1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: September 21, 2021, 11:41:18 AM

Get FreeWallet desktop version and explore it..
Lots of volume, people find them by viewing available dispensers, I consider current market rate as lowest price dispenser sell (give 1), you can also do it on wallet.counterwallet.io , atleast their is an option for creating dispensers there but I have not used it for dispensers..

FreeWallet works great

Thanks a lot, I will do some testing.
BTW, do you know what happens if a dispenser shows as available, but gets emptied right before you send some BTC to it?  Can the BTC potentially be lost?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: September 20, 2021, 05:22:52 AM
As it has become really difficult to trade XCP in the last few years (it's no longer listed on any reputable exchanges), and I'm still a strong believer, contact me if you have some XCP you would like to cash out (to BTC or USDT). After agreeing on the terms, trades are completed within 12-24 hours!

Itís pretty easy to buy/sell using dispensers on FreeWallet or whatever dex wallet you choose..

Or I could sell you some xcp.. PM me how much you want..

Not familiar with dispensers!  Any good resources on what they are and how to use them?

Quick questions:
 1. Do they have sufficient volume?
 2. Once you have created your dispenser, how do people find it? Is there somewhere you need to list/advertise it?
 3. How do you determine the current market rate? Say, for XCP-BTC
 4. Does Counterwallet support them too? I've tried FreeWallet (web version) but couldn't see any option to create a dispenser.

Looks like I've got some research to do...

4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Stolen or lost BTC with Electrum Wallet on: December 29, 2017, 09:31:12 PM
Sorry for your loss.

How did you actually come across that fake download site?  I can't find it using Google, no matter what keywords I try.

Finding out where you got that URL from (forum post? IRC? email?) might lead to the attacker.

Quote
I foud the fake site just typing "electrum wallet" on google (i am using www.google.com.br) or just "electrum".
To me the fake appears o top, above the correct site. Is the first site on this search....

This seems to be a well-executed and advanced scam campaign, and is still ongoing.

I've just identified more domains, most probably run by the same attackers:

  www . electrumproject . org
  www . electrumonline . org
  www . electrumsource . org
  www . openelectrum . org
  www . electrumsoft . org

I would suggest to file a police report with your local cybercrime dept (if any), and/or CERT Brazil (www.cert.br) .

6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost Seed and corrupted file, I know password and have the corrupted wallet file on: December 23, 2017, 08:58:09 AM
This needs to be used in the Console tab of Electrum.
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Restoring 8+ old wallets from pre-2013 on: December 09, 2017, 11:49:38 AM
I believe I can help - I was quite involved with early Electrum versions on Windows.
It could require some serious time/effort though. Feel free to message me so we can have a chat about it.
8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: From Electrum 0.59b to newest Electrum on: August 08, 2017, 06:23:52 PM
I may be able to help by next weekend, if you are still stuck by then.
I was very familiar with early Electrum versions.
9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Self compiled build won't run on Windows? on: July 23, 2017, 10:35:04 AM
OK I've made a quick patch to the building process:
 https://github.com/flatfly/electrum/blob/c08657259dc8e5848e33b66e1f829fbd502a1445contrib/build-wine/build-electrum-git.sh

Just replace your copy of build-electrum-git.sh with this one, and try again to see where the error is (hopefully).

Offer 250$ in Bitcoin for anyone who can solve this problem for me.

I don't have a Ubuntu / Wine setup at hand. Would you be happy with a pure Windows procedure?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Brainwallets. Anyone still using them in 2017? on: June 22, 2017, 08:15:06 PM
I took a long hiatus from bitcoin and am back now.  Back in the day, brainwallets were a popular (though usually horribly insecure) storage option. Are people using them nowadays? Perhaps for storing small amounts?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: September 02, 2016, 05:44:33 PM
Alrighty, mission accomplished.  Cool
This one has 32 lowercase letters - everything but the leading 1.

14  Economy / Web Wallets / Be careful - The top Google result for 'blockchain' is a scam ad on: May 15, 2016, 05:14:50 PM
Look at that URL. Watch out, folks.

[EDIT] Reported to Google.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: January 06, 2016, 04:10:10 PM

That looks like the longest real word vanity address yet!
Congratulations!   How long did it take?

15.9 Quintillion difficulty or "1.59*10^19" which is 15,964,160,561,399,003,621

One thing I can say for sure is a two GPU setup would take 10,000 years to find a 13 letter world address like that.
I think I have the world's longest bitcoin word address? Never heard of a 13 found.

Code:
1EMBARraSSABLezwXrdWu1dDAVMMdJ7Ci2

Lightlord controls this 13 letter word address

16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum-Servers should indicate which version of Bitcoind they are using on: July 05, 2015, 10:47:04 AM
Electrum-Servers have to operate a full Bitcoin-core node.

In the light of the recent events on the Bitcoin network, and the short fork on the network, it would be great if the Servers would advertise in their console (tab) msg (where they list their donation address) the Bitcoin-core version they are operating with!  (or if they are using Bitcoin-XT...)

You can get that information for all servers through IRC (/whois server_nick)
But it would be nice indeed to have that show in the console and/or server list dialog...
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: April 23, 2015, 12:01:35 AM
Surprised nobody has beat my 11 real word yet lol.

Only took 1 night with two 660 ti's, running about 48Mk/s and a lot of words.

As the number of letters in a word increases the number of available words decreases and the difficulty to find them as a bitcoin address increases exponentially so it's not surprising there are no 12 letter words yet.
It would take about 100 days with your rig and a file of 3000 words for a 50% chance of finding a single case-insensitive match.

This is my 12 letter real word address and I only found this by sheer luck while searching out 8 letter matches.

Added to the hall of fame. Congratulations!

19  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My Electrum wallet not encrypted?? on: February 15, 2015, 11:47:17 PM
Only seeds and private keys (if any) get encrypted. The rest is not.
Every major wallet (multibit, bitcoin core, etc) does it this way, for a number of reasons.
20  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] chainsnort (live transaction monitoring and fingerprinting tool) on: January 30, 2015, 08:29:08 PM

A little screenshot of the latest windows build, highlighting a large multisig transaction:

Also, starting today I will be experimenting a new funding model and see if it's sustainable:

  • on odd-numbered weeks, the latest stable Windows build for chainsnort can be obtained at no cost - just PM me for the download link

  • on even-numbered weeks, the download will cost 0.255 BTC - send the transaction and PM me for the download link

Hopefully the revenue will help cover part of my development time.
