Why are there two Junes? Shouldn't the second one be July?

323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | PR Firm on: June 10, 2015, 01:12:46 PM
... All the vets with 2 or more years IN THE CRYPTO-WORLD simply don't believe this grass root BS. It takes money to develop. Nobody is going to review because the truth is, nobody cares. I care, that's why I am trolling. How sad is that?

There are plenty of us vets in support of this tech.

Where can i read about "PR Firm" ?

This is the firm used in the recent push http://bitcoinprbuzz.com/

I saw an interesting thread on reddit about Gregory Maxwell's "confidential transactions" released in the new Sidechains Elements release: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/394k1t/petertoddbtc_gregory_maxwells_confidental/

You can see an overview of it here: https://people.xiph.org/~greg/confidential_values.txt

I guess it works to mask values to help gain more privacy.  When combined with other systems like coinjoin it makes it much more private and anonymous.  I wonder if this could also be implemented in the Shadow Project at some point as well.

I've been following this too Pline. The thing with gmaxwell's research is it revolves around sidechains which are inherently insecure. It's one core dev's solid, logical pursuit to better anonymity. However, Shadow doesn't need to implement it into our project at all. We have a kickass totally 100% confidential transaction system already!

Lastly, I challenge anyone to find me a more rock solid, steady growth chart over the past year better than Shadow Project.

Best Nolan movie has to be Momento. Made pre-2010 (2000), but if you've seen all of his nothing matches the brilliance of this film.

Hello Via community, if we need additional full nodes we can fund them easy via Bitnodes.

Wouldn't ClearingHouse be a perfect avenue for funding stuff?
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Dogeparty, Counterparty for the Dogecoin blockchain! (official) on: June 08, 2015, 04:21:08 PM
It would have been better if the devs followed through with their promises and integrated more features from the Counterparty model they were trying to copy, but they gave up and sold out during peak prices, so its safe to say this was just another scamcoin.

uhh really? I thought that it was somehow developed by Hive team so I pretty much trust them..such disappointing here, because I wish them luck.( omg..

Humint and Hive team members created this. Early on it was stated they wanted it for their projects. To date nothing has come from that. Has it been a year yet?
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: June 08, 2015, 04:16:42 PM
The example open-source CCE 4.0 explorer using a POS chain is now up using HyperStake at: http://openhyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com

For everyday use, please use the main HyperStake CCE explorer at: http://hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com. The openhyp explorer serves as an example of the open source version of CCE 4.0

This version of the explorer has not been pushed to the repository yet. (Git is located at: https://github.com/cryptocoinexplorer/Open-Source-CCE-4.0 )

The major difference in this latest version is the transaction table on the block pages. Generating that table is harder then most people think. The code I have been using since CCE 3.0 works very well and is largely unchanged though CCE 3.99. However, it is very Rube Goldberg, and does not really follow good programming practices. I most certainly would not show that code to the public.  Grin  It is one of those unusual situations where odd code just worked better.

It has taken me a bit, but I have rewritten it with more standard programming practices. It is actually a bit longer and encompasses two functions for readability.

Once I release this version to the repository, I am going to make an official thread for open-source CCE 4.0 instead of posting in multiple threads as I do now.

I would like to hear what you think about removing links to the POS coin base transaction. This is the first transaction in the block and it acts as a placeholder of sorts where a POW block would generate coins as POS blocks generate coins in the second transaction. It is basically an empty transaction and as far I can tell holds no real useful information.

Very nice!

Unrelated to this explorer, we have a number of Peers on the network running some old clients. Not a big deal I'm sure... maybe they don't like skinning their gui Wink
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: June 05, 2015, 01:25:33 PM
I think most investors are concerned more with what it means for them in BTC terms. My 18 blocks of 4000 on Day 11 are now showing estimated payouts between 38-45 days, which is a big improvement from the 70+ on Day 1.

If that continues to drop I will be happy, but even so on today's figures, 1000 paid out on a 4000 stake is a 25% payout on an 8 weeks total stake period. Quite a good return. All my blocks are still showing "high" and not "highest", so I'm really in uncharted waters at this time - normally with my other POS coins I would be well into "highest" by now. That tells me that there are a lot of large blocks out there, probably in the 30,000+ range.

Maybe there is a case for putting a weight cap on very large coin blocks e.g. over 20,000. That could be good for the network and the security of the coin.

And blocks over 30 days stop earning weight. My guesstimate is that your 4k blocks will hit around 250,000 weight or less each. I don't believe I've had any over 300k weight before.

Interesting point of view on weight cap for large blocks.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XDN] DarkNote. Anonymous 100% PoW CPU+Untraceable Crypto Messages+GUI Client! on: June 04, 2015, 06:45:37 PM
We've had two crazy weeks, with lots getting planned and accomplished. The capitalization of Darknote now stands at around $1.2 million, having more than doubled since we set off on our mission. With the XDN foundation website now launched (http://xdnfoundation.org/), three new team members brought on-board, and the XDN market study accomplished – we are moving on to the next important stage of our plan.

Today, I am happy to announce the start of the XDN crowdfunding campaign. More information about the campaign can be found by visiting the following link: http://xdnfoundation.org/fundraising.

To facilitate XDN Foundation’s crowdfunding round we carried out a study to learn more about the XDN market, and the stakeholders’ preferences. We did a survey of a sample of XDN holders and received an overwhelming response. The fact that most of the replies were very positive indicates that our mission is being received well by the XDN community, and we are very grateful for this.

The results of our research are quite conclusive, showing that the community of XDN holders is both large and active. However, we felt it was difficult, and somewhat inappropriate, to narrow down the numbers of  possible XDN holders too much, so we have decided to indicate only the estimated boundaries of the community size – from 10k to 100k.

We also concluded that the average stake of the XDN holders is around 1-2 million in Darknotes. The holders with above the average stakes are in possession of around 2-5 million of Darknotes. There are however also some holders, who are in possession of staggering 100 million or more of Darknotes.

This survey gave us some very positive feedback and strengthened our confidence about the success of our mission. It also helped us set our financial goals for the campaign – 50 million Darknotes. With such support from the community, I am confident that we will achieve this goal. The campaign will last until Thursday, the 9th of June 2015.

To uphold the credibility of our crowdfunding campaign we will post screenshots of all the donations dropping into the wallet. We will make sure that the community drives both this process, and the future development of the XDN Foundation.

Join us and let’s make history together!

The dev team should port OpenAlias into the code so you can make your donation addresses more userfriendly like

Hey everyone!

I am proud to announce that our brand new and official website is live for VIRAL, both sponsors and potential nodes now have a new home!

Check it out at http://www.GetViralCoin.com

I've been spending some time wordsmithing "followers" to figure out some better terms but haven't come up with something yet. With VIRAL being a new innovation on native marketing and with us eventually breaching out to other social media platforms it makes sense for us to rethink the terms were using for both the nodes and their followers. When we show our followers have grown 200% in 2 weeks I think it's confusing because we don't have a traditional Twitter account with said followed count. We have 3 unique participants in Viral versus a typical Twitter account. Sponsor, Node, Follower.

Sponsor makes sense. I think node could change to a synonym of representatives. And followers could maybe be a take on leads or something.

Just thinking out loud as I read through the website imagining first-time impressions and marketability.

It would be great to get the 2 tokens from ShadowCash on this. Currently you can trade the public token SDC many places but there is no place to trade the 100% anonymous SDT Shadow Token. That would be so cool to link other coins (BTC, LTC, DOGE) to that tech using Mercury!
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | PR Firm on: June 03, 2015, 06:11:18 PM

I'm sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear enough, and that has led to a misunderstanding. It is not my website used to control and access your wallet. The wallet is completely on the StakeBox, and the webpage interface is served from an apache server on the device, only accessible on your local network. Once you have it, you have complete control over all aspects of it, I am not hosting the website used to interface with it, and, as I said, the website is just to make life easier for the end user, the wallet can also be used in the traditional fashion with the inclusion of a keyboard, mouse and monitor. I appreciate your feedback, if you have any other questions or concerns, please, let me know.

It would be AWESOME if you could do a "Raspberry Install Guide" on the Wiki for those of us wanting to stake on a Pi without purchasing a completed one already! http://shadowcash.info/

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge coin [Community take over] on: June 03, 2015, 01:48:09 PM
can someone tell me what version wallet we are using?

Bump.

And can someone clarify the masternode situation? It sounds like on a certain day the folks running the masternode version of the wallet will fork from the others not using that version of the wallet. Is this 100% true?

Which version is the "community owned" wallet that will continue to be developed moving forward?
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | PR Firm on: June 03, 2015, 01:43:09 PM
Is it true ShadowCoin only gives 2% PoS annualy?

Because according to my calculations I should be earning less SDC then I am right now  Grin

I also noticed the network weight is pretty low: 584014.

This means only 584k coins is staking right? Am I on the correct chain? Up to block 481603 ATM.

Looks like you are on correct chain. 481610 ATM for me.

I'm not sure if the 584014 network weight directly ties to coin numbers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my personal weight never matches the coins I'm staking or the coins in my wallet.

I do think a lot of the coins are on the exchanges and not staking so I've also noticed a better than 2% APR staking for the last couple months. My weight is currently 5% of total network weight but I don't have 5% of total coins. That makes me think I'm getting lucky at greater frequency than the 2% APR number is calculated on... simply because a lot of the wallets aren't staking.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: June 03, 2015, 01:36:20 PM
Mmm. I'll stake for a month with 25 10k blocks and see how it goes.
Can i expect to make atleast 25-30%?

25 * 10k = 250,000 HYP will yield at the most 25,000 HYP (9 +/- 6 days stake) + 27,500 HYP (9 +/- 6 days stake) = 52,500 HYP
52,500 HYP / 250,000 HYP= ~21% increase in 30 days.

25 * 10k = 250,000 HYP will yield at the least 25,000 HYP (9 +/- 21 days stake)  = 25,000 HYP
25,000 HYP / 250,000  HYP= ~10% increase in 30 days.

It's a lottery so it's better to have more tickets.

I like this analogy!
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: June 02, 2015, 05:20:18 PM
I have my main wallet with blocks of ~8000-12000.  I have ~1.8million HYP and tend to average 4-12 stakes per day (so pile grows by 4-12,000HYP/day in a linear fashion) though last few days have been painfully below average  Embarrassed

I have just set up another wallet with all blocks at 3000 for fun to see how it compares.  With my world famous luck this was likely a bad idea  Cheesy.

It'll be a good experiment and I'm sure it won't be that bad an idea... you just may not have comparable data until 3 months from now Wink

I just looked at my stake history with 3-6k block ranges and I'm staking between 16-20 stakes per day (95% are full 1000 HYP). Your experiment won't throw you off too bad and it'll be interesting to see the results!

Side note: I haven't noticed a reduction in blocks due to difficulty. I wonder if it affects larger blocks more than smaller blocks?
