It doesn't look like this is going anywhere. If y'all need me, I'm at mark (at) freetalklive. com

I am still interested. We need to find an escrow agent, as I will not do this without one and we need to settle on a price. What were you thinking?

Can someone with high merit and references escrow for us?
As far as price goes, since it's not graded, do you have some pictures to get an idea of it's condition?
Yes, follow this link: https://imgur.com/a/KZDKSbJ. I don't know how to post a pic in this forum. Sorry.

I figured out from my messages that I have met Miner Jones in real life, way back.

I'd just redeem it and sell the physical after you've secured the BTC. The premium is so low and those of us that still have Cass coins have no idea if the private key is still legible under the Holo until we actually pull them. They are amazing collectibles but the higher the BTC $ price the lower the premium and eventually it's just not worth it with shipping, etc..
Well, I guess I should know what a redeemed 2011 Cass coin goes for. How much here?
6  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2011 Casascius Error Coin on: March 08, 2024, 09:01:26 PM

You won't get 1.4 to 1.5 here on the forum....
Bummer, I was hoping that the could get a slightly lower number and the buyer could save 20% to 25%, but you know this market better than I, certainly.

and as the dollar price of bitcoin increases, you will get less premium
Same goes with Stacks. If the price shoots up before/during the auction, your premium "btc" value will be less.

That is what I figured too, the longer I wait, the smaller the percentage, in any case.
7  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2011 Casascius Error Coin on: March 08, 2024, 06:37:36 PM
Yes...

1) Sell/auction coin here. Doesn't need to be graded. You get BTC.

2) Send coin to Stacks, they get it graded for you. Auction it off for you. You get $$$

While it might sell for a bit more on Stacks, remember the fees and tax implications

How do I get an offer here? S&B is offering to sell for a 20% commision above the 1.25 to 1.5, meaning a 1.5 to 1.8 sale price. Then my tax on top. 1.4 to 1.5 seems like a good range for people here to get a deal in exchange for me not getting it graded.

So, the folks at Stacks Bowers say that they will grade the coin, list it at 1X a BTC and that I could likely expect to get 1.25 to 1.5 BTC in the event of a sale. They will only pay in USD.

I would really like to get BTC for this, but Stacks Bowers seems like an easy solution. Do y'all have thoughts on this?

Well, I figured I ought to get a couple of pics before my planned trip. So, I ran down to the vault and got them. If y'all don't think there is much of a chance of getting more than 1.25 BTC for them, I don't think I should sell. That isn't much of a premium and maybe the auction houses will change their minds. Stacks Bowers has sold a few, by the looks of it, but all of theirs are in nice little packages. Any ideas of how to get that done?

Thanks for all the input on this post, guys.

Happy to help out with any grading, escrow, or logistics need.
Feel free to PM about this.
Please check my trust rating to help you make an informed decision

Thank you Cheesy

How can  you help with grading?

Should I date it too, does that have any value?

Yes, I see how pictures will make a big difference. You gentlemen have been generous with your thoughts. Thank you.

It would also suggest now is a good time to find me and murder me for it.

I have it. My radio program Free Talk Live was the first media and in the world to discuss Bitcoin in Dec 2010.

I mean I could go get a picture of it from the vault, but it would be some work. Likely people would want proof of condition... I will think about this. Thanks for the suggestion.

ask moderator (low right corner --> report to moderator) to move your topic to collectibles section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

did you have prof of previous ownership? signed message? This coin is loaded or not? shipping from where?
what did you plan to realize from the sell? escrow accepted?

Thank you very much for your help here. It is clear you know the right questions.

did you have prof of previous ownership? Yes, I have an email thread with Roger.
signed message? It is from his email address, but I presume that he could provide me with further proof.
This coin is loaded or not? Yes, of course. I should have said so, but it is definately.
shipping from where? I would be shipping from Florida.
what did you plan to realize from the sell? I honestly don't know what they are worth(2x 3x?), but I would want to be paid in BTC.
escrow accepted? Well, I would demand it, yes.
14  Economy / Collectibles / 2011 Casascius Error Coin on: March 06, 2024, 05:15:54 PM
I have access to Casascius Error Coin (loaded, unredeemed) given to me by Roger Ver in 2011. This coin is not graded or rated, I would like to do so, but don't know how. I want to sell for BTC at some point soon.

I have an email thread with Roger, proving provenance, but I likely could provide more if needed. I would be shipping from Florida. Escrow would be needed for this sale.

I honestly don't know what they are worth (2x 3x?), but I would want to be paid in BTC.

**Please don't waste your time or mine trying to get me to mail you this coin before it is paid for. I am no fool. This collector's item is currently in a vault, and I can only access it with an appointment.**
15  Economy / Services / 50% Bitcoin Sale - US National Radio on: March 19, 2015, 03:47:11 PM
Free Talk Live, the first ad venue in the world to accept Bitcoin and the ones that introduced Roger Ver (Bitcoin Jesus) to BTC, is having a Bitcoin Sale! We started it last month and such a great response that we are extending it until 4-17-15.

Although we are not a bitcoin show (more libertarian), we talk about Bitcoin nightly on FTL. Roger Ver and Gavin Andresen credit us with some of the initial popularity of Bitcoin, back in 2011 and 2012. It has grown beyond us now, and we are thrilled, but we still have a large, loyal audience (>250,000) and can help your business, web site or organization grow. Our rates are published at http://advertise.freetalklive.com. Take 50% off of that if you pay in bitcoin by 4-17-15. Don't wait, it can take a few days to finalize an ad deal.

Take a look at our promotional video: http://youtu.be/WJPpRvDWh1U and email me if you are interested Mark@freetalklive.com.

Thanks for the plug, Chef!

We have one of the best stories in Bitcoinia. Gavin Andresen was an AMPlifier (club member) of FTL and introduced us to btc in Jan 2011. We talked about it on air that night and that is how Roger Ver heard about it. Gavin called it the most profitable lunch of his life Smiley.

I am looking to run radio adds warning people against Bitcoin, would be very useful if you could give me some contacts. Thanks! Smiley

What kind of contacts are you looking for? My email is above. What kinds of warnings are you wishing to give? I will only allow the truth on my radio program.

It is $210 for a :30 ad every night for a week. Can you pay in bitcoins Smiley?

I think Bitcoins are going to change the world and I want my radio program on the frontier of that change.
