61  Economy / Goods / >1.6W 445nm Blue Burner laser pointer [Gauging Interest] on: March 30, 2012, 03:40:10 AM
The laser driver is set at 1.5A and is powered by 2x cr123a batteries which i will include. this laser is good because of the large aluminum heat sink which allows for a longer duty cycle. This is barely used. it can get about1.68W of power. it can burn stuff and light match under a second and it is very bright and you can see the beam in the daytime. Currently the laser is at my other house and if there is enough interest on the laser, i'll get it.

Here is a picture that i have on my phone:

I'm also in the US. It would be a good idea to put shipping location in the post and if you're willing to ship international.

Hi Everyone

Blizzcoin came through in the end, I placed the order on Tuesday and received the bitcoins on Thursday... apparently because I Manually transferred money to them instead of ordering through their web interface, it wasn't an instant transfer of bitcoins.

Just thought I'd let everyone know it went well with Blizzcoin.

Thank you everyone for your advice, will proberly try intersango next time....

Good thing you didn't get scammed there
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I keep my bitcoins while I reformat my computer? on: March 29, 2012, 08:00:05 AM
One other solution is transfer to a online wallet like MTGOX or blockchain.info and transfer back when you're done with the reformatting.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New mining teams? on: March 29, 2012, 05:24:32 AM
Try not to pool at deepbit, giving too much power to one pool.
Try other pool and they have lower/no fees like abcpool.

A newbie wanted to post this
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74530.0

I found this thread to be extremely helpful, so I'm returning the favor by posting an improved and simplified version of the code. Unfortunately, my forum account is limited to the Newbie section. Mods, please move this post to the thread above.
Code:
from hashlib import sha512
from hmac import HMAC
from base64 import b64decode, b64encode
from urllib import urlencode

from time import time

import requests

class MTGox:
def __init__(self, key, secret, base):
self.key = key
self.secret = b64decode(secret)
self.base = base

def query(self, path, args={}):
args['nonce'] = int(time()*100000)
headers = {
'User-Agent': 'BitcoinTalk',
'Rest-Key': self.key,
'Rest-Sign': b64encode(str(HMAC(self.secret, urlencode(args), sha512).digest()))
}
r = requests.post(self.base + path, data=args, headers=headers)
print r.text

I don't know. I managed to get 3 of these. I was waiting for it a bit but yeah get the word out before posting the codes and make it more of a toss up. I don't know a puzzle might be fun for the key with the highest amount. I think this is great though. Very fun to try and race to get them. FYI if you use "Barcode Scanner" for Android it's easier to email the code to yourself after scanning and then copy and pasting it into MtGox on your computer. I thought I'd help out the competition.  Wink

Good strategy Wink
