Thanks buddy! Didn't know Blockchain.info had that!

I guess the other way would be something in javascript like paper wallet but able to do transactions

You can even use blockchain.info offline while your wallet is decrypted and you're creating the transaction.
1662  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [POLL] Should MT. GOX Have an independent audit? on: July 14, 2012, 01:52:43 AM
I'd like to see this happen but I'm not supporting forcing them to do anything. It's up to the consumer to chose another service provider if they aren't happy with their current one.
1663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Class action Litigation vs. Bitcoinica Consultancy LTD & Intersango LTD on: July 14, 2012, 12:44:00 AM
I understand Bitcoinica Consultancy LTD, but what does Intersango LTD have to do with this?

this

Same company.
Having the same people involved doesn't make it the same company.

Wouldnt Intersango be considered an asset and liable to seizure if the same people own it ?

It would to rational human beings but not to the state and their rules, to them these are two different persons, completely separate.

He tried to kill himself

Do you maybe know how?

@DarkEmi @hatshepsut  and all others.
Sorry to put you up front with the hard truth, buth...
Rule #1: Don't invest money you cannot afford to lose.
I am pretty sure iam not the first one that tells you this right?

Blame the victim is never a good argument.

Will you say the same to those who will experience a loss once pirateat40 runs?

In general, yes.

BUT, with ponzi schemes this is a bit different. Coz some of the "victims" are more like co-conspirators.

I think you're stretching it a bit.. If you truly want to blame anyone (the concept of blame is stupid anyway since I don't believe we have such a thing as free will) meaning you want to find the cause of the effect then you can't really ignore the actions of the victim. Like with a ponzi even here they must have seen ample red flags and warnings by other skeptics and yet decided to risk their money. And once you are in a risk vs reward scenario and the reward doesn't pan out and instead you experience the risk event you were expecting some of the time I don't see how you don't carry partial blame for losing your money.

Cool, I can't wait to hear how it really worked.

Could you in layman's terms explain what the app actually does in terms of positions and matching and liquidating, ect...
1670  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER TAG: bitoinica on: July 13, 2012, 07:48:18 PM
As it stands right now at most some people might deserve a NEGLIGENT tag but labeling them scammers, I don't see how you can rationally support that.
the question is really: do you think that they should be beaten with a bat, for the mistakes/crimes/scamming/whatever they have made, or not?
its really that simple. to hell if we only get to put a incorrect scammer tag on them. do they deserve it?
Violence is never a solution to any problem other than self defense. Ever.
you do know that people does not always behave rationally, right? and that it is much more fun not to.

And how exactly does that make it a good solution or a solution at all? For someone telling people they have a low IQ you seem to be have a lot of problems with thinking correctly yourself.
1671  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER TAG: bitoinica on: July 13, 2012, 07:45:59 PM
I had all of one bitcoin at bitcoinica. I never trusted those bitcoinica guys because they're statists and promote regulating bitcoin. Statists are never that competent - be sure of that.

I think we need a new tag for them, like "FELONS"
oh please drop the libertard bullshit, it only shows that your IQ is under 70.

Says the person suggesting we should pick up bats and solve this problem like they use to do back when we lived in a cave..  Roll Eyes

The fund will be considering all legal options.

Uh oh

That's exactly what my reaction was.
1675  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER TAG: bitoinica on: July 13, 2012, 05:37:54 PM
I voted no because they did return some of what the owe which is commendable given their predicament. I also value the principle of innocent until proven guilty and I haven't seen any proof yet that they are guilty of a scam.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: list of security auditors in the community? on: July 13, 2012, 05:21:20 PM
It appears this is a service someone could be paid to provide..

It's pretty basic, form a company with security experts, offer a security consultation service and/or security audits with insurance and you're golden.
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica MtGox account compromised on: July 13, 2012, 04:34:14 PM
May I suggest people tuck away their lynch mob mentality for a second and instead try and use some usually a lot more productive rational thought before responding in this thread. Yes the situation is fked up but there's no need to start throwing around various threats of violence.

You all knew there was a counterparty risk involved when you decided to use their service.
1678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 100% proof pirate runs a ponzi (thought experiment) on: July 13, 2012, 04:27:51 PM
I believe this thread was alive long enough and am locking it now.

The OP is a thought experiment not in any way shape or form an actual proof of anything and it meant to show that those who "invest" or defend the practices of pirateat40 will some of the time be doing so while BS&T actually being a ponzi scheme. I still for the life of me can't understand what kind of principles people live by that allow them that kind of mentality and behavior but oh well I have no doubt the market will eventually sort it all out.

A fool and his money are soon parted, and there's probably nothing little ol me can do about that.

Can you copy their ToS and post it here?
Here you go : http://pastebin.com/AMrABK66

The good thing is that what genjix posted contains a full git repository, meaning we see can all the different ToS versions.

Awesome thanks!

I wonder what insights we will gain from seeing under the hood just how exactly did Bitcoinca operate, it might turn out that the attack was actually a good thing and it stopped a bucket shop scam where people were unfairly losing loads of money vs the house. Of course there's no question the loss for everyone who had their funds there is very unfortunate and regrettable and wrong.

Will you post a link to the source code?

Did you miss the link here? It's in the first post.
