one week.

We're the bull in the china shop right now, and when you talk about recruiting from other teams, you're talking about destroying other teams that have had to work a thousand times harder than us to accomplish what they have accomplished. That's wrong, and believe it or not - it will drive people in the FAH community away, because we've killed it for them.

Now suppose the value of CureCoin does fall. Will you still be folding? Because that's what many of them are talking about when they talk about us. Cheating. Dropping units in the hunt for higher payouts. That we'll just move on to something else three months from now. The best thing about us, to them, is that we're introducing new people to the Folding@Home program that might just stick around after the tide of CureCoin miners leave.

The reactions to us haven't exactly been brilliant. They're floored, for sure, about the hash-power we've managed to drum up. But we're hurting the huge communities that have been built up by dividing them and forcing them to break ranks and join our team if they want to take part in our coin. If everyone joins our team, what's the point of having teams in the first place. Eh?

No. No recruiting from other teams. And until the devs find a way to include members from *any* team, I would encourage people in other teams to KEEP donating what they can afford to their teams, and to utilize the CureCoin program to facilitate their ability to donate more.

For sure. If people jump teams there's nothing we can do to stop that, but it's certainly not behavior we are encouraging or discouraging, it's simply personal choice. If Curecoin enables people to contribute additional computing power, then that's awesome, but if that is at the cost of what they've been working on for years, and of the communities they built up over the years, then that is destructive.

The main issue I see is what you mentioned, people dropping WUs, and doing questionable things to see higher points. I feel this is a small portion of the community that is doing this, but certainly something concerning none-the-less. In good news, the new oCore that Stanford is working on looks very promising (it is a streaming core, which means no WUs, but rather continuous computation) but is in very early stages of development, so it could be 6 months or a year, or even longer before we see it rolled out. Stanford has not given any type of time estimate, and they want to make sure they have a very polished product when they push it into mainstream.

How much are all existing coins now?
Bump.

Most exist already, they are held in a premined wallet in cold storage. The address was given out on here earlier. There is an excel sheet you can check out in the OP.

From the spreadsheet:

dev coins : 819,935.951128006
investors coins : 541,390
total premine: 1,361,325.95

in BTC at current ask price:

dev coins: BTC 1,557.9
investors: BTC 1,028.641
total: BTC 2,586.541

these numbers, coupled with situation where you mine for 3 days without being able to see anything happening then you get like 50 coins, is why the price is dropping - the economics simply don't add up for miners - there are lot of other innovation coins coming out that dont have premine like this and are normal coins where you can see what you are mining and move around different coins each day like miners do.

I agree a bit about the premine and ipo. Both are large. The dev fund i wouldn't mind so much about since that is for the good of the coin overall. However when i hear they won't even fund a logo bounty that is kind of worrying. 819,000 coins and want the community to fund the logo?

The ipo again quite high considering the payout. However they did take a risk.

However even combined this is only 5% this coin is a saint compared to some of these coins. I mean the other decent coins with coders that do some work were either instamined to hell or entire minting given to 70people. So although both coins are good the distribution will be way worse than cure coin.

I think the devs need to start putting more effort in with marketing though. This coins should be the biggest thing on the board right now.

I kind of agree diet is probably just as important if not more important that current treatments with regard cancer. However i am hopeful that in the future there will be something highly effective developed. Even now i guess we are helping with research into other illness too. Scientific research i think is better use of hardware than we had before.

This is a great idea but could have been implemented a little better.

I think paying out the ipo and devs over a longer period of time is good.

We really need more folders would be good to see up moving to the top 10 folding teams on that list really soon.

We didn't officially fund the logo because we already have a logo (which we funded the development of), and the development of a new logo was requested by community members. However, I would like to point out that 80% of the logo pot currently pledged was from my personal coins, so we are supporting community wishes.

As for advertising, it's certainly it's certainly important, any specific suggestions?

do your research somewhere other than the Cinni thread. Like i said, most everything important gets deleted. You will see many posts screaming price rise, so be careful.

To clarify for anyone interested, we are not involved at all in the Cinnicoin project.
