I also gave a Noctua 140mm fan a go. I figured, this model "Noctua IndustrialPPC NF-A14" has a maximum effect of 156,5 CFM, which is significantly more compared to its 120mm model (109,9 CFM) as well as 2 dBA quieter. This model http://www.amazon.co.uk/computers/dp/B00KESS5L4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1439794766&sr=8-7&keywords=noctua+140mmAt the same time, to be able to fit it on the S5, I got a 140mm to 120mm adapter. This model http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bitspower-BP-FA140120-BK-140mm-120mm-Adapter/dp/B003U3RTEO/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1439795104&sr=8-10&keywords=140mm+120mmWhen it all arrived, I was expecting magic to happen, I was sure that I cracked the "code". No more fiddling with fan speed needed, and no more unnecessary noise. But that was short lived, as soon as I put it all together and started up the S5, it all came crumbling down, and I was back to square one. The fan did not perform nearly as good I as expected, at 26 degrees room temperature, it was running at max speed and keeping the miner at a constant temperature of 60 degrees. The noise at max speed (41.3 dBA), even though supposedly quieter than its 120mm brother, was considerable and once again louder than the original fan running at 35%. So yeah, one more bummed out experiment to nag about. My next planned experiment, 2 x Cooler Master JetFlo 120mm max effect 95CFM - 28 dBA. But this time, I am not as optimistic.

Here is my two pennies worth on the subject.
I did buy a single (just push) Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-3000 to see just how well it would perform compared to the original jet engine. Even at full speed (2780 rpm) it could not cool the miner properly at 26 C room temperature. It would keep the miner at a constant of 63 degrees Celsius. About the same performance as the original at 35% fan speed. But the noise of the original at 35% is lower (and somewhat duller) than the noise Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-3000 produces at full speed. Based on this experience alone, I would be hesitant to call the Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-3000 an upgrade.

The S5 does not use 750W as such, it is good to have a PSU which can provide more than what the S5 needs, but you should count on around 590 - 600 watts if you run it on default (350). This Difficulty Coins Dollars per Day 0.01102199 BTC $2.87 per Week 0.07715392 BTC $20.08 per Month 0.33548176 BTC $87.29 this diff (est) 0.06088698 BTC $15.84 Minus electricity.

Zagamon, it is none of your bussiness and I think your IQ is below room temperature.
In such a cranky mood... Oh... Did your donkey cheat on you? I am so sorry Because my IQ is so low, I did not relies I was addressing a delusional rural ape with Napoleon complex, I will from now on though, forgive my "slowness" oh great one.
|
|
|
In that case, you need a 750W PSU minimum.

hello there, i want to start mining, and therefore i am planning to buy s5+ antiminer with corsair cx600 watt power supply. How much can i earn running this miner for 1 month?? in my region Power Cost ($/kWh) is 0.05$....... It is going to be very challenging to run the S5+ with a 600W PSU, considering it requires total of 3436W.

Her hvad Spondoolies svar " Due to high demand our current machines are sold out. We are working hard on our next generation products and will not be offering the current machines again. It is still too early in the development cycle for us to announce a production schedule. We do expect to roll out our new products in the next several months." Antminer S5 er et meget populært valg og kan nemt findes mange steder online. For eksempel... Direkte import fra Bitmaintech https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020150725135246063Xsvs9J9J06AE

Why all caps?
Because it is a head line.
My little screamer, find first the Edit button . After that I will perhaps answer to your question I do not care.If some body cares and help I really appreciate, if not it is ok too. Nobody has an obligation to help another. But no one can tell me what to do or not. Get off your high horse, it is not about somebody telling you what to do. All caps is considered rude, and not many fancy helping rude people.

Protact.net has sold real miners and I have trusted them.Little expensive miners yes but they really delivered. So I spilled my morning coffee when I saw that they are selling this Yesminer.I cannot believe 20Th/1.5kW.I wouldn't trust that they will ever deliver that.
AHA! So they are the real deal. I am thinking, either... A. They know something we don't about Yesminer. B. They want to go out with a boom, you know, get a piece of the Yesminer cake. in which case, they once again know something we don't. C. Their investment department is ruled by mad leprechauns. All of the above of course being nothing more than pure speculation. Yesminer is too good to be true, just like the Hashcoins Uranus (I know XD), I hope I am wrong, but for now I am skeptical.

Looks like they still have some in stock.

It certainly looks that way. If it is too good to be true, it is probably not true. How many so called pre-orders will they be able to sum up I wonder...

I don't think you can use only 2x PSUs. According to bitmain's product info Do not connect more than one PSU to the same hashing board! I don't see why not. As I understand, there are 9 boards, just go 5/4.

That's the "known German reseller". Either take the gamble (it's your money) or wait for the promised 'more information' later this month. Not in a rush at all, nor do I fancy the idea of "gambling". When you say "known German re-seller" do you mean that seriously, are they truly known and people actually purchased whatever from them and got them delivered? I am asking, because even though the Yesminer looks very dodgy for the time being, we know for a fact that the Bitmaintech products are very real. I for one would not mind knowing a decent re-seller inside EU borders.

What about this shop https://www.protact.net/ they offer the unit too, as well as the S5 and the new S5+. First look, no red flags to be aware of, but they do lack privacy policy and a few other things on the page. Has anyone purchased anything from them?

There we go! It is official now, cheers to that.

Hello guys, so i have by now like 10 S5, i bought them at different times so they probably are different batchs but i have noticed this wierd behaviur in most of my S5
Has it happened that at some point of the day one blade will shut down for lets say 5 minutes, and then turns it self on again and continue to work? i have had to sent to Bitmain 2 broken blades because they stopped working, so everytime i see one blade shut down i kind of freak out.
I got the Used Antminers yesterday and also happened before to me that you turn on the miner and after 5 minutes one blade stop working so i have to do a hard rese ssh reset won't fix the issue
This has happened in all firmwares, but i just updated to July 11.
Did you at any point notice random beeping even though the temperature is way below 80C?
