1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [🔥ANN🔥] GOCHAIN - ETH-based smart contract blockchain: fast, secure, green on: September 29, 2018, 06:03:25 PM
Can we just have some straight dates on when any of these supposed ICOs are starting? Anything? Why doesn't anyone from the actual GOChain team ever post here?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [🔥ANN🔥] GOCHAIN - ETH-based smart contract blockchain: fast, secure, green on: September 21, 2018, 04:59:46 PM
What is going on with all these ICOs that were supposedly each raising $30 million in funds via GO for the months of August and September? We heard of so many companies, Etherprise, Job.com, 4-6 other ICOs I can't recall off hand, and yet the marketcap hasn't moved at all, it's down $10 million from two months ago. Let's get some updated info on all these "supposed" companies ICOing, cause we're not hearing anything at all and at this point, I've waited three months, we're past due.
I'm sorry but you seem quite too eager and not paying attention to these project's timelines neither the sales' details.

These are the 4 ICOs announced so far that will make use of GoChain:

Now, please do note that I have bolded the "will make use of GoChain" bit. Neither of these projects stated that their whole allocation would be on $GO, and if you care to take a deeper look at each of them, the sales are yet to happen.

That being said, I'm truly sorry but seems like you need to do better on your research, and on top of that, please direct project-specific questions to each project accordingly. For any GoChain related questions feel free to ask away and more than gladly I'll help you, or you can join the Telegram Group for a more dynamic interaction - but refrain from making accusations, specially based on not properly conducted reseach, ok? Wink

This answers none of the questions, I don't need your condescension, I have researched and knew everything you told me. They haven't started ICOing, or sales, and they were claimed to start IN AUGUST and SEPT a few months ago when those you mentioned were announced. Now they are stealthily postponing and taking longer.

Next post, provide dates and answers, or don't reply to me at all.

Etherprise for GOChain is similar to Ontology on NEO's chain. Ontology is made for an encrypted network where the public cannot view all the information. This is what this team is essentially doing with Etherprise, except they say they plan to make the Etherprise chain encrypted contracts for enterprise customers who do not wish to have their private corporate data publicly available on the public GOChain.

Also, that phrase is "For all intents and purposes."
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: November 19, 2017, 06:53:37 PM
There are many people with $100k+ locked in loans, what will happen when they will claim their $ millions of dividens earned?  Could it grow as big as Madoff? Could bitconnect become multi billion multi year ponzi scheme lasting 10 years or more?!
Butconnect dudes will join Bernie very soon. They will get a nice prison cell, and ugly black dudes will fuck them up their asses 5 times a day.

haha, Nice. Buttconnect.

It won't last very long. If they are supposed to pay out large dividends within about a year, that's about when it will take a huge shit on all their faces.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: November 18, 2017, 08:31:13 PM
So people calling this a scam, do they have any proof of that? I admit having invested recently in it, and only after that reading more, so I'm a bit worried now that for the next year my funds will be blocked. What made me trust this a bit is the fact that they are within the top cryptos on coinmarketcap, this means that people are actively trading it.

It's a ponzi, straight up...no hate here though. Those who invested early are killing it.. like Trevon James, plus he has a lot of referrals too. Don't ever invest what you can't afford to lose. I would of put 1 BTC a year ago if I knew it's potential, but now that everyone has gotten wind of it, who knows how long Bitconnect will go on for. Good luck  Wink

As far as i can see, Bitconnect will rise up more and the value will go much higher since it is decentralized in which means that they have the power to manipulate the value of their token as long as they have funds from investor and people they referred.

I'm predicting that Bitconnect will mostlikely to hit between $600 - $1000 if the more investors will join their lending investment and people will buy more their tokens just to join the program.

It's a ponzi scheme. can you make money on a Ponzi? Sure you can if you get in early and get out in time. Dumb money has to go somewhere.

Just keep in mind, this is a Ponzi scheme and if you promote this coin you are simply nothing but a slimeball scammer and you'll get feedback rating as such. Just look at the dev's account ratings for trust. Two Legendary members were thoughtful enough to warn you what this was from the beginning.
7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Maintaining the growing blockchain ledger size in local full nodes on: November 16, 2017, 12:32:55 AM
Moore's law. Bitcoin's blockchain we can assume to be roughly double what it's current size is in a few more years time, and of course that will be determined by block size changes/capacity as well but we're essentially looking at a blockchain no matter how you look at it under 1 Terabyte even in 8 more years time. 1 Terabyte in eight more years should only cost roughly the price of a little cheap flash drive at that time.
8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: When will the lightning network activate? on: November 16, 2017, 12:28:37 AM
I was really hoping to see @roasbeef's version of btcd pulled in for this 0.15.1 release. It didn't make it to this new build and I really hope it makes it into the next 0.15.2 Bitcoin Core wallet. Currently, to run LIghtning Networks "lnd" daemon it has to use roasbeef's btcd. Would be nice if LIghtning Network team members could stop by the forums here and let people know approximately how much time is left on this. We really need to start using SegWit and Lightning!

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: November 16, 2017, 12:14:25 AM
Ethereum is a scam with broken multisig, isn't a cryptocurrency, and will fail, not surpass Bitcoin.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.15.1 Released on: November 15, 2017, 11:51:49 PM
Very fast and smooth sync on x86_64 linux. Looks really good. What might be the time frame on 0.15.2 and might that fully support running lnd on top of that build?

Yes sir.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: November 12, 2017, 03:35:57 PM
I had not heard anything about new commits so I've got to take a look into this. Hope everyone is doing well. I should join the Telegram chatgroup.
@Shinohai good to see you stop by here.

This hash power is a serious problem and not being listed on a single good exchange any longer is killing Uno back to the .003 sat range.

Bryce either needs to get in here and explain why he's committing and changing subsidy or he needs to comment the code commits a bit to explain why he is doing that and how he maintains consensus. This is a nightmare for the coin, even though of course everyone can hold. It just broke down through .006 range and will continue to bleed out with no exchanges and terrible reorg of blocks with this centralized hashpower.

I've not been paying much attention, honestly. What I do know is, there is not a "valid" exchange trading UNO anymore and there is a nasty reorg problem continually. Is he only moving up the rate of mining, or is he planning on changing subsidy and block rewards and other things? How will we solve concentrated +51% hashing power?

I hate to see that Cryptapus left because nothing was happening.

13  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why I Am Not Using Hardware Wallet For Cold Storage on: August 04, 2017, 07:48:53 PM
Not sure if I should post it here, but I just wrote a steemit article on "Why I Am Not Using Hardware Wallet For Cold Storage" @ https://steemit.com/wallet/@dorky/why-i-am-not-using-hardware-wallet-for-cold-storage to help people make better decisions.

Check it out.

Lot of people posting their Steemit articles here trying to make bank. Grin

Anyway, this is common sense. TRUE COLD STORAGE = PAPER WALLET

Anyone who lost  a significant amount of Bitcoin will tell you a paper wallet is the safest way of storing it. Think of it like cash money, except you are holding a paper with your keys on it. No one can hack you if you use this method.

SteemIt sounds like a new term for taking a shit on something.

Quote
I think, at the end of the day, that Bitcoin will prevail. It is backed by the vast majority of competent developers in the space (i.e. Core)

The developers have shown that they know and care absolutely nothing about what the real world needs with Bitcoin.   How it is going to be used by real people, and what the industry has been begging for, for 5 years.

This is exactly why we are in this position in the first place.  People got fed up and split off from the development team that was vocally apathetic about everything except the code.  There was a massive disconnect between "lay people" and the dev team - and since there was no leadership in the dev team to force them to write code that would include end-user needs, it never got done.

TLDR:  The fact that one group has "competent developers" means nothing to me.  At the end of the day your code can be amazing, and no real human beings will ever use it if you aren't creating a product they care about.  And if your "competent developers" care nothing about what end users want, then you've got a product that will never get used.

Absolutely wrong.
How does it feel to be so wrong and think you are correct?

Bitcoin needed Segregated Witness from a software engineering standpoint as a common sense patch to fix transaction malleation. Bitcoin does not need 8 MB blocks and will work well with these upcoming updates. Just put your money where your mouth is and go into BCH, then. Enjoy that extremely large, bloated blockchain that is thousands of blocks behind Bitcoin in the next several months.

Seriously, the code will speak for itself. SegWit will be working well and we'll just see how well BCH is working. So far, it's a very sluggish and sloppy quick job with no real support.

This guy doesn't even understand how Bitcoin works. Rambled on about a bunch of useless points to get paid through that Steemit platform. No, I didn't even read, because thankfully the other guy pasted his main points. By all means, don't use a hardware wallet. Maybe you shouldn't be using Bitcoin either, since you need everything done via holding your hand.

Congrats everyone, and sorry I've been away. Recently made a move across country. Will be back posting more conversation fairly soon when I'm caught back up. Traveling for work quite a bit. Hope all the OGs are doing well. Smiley

Hope everyone has been doing well. Been pretty busy with work and traveling the past few months. Looking to remedy that soon and check in a bit more. Great to see UNO doing well.

Cool stuff with the silver, Mark. I'll be wanting to get more UNO around then as well.

Californians are fucking retarded. Right, seceed from a powerful union with no guns. You don't believe in the 2nd amendment, so don't reneg now that you need it. Liberals getting violent in protests. Yanking people from cars, shooting people. Real smart. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is working normally.

Yep, we're the land of fruits and nuts. I've lived in Norcal for 35 years and always been amazed at how completely crazy the people are. Nothing they do seems to make any sense.

San Francisco is ground zero for gay rights but was the only place that voted against gay marriage.

They protest in favor of freedom and democracy at every turn but vote against gun owner rights at every opportunity.

There are more GMO crop protests in California than any other state but they grow more GMO crops than any other state.

They are holding some of the biggest protests to protect Dakota Indian land water from pollution but have some of the most polluted aquifers in the nation.

I think everyone in California is stoned most of the time.

It's a beautiful place don't get me wrong. The people when I've been out there are just beyond comfortable. Meanwhile, since I bought a big chunk of property in the south, all these Trump supporters are actually really normal, everyday working people. Super friendly neighbors that would come over to your house and try to give you what you don't have even if they don't have much.
