1361  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tracking BTC transfers on: March 23, 2022, 02:54:10 PM
I send a lot of transfers in BTC from my wallet and want to start tracking these payments by writing personalised notes on where the transaction came from or to as well as other information about the sender or receiver.

Does anyone know a good app for this?
In addition to what other users have commented about Electrum, it also comes with the ability to export your transaction history in both CSV and JSON formats [the latter gives more information] and after that, you can easily add notes to any of its parts:

  • Wallet tab > History > Export > Choose between CSV or JSON > Export
    - If you're not one of its users, just create a watch-only wallet > Wait for it to sync [depending on your history, it might take a few minutes] > Do the above steps.
1362  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling New, Used, Refurbished Asic miner on: March 23, 2022, 05:29:55 AM
We own mining farm and a warehouse for testing and repairing.
Out of curiosity, are these also located in "Shenzhen [especially the mining farm]"?
- I'm asking because of the issues surrounding its legality.

We got many miners in stock.
You'd have a better chance of finding potential buyers if you include some sort of proof for those...
- Posting guidelines for physical goods
1363  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: btcminingmachine.com Review For SCAM - BEWARE OF THIS WEBSITE on: March 22, 2022, 08:00:42 PM
btcminingmachine.com is a SCAM website

This website is in the process of launching and the aim of the creators is to scam people!
You might want to add a bit more information than that...

PS: I'm sure I've seen that logo on another scamming website, probably they are the same scammers!
You're right... It's a popular stock logo [e.g. #1, #2 and in a lot of other places] and I've also seen that in various crypto mining-related websites and blogs.
1364  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor + Electrum Server on: March 22, 2022, 05:14:45 PM
I have problems using EPS.
Server is listening, when I connect using electrum ( --server 127.0.0.1:50002:s) I have no problems, but Trezor Suite cannot connect. Or it can, but does no show any funds - never-ending spinning green circle (with disabled TOR - when it is enables I receive connection error).
Were you using a wallet with a passphrase by any chance? Someone reported a slightly similar issue on Github prior to its release: Eliminate the risk of getting stuck when loading a hidden wallet

There are two format options to choose Trezor and Electrum, making it compatible with Electrum wallet.

The signing part it's flawless, but I keep getting the following error whenever I'm trying to verify a message [Native SegWit] that I signed on Electrum [4.2]:

Btw, they've made a dedicated blog post about "Connecting your wallet to a full node" and on the very last paragraph, I think there's a hint that they might support Bitcoin Core in the future!
1365  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor T is 4 years old. 50% discount on accessories in the official shop on: March 22, 2022, 02:46:11 PM
Unfortunately, there are no discounts on the Model T.
They "tweeted" back in July of last year that there'll be a promotion [similar to what they did for the Trezor Model One] on its 7th year anniversary [credit goes to @dkbit98].
- I could wait for roughly 3 more years Grin

- The special offer is available until 28 March. Let's see what it entails:

Not sure if you were logged in or not, but the prices I'm "currently seeing" are slightly less.
1366  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blinkhash - Open-source, easy to use, mining pool software on: March 22, 2022, 01:33:56 PM
gutting pretty much all of the extra/unnecessary features (coin-switching,
Out of curiosity, why do you think this particular feature is unnecessary? I'm not a back-end coder by any means, but AFAIK, it'd be more profitable for the miners if that feature existed [unless I missed something].
1367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If this was real!! 😆 on: March 22, 2022, 11:06:11 AM
You can try to unsubscribe from these promo emails by clicking the link (you will usually find it at the end of the message) if you get annoyed by them.
Sorry sir there is no unsubscribe link.
Even if there was a way to unsubscribe to these things, such actions from the recipient would actually confirm that their email is an active one [it just makes it worse]!

Using a custom domain makes this far easier as you wouldn't need to register a new email account every time I change addresses.
You have a point, but that also means you have to pay for the domain [IMO, throwaway emails (already mentioned by a few users) are slightly better].
1368  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: elitesminers.com Review For SCAM - BEWARE OF THIS WEBSITE on: March 21, 2022, 08:36:20 AM
elitesminers.com is a SCAM website
You forgot to "archive" it Wink

This website looks just like a clone of jetminers.com
IIRC, jetminers is also a clone, but regardless of that, I found another similar website that currently has a fake promo [buy 4, get 1 free]:

1369  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bloomberg: Gcash Considers Cryptocurrency Trading and Stocks Platform on: March 21, 2022, 06:30:02 AM
Update:

Just noticed na nag tweet sila kahapon about directly supporting crypto sa e-wallet nila:

AFAICS, medyo outdated pa ang "list ng services" nila, so it'd be nice to see a confirmation from a GCash e-wallet user!
1370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The House of Nakamoto: A Bitcoin store in Vienna, Austria on: March 20, 2022, 08:56:38 AM
If you want to buy or sell Bitcoin in store I wonder do you require identification?
Judging by the "limits section on this page", the BTM that they're using on that store doesn't ask anything if you're buying/selling BTCitcoin for less than €250.

As Lucius posted about being careful about a physical attack from being in the store,
I guess it would be the same as coming from a bank.
In addition to @Lucius's comment, there's also the possibility of kidnapping you and bringing you to an unknown location for the interrogation part.
1371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The House of Nakamoto: A Bitcoin store in Vienna, Austria on: March 19, 2022, 07:34:19 PM
The main difference with any other exchange is that they have real people there talking to the people interested in Bitcoin.
And it's not just about the things that might benefit the store in question... I found a video that "in the background, you can hear they're talking about mining-related stuff", even though they're not selling any rigs [AFAICS] Smiley

I hope they can have branches in many parts of the globe where such a business can be allowed to operate.
Not sure why they haven't included the location of their other branch on their website, but they do have a branch in Amsterdam as well [tweet #1 and #2].
1372  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New project on cryptocurrency Information on: March 19, 2022, 04:05:14 PM
It seems that you need to fine-tune a lot of things on your website:

I couldn't check the other parts due to your website becoming inaccessible!
1373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forum boards and moderators. on: March 19, 2022, 11:56:26 AM
i'm wondering how those users who are moderators became one.
This is what theymos said at the end of 2019: See how theymos mentions report "history", as opposed to "report count"! In other words, the type of reports really matters [a few accurate "complicated" reports probably have more weight than a hundred accurate "simple" reports].

  • Report history is the most important consideration for a moderator candidate. Over the forum's many years, relatively "newbie" members with good report histories have consistently done much better as mods than veteran, well-respected members with poor report histories. That said, not all reports are equal, so a simple report count doesn't tell the whole story. Also, in addition to report histories, it's necessary to consider factors such as the ability of the candidate to be neutral, their trustworthiness, etc. It's also nice to choose a moderator who people generally already trust/respect, but sometimes this is outweighed by other factors.

If a poll is created, I will not completely ignore the results, but I will also not use it as a primary influence. I'm more interested in arguments people have for or against certain candidates.
1374  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can HW manufacturers get user info through their apps? on: March 19, 2022, 10:03:25 AM
Could you remind me of this?
Usually, when they contradict, they try to hide from us or deceive something.
I commented about it in one of my posts before, but I had no luck in finding it [it was probably from late last year]... Actually the latter is exactly what they did on that occasion [they silently altered the content of their earlier statement], so perhaps the way I described it yesterday [contradicting part], it's not an accurate representation of the situation in question, but regardless of that, they tend to do stuff like that from time to time.
- If I find that post, I'll update this one...

Although, as always, there are other options.
As I said before, the world is not limited to these two manufacturers.  What other HW manufacturers have their own app?
I agree with @Pmalek's comment in the above post.

Update:
- Found it [they kept shipping faulty products for a few more weeks or a month after the removal of that paraghraph]!
1375  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor + Electrum Server on: March 18, 2022, 09:13:28 PM
I haven't tried this yet, but I would like to hear some feedback from anyone who did since this is still a beta feature.
Same here [my node is a few weeks behind and my internet has been acting up since yesterday], but I did manage to find a "user" who reported a bug on someone else's thread about a slightly different issue:

  • I have a similar issue. Updated to 22.3.2 and connected to Electrum Server. Sent a BTC transaction from Trezor Suite, the total is correct, but the transaction history ends with March 16 and does not include today’s transaction. Interesting is that, if I search the transaction ID, I can get it to show up. But it goes away if I close the search.
1376  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can HW manufacturers get user info through their apps? on: March 18, 2022, 04:24:49 PM
Thanks for the links.
You're very welcome Smiley

But we will not blindly believe everything that is written on the site, right?
Exactly, if there's a way to verify it, we should do it!

I still want to pay attention to: in the 1st picture it is written that "Ledger Live does not store your information on a centralized Ledger server", but at the same time in the 2nd picture there is already a clear contradiction. It turns out that the app can collect information about the user (look at the "Analytics" line) and can send it to Ledger servers.
This isn't the first time that Ledger or rather one of their staff has contradicted one of their earlier statements!

In the 2nd paragraph "Anonymous data", it says what data is not included, but it doesn't say what data is collected.
That's weird! Even though I'm the one who shared it the other day, somehow I actually misread that part [facepalm (SMH), thanks for pointing it out], but I did find a few things on that page:

  • Attributes which are always tracked:
    • c_v: version of analytics
    • c_type: type of tracked event
    • c_commit: current revision of app
    • c_instance_id: until user does not wipe storage, the id is still same
    • c_session_id: id changed on every launch of app
    • c_timestamp: time in ms when event is created

What changes are you talking about?
I was talking about "Bitcoin full node via Electrum Server" and they've already released it in "beta mode".
- I just "found out" that Trezor already had a "different software [Blockbook]" that allowed its users to connect to their own node!
1377  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Lucpey exchanger pretending to be BestChange partner on: March 18, 2022, 08:11:50 AM
Apart from having fake partners on their website, they also have fake reviews:

@LucPey
If one day you decide to comment on this thread and address some of the concerns [I highly doubt you'd do it], it'd be nice to also see proof for your "current reserve [especially BTCitcoin]"!
1378  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Paymaya planning to add crypto? on: March 17, 2022, 07:43:39 PM
test launch palang naman. let see if magwork ng pang matagalan.
Fingers crossed...

Para sa akin magandang balita to, bakit? dahil sa mga karagdagang regulations ng coins na kung saan ay maraming nahihigpitan sa kanilang mga rules, mas maganda talaga na meron tayong alternatibo sa pagconvert ng cryptocurrencies natin to our local money which is PHP.
I might sound like a pessimistic person pero sa tingin ko magiging mahigpit din sila dahil kailangan din nilang mag comply with BSP's requirements.
- Hopefully, mas mababa yung magiging fees nila compared sa ibang platforms.
1379  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Paymaya planning to add crypto? on: March 17, 2022, 11:09:18 AM
malabong mag add ang paymaya ng crypto either gcash.  unless main business nila ang crypto like coins.ph
I have to disagree dahil normal lang para sa mga ganyang klase ng company na mag expand into other digital fields or markets at FYI, malapit na ang test launch nila:

1380  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Thoughts about Passport hardware wallet on: March 16, 2022, 03:47:23 PM
Hands down best looking hardware wallet in my opinion, that is air-gapped and open source on both software and hardware level.
In some ways, it reminds me of the Vertu Signature series phones, so I really like its design + most of its features.

I was under the impression that Batch 2 was a lot thinner than the previous version, but it looks like I was wrong [a bit strange].

I'm thinking about grabbing one of those ambassador codes so you guys can get a $10 discount, as I saw a few interested folks who still find $200 too steep.
If you're referring to me because of our previous conversation, honestly, $190 is still a lot for me [due to other expenses], but I appreciate the kind gesture Smiley
