I had to merit this, I'm sorry. I know it is a waste of 1 sMerit, but please actmyname, give that 0.5 sMerit you have received through this to someone who needs it.
I trust you to select the right person.
482  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Neues Forum Ranking System / Merit System (FAQ) - Was denkt ihr? on: January 27, 2018, 08:53:00 PM

Its just a proof you small "lender group" have a clearly ego issue who are abusing the trust system.
TBalls, you doing loans? Haven't seen you give one, you're too tight a cunt for that.
I havent been giving any in over 2 years either, haven't even really started with it before I had enough.

So neither you or I are lenders, now where's that group everyone is talking about?
That background noise is always saying you and talks like we do something, but...I didnt. What did you do again?
484  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 08:01:42 PM
Looks like other serious people also claim you guys abused the trust system
I'm mellow with Og and last I checked Og was mellow with me.
If they aren't, that's too bad, but nothing I can change about that.

Way to pull out 2 year old logs that should remain burried in order to stirr some shit, though.
Next time, try something that isn't resolved/ancient.
485  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 07:51:16 PM
so if you ask to get me banned maybe first ask to get yourself banned for giving negativ feedback for unoffical non enforced rules
I didn't even give you feedback. I simply disagreed with your post, which was enough for you to go on this...rant.

Will see how you guys will change quickly your minds once you will get 50 negativ feedbacks from random people for breaking their own unoffical rule
Nobody will, your feedback doesnt matter. At best, it's an annoyance. But those can be ignored. As might your posts be by many.
The biggest impact you will have is...well, yeah...
486  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2018, 07:41:48 PM
Same reason why <-- this guy has them.
He's in the legendary window, theymos added 500 merit for all heroes that could possibly already be a legendary based on the start of the window.

I decided that the previous allocation was too unfair in this area, so everyone with activity >= 775 got 500 more merit if they didn't already have 1000 merit (and also Lutpin). No extra sMerit, though.
487  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Neues Forum Ranking System / Merit System (FAQ) - Was denkt ihr? on: January 27, 2018, 07:40:20 PM
Klingt cool? Finde ich auch, ich freu mich schon.
488  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 07:32:50 PM
You can expect to get tomorrow 50 negativ feedbacks for breaking my inoffical not enforced rule
Knock yourself out. 50 negs for disagreeing on a post, that's a new one. I'm sure theymos will have a nice place on the trust spam banlist for you.
It's proven btw, you should have lookeded that up before posting.
489  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2018, 07:17:52 PM
Now tell me, why is this "advice" 4x more valuable than me working for an hour+ ? Why did this even get Merited in the first place? (no offence)
You have to realize that time spent doesn't necessarily correlate with quality. While I am not necessarily saying that your infographic was poor, people may have found it somewhat less helpful than the advice on how to easily open the merit page.
You also have to understand that your post was in the middle of a megathread that is increasing by several pages by the day, and the other post is on the front page of such thread and easy to find.
You forget one major difference: It's a post in a local sub. People that dont speak German dont know what youre saying, they don't know what your infographic says.
The possible users to give you merit thus are limited. I'd expect local posts to get merit slower, but maybe not less than english threads, the difference is simply exposure.

FWIW I merited that post right after I saw it (yesterday), not because I need the infographic, but because I can appreciate the time being spent on creating one.
490  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 07:10:48 PM
Sorry, all I could understand was someone being butthurt and a few insults.
If you want to further pursue this discussion, start a reputation thread about your rating.

I'll leave you one thing, though:
[EDU] The Rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" - IGNORE AT YOUR OWN RISK! (sticky thread, thus sanctioned by moderation)

Due to scams a "rule" has been created which, while not currently "enforced", is basically a minimum requirement to get a loan. Note that this isn't an official forum rule, it's just a rule that most lenders will follow.

The rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" means that in order to get a loan you must give collateral that is equal, or preferably higher to the amount you are being loaned.

If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.
491  Other / Meta / Re: DeMerit? Suggestion: Terminations. on: January 27, 2018, 07:03:27 PM
I get what you're saying but I think you know quite well that with all the current tools in place - Patrol page, reporting to mods, Meta, etc - there are still shithole sections of this forum where anything goes. Altcoin threads for example. I can't see how adding one more thing to patrol is going to help.
Two more things quickly come to mind, ponzi scams being pushed into the IBG section instead of being outright deleted (yes I know, that is forum moderation policy and I have to accept that),
or the gambling discussion sub (which I partly suggested myself, but I'm not so sure about it's benefits anymore).

I think the moderators of those mentioned sections are doing a good job given what they have face on a day to day basis, so dont misunderstand this as me blaming them directly for the state of certain subs or sub-child.
mprep especially, I imagine has to have quite some patience and nerves to keep the upper hand on all the altcoin stuff going down. I've got mad respect for that.
492  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced merit UI [1.0] on: January 27, 2018, 06:47:38 PM
Great script grue, thanks!

Just a little thing though, when I tried installing and using the script it would tell me 'Failed to give merit' whenever I tried to reward it. I found that this was a session error due to how you get 'sc'.
I've made a small fix here (on lines 12-14), which works for me currently:
Code:
  //get csrf token
  var sc = $('input[name="sc"][type="hidden"]').val();
  sc = (!sc ? ($('a[onclick]')[1].href).split('sesc=')[1] : sc);
Getting the same error, great you already spotted and fixed it Smiley
Also, very well done grue, the extra page to open when giving merit was one of the most criticized aspect of this change.
Thanks!
493  Other / Meta / Re: DeMerit? Suggestion: Terminations. on: January 27, 2018, 04:25:27 PM
I'm worried that a centralized approach (via staff or select "militia") isn't gonna solve the problem and/or create some inefficient extra layer, like the Scam Accusations. Some parts of the forum are already pretty much unmoderated, unchecked by DT, and will likely have rampant merit abuse because nobody of the 20 or 50 "militia" users will ever set foot there.
Theymos already created a page that is de facto a merit patroller page.
It's the Top-merited recent replies/TMR topics statistics page.
A merit patroller doesn't have to browse all sections, they can browse this lists (although they could be made a bit more easily browsable (again, the comparison to the Patrol page comes to mind).
When they spot something that is out of the ordinary, they can read those posts in context of their respective threads/sections.
Should they think something is wrong there, they start investigating and conducting other patrollers for their opinion, then eventually take action.
494  Other / Meta / Re: Members screwed by Merit, sign here for fix. on: January 27, 2018, 04:15:37 PM
966 activity and no legendary member? I was screwed by the activity system.
I will gladly sign your...oh, what do you say? Wrong system? So the abuse will continue. How far, I ask. Bitcointalk, how far?

495  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 04:09:19 PM
There is no forum rule asking for colleteral
There is no forum rule against scamming either, you still don't do it.
Community rules add limits where the forum can't. One rule the community agrees on (it's even in the lending guidlines and stickied in the section) is the collateral rule.
You may disagree with that, but a majority of users does not, there is consensus for this rule.

Its allowed according to forum rules to buy accounts.I don't need to act like your stupid ego tells you
Again, forum rules and community rules. The first part are the rules the forum makes (those that can get you banned). They might allow it.
The second part are the rules that the community agrees on (those that you eg can get negative trust for).
Account sales are frowned upon and it's likely for you to get either neutral of negative feedback when you are participating in them.
You may dislike this, I may even disagree with this, but that's the community consensus.

I'm in crypto since 2012 and don't need to scam people by giving loans for such high interrest rate.
You losers should first educate yourself. I made a copy of all your listed loans and will forward it soon to your tax department.

I havent been lending since early 2016, gains that were made have been reported should they fall under any taxable event.
You don't need to worry about how I tax my crypto, that's for my CPA and tax office to determine.
496  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 27, 2018, 04:02:03 PM
But it becomes much harder for members in small local community to make their rank up.
Yes and no. In a smaller community, less sMerit is available, but there are also less posts competing for Merit.
As long as sources are present in all local sections, size should not be an issue. Maybe competition is even so much lower in smaller groups that merit is actually easier to get.

I usually don't frequent my local section (discussing bitcoin and related topics in english give me the ability to communicate with almost everyone across the globe,
discussing them only with a few that happen to speak my language limit this greatly), but I've been browsing it over the last day and have rewarded a portion of my merit to local posters.
497  Other / Meta / Re: How the Developers of Bitcointalk earn from the forum? on: January 27, 2018, 03:08:43 PM
You were talking about developers, there are some mods that are/have been also developer here (IIRC).
I've assumed they were talking about the people working on epochtalk (that's where the actual development is taking place, slowly).
Moderators/Staff and Developers are two different pair of shoes, although a single person can be in either of those groups (or in both), they souldn't be mixed up.

At the end of the day it's just a forum, there is not any type of salary or "contract" between the moderators and bitcointalk.org
It's a pretty big forum nowadays and servers need to be paid. Then there's overhead like cloudflare and similar stuff.
On the other hand, the forum has a lot of reserves which are worth big amounts nowadays and the popularity of ICOs keeps the ad auctions going for big money.
498  Other / Meta / Re: How the Developers of Bitcointalk earn from the forum? on: January 27, 2018, 02:58:16 PM
Donations (the button right next to your profile button in the header) were keeping the forum alive in the first time.
Nowadays, most of the income the forum makes comes from the ad-auctions (forum ads shown between the first and second reply on each site).
Also, there's paid memberships (the copper members), but I suspect that only makes for a very small part.

tl;dr: Forum advertisements. No signature campaigns.
499  Other / Meta / Re: Can we just stop creating new threads about merits? on: January 27, 2018, 02:55:02 PM
You do realise the irony in this, don't you?
Oh, point it out, please.
500  Other / Meta / Re: Will Trust System become obsolete? on: January 27, 2018, 02:13:34 PM
You clearly have an ego issue or maybe even mental issues. You are adding negativ trust calling people scammers who simply asked for a small loan without colleteral.
Rule #1 of lending is, no collateral no loan. Can't you even follow rule 1?

Myself i got a negativ feedback from you asshole for buying an account for a customer so he can publish pictures on this board.
Buy a copper membership instead. That way you can use your actual account and not a purchased one.
The money goes to the forum you are using for promotion, not some account farmer in *insert random country here*.
Farming doesnt get rewarded and everyone benefits.

You are clearly abusing that system and you should be banned from this forum ASAP
You should learn a bit more. Keep asking questions, get answers.
Soon, you'll have the hang of how things are going.
