881  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Network issue on: September 19, 2023, 01:10:02 PM
So the 4 units are still unable to access the dashboard even you run them one by one.

I'd like you to try to flash the unit through SD card flashing.
If you don't know how to flash it through SD card check this guide below.

882  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Network issue on: September 19, 2023, 11:53:59 AM
Have you tried to run them one by one to test if it's an IP issue or not?
Have you also set all miners in static instead of DHCP mode?

Also, would you mind to tell us the exact unit model of these miners?
And pool where you mine?
883  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow wallet webcam help on: September 18, 2023, 11:58:55 PM
That's pretty bad for an old laptop but you can try to config sparrow wallet camera settings by editing the ~/.sparrow/config

Then look for this line
Code:
"hdCapture": false,

Replace the false with true or vice versa if it is set to true and then try to scan the QR code again.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unusual mnemonic seed and alternative recovery options on: September 18, 2023, 11:49:53 PM
It seems the details match to blockchain wallet the only problem is the seed backup has 8 missing words. The chances of finding the remaining words is very slim and it would take years or decades to bruteforce this wallet.

Blockchain.info is their old domain have you tried to recover the wallet on blockchain.com?

If not yet check this link below it only requires email.

885  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Innosilicon t2th+not hashing on: September 18, 2023, 10:57:04 PM

Yes. I managed to install the soc version. But it’s still not mining. It stays at the status page and never shows the hashrate, fan speed etc. I have left it running for about 2 hours now and does not appear on the pool also. What can I do more?

Would you mind to tell us where or what pool you mine you might be configuring the pool incorrectly extra spaces can cause to miner not to work properly.

If its setup fine then can you share the logs here so that we can analyze the issue
886  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S don't work on: September 18, 2023, 06:40:41 PM
Don't want to order a display and replace it by myself. I have only ordered a new cable. if it don't help I will order a bitbox 02.

While waiting for the new cable why not start to disassemble the unit it should be easy and check the LCD terminals and USB ports and try to clean it with isopropyl alcohol as I suggested above.

If it doesn't fix your issue even if you use a new cable then you don't have any other choice but to buy a new hardware wallet. Since you have a backup seed and passphrase you can easily recover it to other wallets that support BIP39.

If you don't know how to disassemble the unit check this video

887  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Address Generator in Java on: September 18, 2023, 06:20:12 PM
Can we run it on android phones?
I don't think this would work on Android devices because .java extension only works if your PC have installed Oracle JDK. I don't find any Android apps that can able to run .java.

You are free to try but Playstore only show one app that could run java app called J2ME loader or try Java compiler.
888  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Loss of assets in hardware wallets?! on: September 18, 2023, 01:11:15 PM
The first question could be possible since you mentioned ledger as we all know ledger wallets do not have open-source code we do not know what exactly happening on the device itself.

However, if you do not trust any of these manufacturers you can set up your own hardware wallet like the above said you can set up a cold storage like Electrum.
Actually, I do not trust any of the hardware wallet manufacturers even if it is open-source code or not. It all depends on how we protect our wallet from any attacks.
889  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Innosilicon t2th+not hashing on: September 18, 2023, 12:38:16 PM
I tried to upgrade the firmware and it says on status: Failure
I tried upgrading on the miner web page

Check carefully the firmware you are trying to flash t2th+ does have two different firmware the Soc and G19 firmware.

Check the miner's dashboard under overview you should see the controller's version if it's g19 or Soc. Or check the control board directly there is a G19 or Soc version written on the control board.
890  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S don't work on: September 18, 2023, 12:03:30 PM
It has an internal battery that's being topped-up whenever you plug-in your hardware wallet,
but since you kept it stored for years, the battery may have been drained or totally busted for a long time storage with very low charge.
If it still didn't work, maybe it's time for a repair or a new one.

Is the Ledger Nano S have a built-in battery? I think both Ledger Nano S and S Plus does not have a built-in battery.
The only Ledger wallet with a built-in battery that I'm aware of is the Ledger Nano X.

@OP regarding to your issue it seems that this issue is pretty common in Ledger Nano S. They fixed their issue by replacing the LCD but if you don't want to buy an LCD you can try to disassemble the unit and try to clean the board and LCD terminals.

About the websocket error if the replacing cable does not work as suggested above you can try to clean the USB port with isopropyl alcohol.
891  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Scrapped S19XP on: September 17, 2023, 07:04:15 PM
It was a virgin S19XP under warranty. I did not tamper with it because of the warranty.

Well, there's nothing we can do that's their assumption.
That's why most of their customers end up looking for a closer/near repair center to avoid such issues and to avoid shipping costs and taxes.

I think you can try to convince them that the 2nd hash board is not scrapped and you didn't open/change/modify anything on that unit.
You can have more chance to convince them if you call them directly to their hotline number +65-3138-9024

About the image, it's not clear to me but the one ASIC chip looks like there's a crack.

If ever you're looking for a repair center near your location you can check this link below and scroll down you can find the list of ASIC repair centers.

892  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Scrapped S19XP on: September 17, 2023, 06:05:41 PM
I don't know exactly what Bitmain means about scrapped but I guess they are pointing to ASIC chips and maybe they think that you replaced these chips.
This means you already voided the warranty if you replaced these ASIC chips or touched/modified anything on the hardware without their approval this will void the warranty because it's an unauthorized modification.

Did you do something on this 2nd hashboard? Or did you bring this to the repair technician before you sent it back to Bitmain?

894  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: lightning network raspberry PI newbie on: September 17, 2023, 02:02:48 PM
I don't think you can earn much on having a lightning node usually the fees used on lightning are around 1 to 3 sats it's not worth it than claiming free sats from faucets.

There is a thread here where you can check how much he earns from lightning routing fees check the link below.

895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I Verify the Integrity of Open-Source Code on: September 17, 2023, 01:31:30 PM
Is there anyway that I can verify the integrity of open-source code and ensure that the code running on your device matches the published code?

Most of the open source have public GPG keys, checksums, and signatures you can verify their integrity by verifying these. Sample Electrum if you download it from GitHub or their website it also provides a GPG signature you can verify it by using the GPG tool.

Other open-source codes also provide checksum files you will need a checksum tool to verify its authenticity there are some guides out there on how to verify checksum or check this link below.

Another thing is you can directly build it from the source if you don't trust the file that you downloaded or installed.
896  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Innosilicon t2th+not hashing on: September 17, 2023, 08:24:54 AM
Ok thanks. I did check on their website but there are no updates. I sent an email to them. I did find some firmware on the web but it’s risky stuff
Where did you find the firmware? Did you find them on the Innosilicon website?
If you find a firmware make sure the firmware is for t2th+ but if it's a random firmware don't use it because flashing a random firmware to this unit can brick a program and unable to flash it back to stock firmware be careful.
897  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitunix: KYC solution? on: September 17, 2023, 08:13:43 AM
I haven't heard of this Bitunix exchange before and how it became a solution for KYC. According to the link provided by JeromeTash above, this exchange is asking for KYC meaning you need to submit personal documents before you can able to use their service.

Another thing is about the website whois below it's a 1 year old site updated last March and located in Arizona the bad part about this information under registrant contact seems fake.
Do you think they do have a physical location? For me, it seems fake because that info is common.

Another thing is this exchange is never mentioned here and the software or CMS used on this website is Zendesk I never heard of any exchange that used Zendesk. So, there is a big possibility that this exchange is a scam.

Do you own this exchange?
898  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Innosilicon t2th+not hashing on: September 16, 2023, 11:26:26 AM
Have you tried to update the firmware to the latest firmware?
If not try it first but the problem is the firmware is no longer available in Innosilicon support you can try to contact them through their email to request for latest firmware.

Here's the email: sales@innosilicon.com.cn
899  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Remitano exchange allegedly hacked for $2.7M on: September 15, 2023, 10:03:27 PM
There is no such thing as hidden tweets, it's just that the tweet is newer than my post, there was nothing when I checked and you can see that from the dates. Besides, even when I made this the news was already 10 hours old and the funds were blocked more than one day ago!
Most likely they never realized what happened till people started calling them!
They claimed that they discovered the breach on the 14th but till miday the 15th they didn't say a word!
Oops... didn't pay attention to the date of your thread vs. the Remitano tweets.

The reason why I said it's hidden because recently I was trying to find tweets on Google but I couldn't find any except the news from other websites.

So, I decided to check their account directly to see if they mentioned anything about the news, but they hadn't posted anything about it until I logged in and saw the new post regarding the hack.

About the delayed announcement from Remitano, I believe they kept the news hidden first to prevent customers from panicking.
What I find curious is why the news appeared first on other websites before they announced the breach, and how did other websites find out that Remitano was hacked.
It seems like someone is monitoring their wallet or what I'm thinking is do they possibly have contact inside?

900  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a boom again? on: September 15, 2023, 06:20:01 PM
We are not financial experts but that's not a good idea to put all of your savings into Bitcoin as we all know Bitcoin is very volatile and we are not sure if this coming block halving will be the same as what happened in the past.
However,  I think it would be better to split your savings into other assets not only Bitcoin and altcoin but also physical assets like gold and real estate to secure your future.

It's hard to predict the price movement of Bitcoin these days it is not similar to the price movement before. Maybe it was just me who saw the market being different.
Why? Because crypto before was not regulated unlike today so there is a possibility you won't be able to see the "Boom" again just like what happen in 2020. That is why I suggested you to invest your savings not only into Bitcoin but also in physical assets.
