1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has Anyone Heard of Gildebitinvest? on: April 11, 2022, 10:33:47 AM
Thanks for the info it is most appreciated. I thought it was dodgy but need to see what others felt.

I believe that you wanted to type Glidebitinvest[1]. If that was the case I fear that your friend was scammed and there is no way to recover the deposited funds (I say funds because I highly doubt that your friend has any BTC in her account - most likely they just added some digits to her BTC balance to "trick" her). The layout of the website is very similar to a set of websites that I've previously highlighted[2] as being scams due - but not limited - to advertising impossible returns in a very short period of time:

Scam. I've just did a really quick google search and here's what I've found:

There are a couple of websites that have the exact same content, they only change the name of the "company":

Almost all of them share ridiculous gains regarding crypto. Here's an example : If you deposited $5,000,000 you would get 17 % after just 48 hours. Do you realize how unsustainable that is? If you get around this percentage in two days, and if we assume we're dealing with top notch investors, we'll be looking at 510% profit at the end of the month (17% x 30 days) - again, not sustainable.

After seeing those shady plans made just to entice new people into falling in the scheme I didn't looked for any further for evidences regarding if they are legit or not - The only persons that are going to win money with these are/is whoever is running these couple of websites. The photoshop of the front of the building is also lame as a sheep.

OP - I hope you haven't put a lot of money into this, truth is you'll probably never be able to withdraw it. I would stop any kind of communication / deposit with any of these companies ASAP.

There are a ton of websites just like these OP and even though I've reported each one of them at the time it wasn't enough to make the domain owner shut down the website. If your friend is stuck in the infinite KYC/AML procedures or in the likely event that they keep asking her to send money to them so that they can "unlock" her balance, just tell her to stop whatever she is doing and assume the loss. Just look at their "Terms and Conditions" page[3] - it seems that it was written in a rush (and still manages to be pretentious) as it only states the following:
Quote
Glidebitinvest is totally different from its competitors trying to achieve something special starting with the website design, trading platform, and extremely functional. Since first beginning a few years ago, Glidebitinvest has created a name for itself between traders. The broker is magnificent for traders because of its solid mining /trading platform and a diversity of assets to invest/trade.

I believe it is rge same I found on Google as well. She is looking for past emails to show me.

What exactly is the website name I could find on Google or the keyword is wrong?
Google suggested me this glidebitinvest.com but it seems the site is an investment site and it was registered in August 2021.

Also, notice it doesn't have a secured SSL or https://
So if that is the right domain name then your friend is being scammed.

It is a bit sketchy what she has told me but hopefully the emails she has will either confirm its a scam or they have some weird procedures in their organisation.

It's scam

If you or your friend sends Bitcoins to such a website to invest for you while you are "sleeping" then chances are almost 100% that you will never get the money back.

They even forgot to edit out www.blockchestcapitals.com, another likely scam website that's now offline under the general questions

A friend has asked me to find out about this 'organisation' as she has Bitcoins in her account but it wont let her take it out?

Thanks for any info in advance.

Live Streaming Topics

This time last year we were on the road to creating a cool conference on crypto currency and block chain technology.

Now, due to unsure markets, venue gazumping and other unfortunate circumstances we are scrambling to organise anything remotely equivalent to last years #BitBrum. However, there is an alternative way of doing a mass meeting by using technology and keeping it free. - Live Streaming.

At the next meetup there will be a list of venues that could fit the bill but obviously the most important element would be content. It is something we have done before, so we need ideas and preferably fresh ideas.

EOS, Tether and Other Blockchain Concepts

There are new ways of getting involved in crypto currency. A lot of it is bewildering and complicated, therefore Alan, a staunch member of the group will be giving a seminar about the latest development. Please be aware that with the latest news the agenda may well be fluid.

There will also be news about #BitBrum.

CoinFest 2018 De-Brief sponsored by Knavecoin

Thursday‎, ‎April‎ ‎19‎, ‎2018
‎7‎:‎00‎ ‎PM to ‎11‎:‎00‎ ‎PM

All the news, tales, deals, trades, video, and gossip from Manchester.

Plus

Updates on the direction of the group since it is patently clear that some members are more interested in trading/investing questions and need room to develop strategies with other interested parties. The idea of another once a month meeting has been floated for some time and finally needs addressing.

Also

Having meetings in other areas and linking up with other groups within the Midlands and beyond as the rush of ideas about the future of crypto currency and blockchain technology grow more fervent.

Free snacks will be available at the meeting as it is Knavecoins 4th Birthday and it has been a rocky road in the great experiment in creating an artistic coin for the masses and not just the few.

Also, views and opinion on what www.bitcoinhelpdesk.co.uk should have as a goal?

We will be looking the situation to see if August 1st hoopla was what it was.

Will it be confusing or enlightening, socially acceptable or an economic pariah equivalent to the Lehman's Day 2008?

Also, there will be updates about #BitBrum conference 2017.

Segregated Witness has become very controversial. Due to the UASF the 1st of August 2017 will either be the day that makes Bitcoin go over ground or become the spawn of the devil in which a group of investors take over Bitcoin and everything associated.

So this meetup is an analysis by us to find out what may happen and how we as users can legislate for it's impact.

* A debrief session on the groups recent visit to Coinfest in Manchester which was very good.

* A discussion on creating a Bitcoin conference in Birmingham, which we clearly need.

* A bit of a chat about where bitcoin is going, and what the future might hold - particularly about the block size debate and what effect (if any) this might have on price, protocol and mining. I will be charging for this Meetup but if you want to come without paying that is cool as this is just a technical issue.
