121  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reputation and Trust thread – tclo on: May 18, 2013, 02:19:31 AM
Just sold him 4950XRP for 0.62BTC. I sent first without escrow, he sent the BTC within 5 minutes. Nice and fast, am satisfied, can recommend!
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WTS] Ripples (XRP) for charity (Bitcoin100) on: May 17, 2013, 02:34:02 AM
I got 5000 XRP from the giveaway thread. I would like to sell them. It somehow does not feel right to me to profit from this, because I did nothing but posting my address in a thread. Also, I think that the value of the XRP could potentially decrease massively when OpenCoin starts to hand out more of them (which they already announced some days ago via email to their subscribers), so the buyer might be left holding the hot potato. Doesn't feel OK to earn money this way. According to RippleCharts.com 8000XRP are worth approximately 1 BTC atm. I am expecting offers with a similar magnitude. Actually, I am announcing my desire to donate the BTC in this way because I hope to get better offers when it is for a charitable cause. You can send the BTC directly to the Bitcoin100 charity address. Or make a proposal for another (BTC-)charity. I am willing to send the XRP first if you have plenty of positive feedback for other trades, otherwise through escrow.

Looking forward to your offers! No more offers please.

Powercoin....What makes this coin special?

Powercoin has so much POWER!! I feel that this gives it a clear advantage over many other coins.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Name your TOP 3 altcoins! on: May 16, 2013, 03:22:48 PM
Praxis, I think those are some good choices. Thanks for including reasons for picking your favourites, I like that!

I am also looking forward to lolicoin, I wonder who in their right mind is going to openly admit he is mining/buying/using a pedo-coin? Could become great fun to watch that unfold. Will the urge to be an early adopter outweigh the shame of being in any way associated with it?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Name your TOP 3 altcoins! on: May 16, 2013, 03:04:37 PM
You could pretty much ask: "Name 3 coins you're most loaded with"

You'd get absolutely same answers  Grin

Not true. My answer would then be "none at all". I have never possessed or mined any altcoin, and am not planning to change that. I just think it is fun to be part of the hype that is surrounding them right now. Feels good man!

Also, I feel kind of sorry for Gamecoin. People here were so harsh towards it, I think it never got the love it deserved. Feels bad man!

Edit: Actually I have some ripples which I got from the giveaway thread, but other than that, none at all.

We have seen the arrival of a lot of new altcoins in the last couple of weeks, and I love all of them. I think they are all great in their own way, but here is a list of my favourites:

--------------------------

#1 - Gamecoin!

A coin that was made especially for gameing. I think that is a pretty awesome idea!!!

#2 - Bitbar!

It's actually a BAR, not a coin. The guy who promotes these wrote that they could one day be used as a way to transfer value from one bank to another, because they are not Bitcoins, and therefore they are not associated with crime. Banks don't like to be associated with crime. I think Bitbars could potentially have a great future!

#3 - Powercoin

It feels to me as if this one is practically oozing with POWER! So awesome! GO POWERCOIN!!!

-----------------------------

So what are your TOP 3 altcoins?!?

Please consider using Gamecoin at your site. It is probably the best new altcoin, and it could bring tons of new potential customers.

And maybe also Bitbars. They are BARS, and not coins. That's maybe much better than Litecoins, because they are BARS and not coins.

133  Other / Beginners & Help / Market depth chart with US-Dollar or Euro on y-axis? on: April 17, 2013, 01:59:45 PM
Hi,

I am looking for a chart like this one (the one on the bottom), where the left vertical axis (y) is labeled with Euro or US-dollar instead of BTC. Does anyone know of a site which provides this?

Huh
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 13, 2013, 03:07:10 PM
Is anyone getting live data from anywhere? bitcoinity and clarkmoody are really not helpful at the moment

Try this perhaps?
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 12, 2013, 11:02:06 PM
MTGOX lag at over 3 and a half minutes, trending upwards...
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 11, 2013, 02:54:21 PM
i mean they should have done this yesterday when the mess kicked off. Halting it now when they said they had a ddos attack 4 hours ago is just incompetent again. But hopefully they are going to improve something now.

This will only drive the price FURTHER DOWN when the fucking trading resumes... Mark, you are an idiot....

It seems like a catch-22 to me. The lag was already starting to pile up again, and the price accelerated towards 100$. So i guess no matter what they do, they take the risk of inducing another big drop.

I wonder what the guys from MTGOX were doing during the last 20 hours? Were they asleep? Were they sitting there waiting for the problem to fix itself? And why did they only now decide to take action? Puzzling...
137  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Market cooldown, order placing suspended until 2013-04-12 02:00:00 UTC" on: April 11, 2013, 02:22:24 PM
So they did nothing when the price was jumping up and down by 100$ with a 70+ minute lag, but now that everything has calmed down a bit they stop all trading for a "cooldown"? I don't understand this.
138  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin hater logic on: April 02, 2013, 10:54:17 AM
The price is going up? - "IT'S A BUBBLE! BITCOIN WILL DIE SOON! GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!"

Price going down? - "IT'S A CRASH! BITCOIN IS DYING! GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!"

Price staying constant? - "THE BITCOIN ECONOMY IS STAGNATING! IT'S GOING TO DIE SOON! GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!"

 Tongue

I am getting tired of this. I will try to avoid reading the comments under news articles that mention bitcoin from now on. Nothing new to learn there, which is kind of sad, I am actually really interested in the opinions of those who are sceptical of bitcoins (at least if they know what they are talking about).
139  Bitcoin / Press / 2013-04-01 - zerohedge.com - Bitcoin Hits $101 - Doubles Since Cyprus on: April 01, 2013, 02:48:27 PM

From a January 2nd price of $13.16, the price of a Bitcoin in USD had risen to $46 on March 16th - right before the Cyprus 'solution' was announced. Since then, in two short weeks, the price of a Bitcoin has more than doubled, reaching $101 today. This 'exuberance' in non-fiat currency, should perhaps warrant caution as we noted here, the US is now not only actively monitoring but has commenced regulating the Bitcoin market and those who participate should be well aware that when uncle Sam is involved, things tend to have an unhappy ending for pretty much everyone involved.

Digital currency bitcoin continues its remarkable and somewhat inexplicable run. It’s up 152% this month, and today the total value of all outstanding bitcoins—its market capitalization, if you will—topped $1 billion for the first time before settling back down.
