201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: February 22, 2024, 09:57:16 PM
Marseille this season is just a very normal team and I doubt they could pick a place for any of the European competitions if they continue with the horrible performance they are showing!
UEFA games are worse to predict for sure, yet they have a way better odds @1.7 when comparing it to Donetsk @4.8. Apart from playing home, I don't see why the odds are that high.
The situation is quite different between Toulouse and Benfica where Benfica are clearly the favourite even when playing away. Bookies are backing the presence of a Ligue 1 team for the next round.

Marseille is still unbeaten at home in this season in all competitions (90 minutes/normal time).
They only lost once in a penalty shootout against Panathinaikos back in August 2023 - Champions League Qualifying R3.

With this record, Marseille will be heavily favored by the bettors despite both of the teams performance.
In reality, Shakhtar players should be more fit in stamina than Marseille players, because the Ukraine Premier League was in a break since Dec last year.
If I have to bet on this match, I will pick Shakhtar with asian handicap.
I should have taken on consideration that point maybe because Marseille's game almost finished and they are leading with 3 goals to 1 against Donetsk. That was nice from them considering their actual performance in Ligue 1!
The other two French teams are out after their defeat. Lens lost by two goals to three vs Freiburg and Toulouse failed to score at home in Benfica goalie.. For Rennes, they won but lost by aggregate

Marseille have finally decided to sack Gennaro Gattuso after the poor results they got in the league for six weeks in a row. Jean-Louis Gasset has been named as their new manager.  Smiley

Jean-Louis Gasset was Ivory Coast's manager before this job. Ivory Coast won the last AFCON title with him as well. After a great success his name must have come one step forward. He has a history with managing French teams before as well so maybe his period with Marseille would be better than Gattuso at least. Marseille really ned to be saved after dropping down to the ninth position in the standings.  Sad
Hopefully this will work for them since Marseille are desperate for a European competition spot, ideally a Champions League one but that sounds a bit difficult unless they progress rapidly with the new manager.
Ivory Coast wasn't impressive even though they won AFCON Cup, so I am a little bit sceptic about them.

Today I decided to check the quotes for the title (in the hope that they are still better than a bank deposit, haha, just kidding):

Paris Saint Germain 1.01

Brest 49.98
As Monaco Fc 79.38
Lille 98.98
Nice 98.98

they are already much worse. Although there are 3 months left until the end of the championship, and PSG will become the official champion approximately 5-6 rounds before the end. If you think about it from this point of view, 1% for two months is very good, but in fact few people are interested.
The fight for the two remaining spots in the Champions League between four teams looks much more interesting. Brest is a logical favorite, but for some reason Monaco is rated better than Nice and Lille, which in my opinion is simply a reflection of the “strength” of the brand and not the real strength of the game.
For me it is for sure PSG that will win the league and maybe before 5 rounds as you said or even more!
The reward of 1% doesn't worth the hassle and for the other teams odds, they took on consideration the downtrend of teams especially Nice

I think the opposite way for Arsenal. I believe they could win this game even with two goals difference regardless of the fact that they are playing away.
The performance shown by Arsenal in the latest games are quite good and Arteta should manage to not only win but score as many goals as possible.

I find Napoli and Barcelona match harder since both teams aren't in their good form and missing many points in their respective leagues. I think this game might end with a draw or Barcelona will win with a goal difference?
If you look at how Arsenal played the last games against strong teams away, like Liverpool, PSV or Aston Villa, they could not win any of these matches. And Porto can undoubtedly be called a home team, so I don’t expect a major victory for Arsenal in this match, and I’m also not sure that Arsenal will be able to beat Porto.
In the match between Barcelona and Napoli, I would give preference to Xavi’s team, because Napoli were unable to show almost anything meaningful in the last games.

Everyone here had a correct and a mistaken answer apparently.
I admit overestimating Arsenal and I thought they healed... No shot on target, few serious opportunities and an upsetting defeat Undecided

For Barcelona and Napoli, I was correct to suggest a draw in the first place. Barcelona indeed scored but Napoli responded and got the draw. After all, this result is good for Barcelona which will be the host for the second leg.

Apparently many people think that finding a Bitcoin in some random wallet is like digging for a treasure in an abandoned land or something similar.
Regardless of how low the probability for this to happen, there will be two possibilities: the owner is no longer here so there will be no consequences or most likely the owner will report what happened to the police and legal actions will follow.
205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 21, 2024, 05:56:35 PM
I think Arsenal will struggle to beat FC Porto at the stadium of Estadio do Dragao today even though the players of Arsenal are currently looking to be in their best form. The defense of FC Porto are great when they are playing at their home stadium but their offense and ability to score goals are not that ideal this season and I guess this 1st leg match might ends up with a draw between these two teams.

I think the opposite way for Arsenal. I believe they could win this game even with two goals difference regardless of the fact that they are playing away.

Take care when you bet on this kind of game, they are a fucking lottery man, we think we know everything about football but in this tournament you never know what to expect, the weak teams are making a lot of surprises in the recent years, and some big teams tremble when they play.

Shaktar can take out Marseille for example.

For me the most unknown result of this journey is gonna be the travel of Betis into Zagreb, is gonna be a very difficult one for the spaniard team, Dinamo is a strong and good team and more in their home, they already beaten big teams in the past in otehr european competitions, so maybe we can see a big shock with Betis out of the competition.

Barely all games odds in this round are not far from each other, ranging from 1.9 for a team to 3.6 for the other.
Dinamo Zagreb odds are @2.9 vs @2.2 for Real Betis. Even though these odds are better for Real Betis but I think Zagreb will pass.
For me, it is Bodo - Ajax Amsterdam game that look more challenging since Ajax are playing away and they have to win something this season...

Inter vs Atletico Madrid
   1     -        0

Look how Inter really didn't give any chance for Atletico Madrid to attack.
https://talkimg.com/images/2024/02/20/YEvUa.png

Atletico Madrid seemed to be really frustrated because they were so hard to attack to Inter's  defense. Actually, Both Atletico Madrid and Inter did great job, but in this case, Inter did much better in attacking. they are more offensive although they actually also faced some difficulties during the match.

Atletico Madrid didn't shot a single shot towards the net according to these stats which is so bad if we add also to it a reduced number of serious attempts to score. This defeat wasn't good for sure but taking only one goal away give them an opportunity to try to win once playing in their home.

For me, PSV Eindhoven 1 - 1 Borussia Dortmund match was more interesting but unfortunately Dortmund couldn't keep their positive result.
I think these both games will be concluded in the second leg. I mean even a single victory isn't enough to be confident that team will pass..
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 20, 2024, 10:14:18 PM
For this season I don't doubt Real Madrid I'm sure they will win the title and there are no competitors who can disturb them, initially Laliga had Girona as the main competitor but now we can see that Girona's performance is getting worse so they are not worthy of competitors. The same thing with Barcelona who is still far behind  and they have no way to pursue Real Madrid. Anyway Laliga is no longer interesting towards the end of the season because we already know who is the champion,

Even Real Madrid are missing points and if Girona or Barcelona start winning again in row, then they might catch Real Madrid since the difference is only 6 and 8 points respectively.
In yesterday's game, Athletic Bilbao started very well at home, with an early goal then they kept attacking and scoring every time Girona got the draw.
Next round, top teams games aren't that hard and they should all win their games. The one that will defeat might see its place being shifted!
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 20, 2024, 09:20:48 PM
1 goal lead is not enough for Dortmund to secure the win today. They have to score more if they want to qualify. Am saying this because i still see more pressing from their opponents and care is not taken we might see an equalising goal from PSV.

Although i have placed my bet on Dortmund to win but with multiple of goals of 3. So i am still expecting to see more goals, each specifically from both teams.

The game is away for Borussia Dortmund so winning even with one goal difference will be good.
Right now PSV Eindhoven player de Jong scored a goal from a penalty and it is 1 - 1 right now. This will make things more complicated for Borussia Dortmund especially seeing the odds how shifted drastically from Dortmund being favourite before PSV goal and after it being less favourite..
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 20, 2024, 05:25:13 PM

oh oh Manc in third place? start some trouble?
They are in 3rd place with a difference of 4 points from the current leaders, Liverpool and they are only 2 points away from Arsenal who are now in second place. However, you also need to remember that they still have 1 match that has not been played in Week 18 and that match will be played today against Brentford.

Well, Manchester City is better than Brentford and should reclaim the second spot once they finish this game and have the same number of points as the others.
Odds are in favour of Manchester City. Brentford aren't playing as they used to do in the previous season and I doubt they could win. Manchester City victory is easy to be done if they don't miss a big number of attempts as they did in the last match!
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 19, 2024, 09:11:08 PM
It was very unfortunate that Milan got a defeat against a small team like Monza. Milan missed the chance to overtake Juventus in the second place.

That was a surprising defeat for AC Milan and a happy round for Inter Milan which not only see AC Milan losing 3 points but also Juventus missing 2 points after their draw against Verona. I don't know what's worse, to see Milan defeat vs mid-table team or Juventus draw against a team in the relegation zone.
After all, that was a good reward for Inter, they are right now in advance with 9 points and could go up to 12 since they still lacks 1 match.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 19, 2024, 09:03:04 PM
Hmm, well Manchester City still have a game in hand and being 4 points behind doesn't look too bad at this point. MC have less difficult games in the league, which they can surely win, and already on the 10th of March they will meet Liverpool, where it will hardly be clear who will win this season, because both Liverpool and MC can make a mistake at the very end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised, because this season is crazy.
We should keep our hopes alive because the best team comes with competitive strength and excellent results, just keep in mind that Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are actively in the EPL title race. The positions of these elite teams doesn't matter because it keeps fluctuating and bringing in solid differences. Manchester City coming in for everything valuable in the English Premier League this season. They just have to observe and aim for the big points and inother to do that, there are points and tough games that must be won.

Manchester City lost the advantage they had and even winning tomorrow's match against Brentford will make them the second in the league with 1 point difference from Liverpool.
Manchester City attack a lot but can't find the proper way to finish or they miss obvious opportunities sometimes..
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 19, 2024, 08:54:00 PM
I think the big funds bought the coins at the last bottom and now have a big profit. It turns out they have already made x3 in a year. And now these funds need to gradually sell their coins. I want to be wrong, but there is a reason why there was a good rise on etf news.

It is always hard to precisely tell why the prices of Bitcoin and the rest of cryptocurrencies are rising because there isn't a single factor but it is very complicated.
The ETF news might be a factor itself because certainly there is many new players in the field that joined recently but there is also the approaching halving that might gave a boost and of course big players that saw an opportunity of these events to boost a little the market...

Now to answer the OP question, I think it is a little bit hard to see a new ATH in the next month but few days before the halving, things might go messy and we could see it happening. I say 20% we might see that and I believe it will not last long if that happened before the price goes down for a while.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 18, 2024, 10:46:52 PM
As I said some several posts ago here that Bayern should not be relied to be betting on them as all the psychological pressure is on them and they showed tonight that they could not bear such a pressure and I also conclude that in here they completely lost any single glimpse of hope that they may had to win the Bundesliga this year, they simply have not been consistent.

Leverkussen needs just to not be self complacent and I am pretty sure with their performance they are going to have an easy win of the Bundesliga title during this year, they just need to not underestimate any remaining games until the end of the season.

Bayern Munich are running their chances and making the title accomplishment this season evaporate with every round.
Bochum is a team hovering around the relegation zone and shouldn't be a problem for a team like Bayern. It wasn't a a lucky and a surprising finish with a late goal. Bayern Munich had the time to score but they failed to do it..
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 18, 2024, 10:36:24 PM
This round made PSG run away from the other teams with 13 points difference and Brest to move to the second position in the table after defeating Marseille. The defeat against Lyon was unexpected for Nice supporters and made Lyon escape further from the relegation zone.
Nantes started with some power but ended up by accepting the domination of PSG although having and missing many opportunities. Next time PSG will face Rennes which has a good record lately but they are expected to lose.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 18, 2024, 03:06:58 PM
Is it because of the fact that most of their players are out injured cause Carlo Ancelloti is using the formation he used when they played Leipzig in the champions league and honestly it's not doing well for him.

The game finished and Real Madrid not only lost two points in it, but they will lose another player due to the red card, in addition to the ones that are already injured!
Carvajal made a no sense, useless move with his head that made Real Madrid play with only 10 players in the last minutes, otherwise it was already clear that Real Madrid wouldn't be able to score a goal.
Now Girona will have a chance to reduce the gap to only three points once they could defeat Athletic Bilbao which I doubt it will occur.
218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 17, 2024, 06:09:39 PM
Only 1-1 for Napoli, 1 point, and now their position is critical for the top 4 and the Champion's League zone.

TBH they can even maybe end 5th for a spot this season.
Maybe even further.
The result was a draw at home and even almost lost, fortunately there was a goal at the end of the match which saved Napoli from defeat in front of their own supporters.

This is a fair result because Napoli's performance was not that good in this match and it is clear that there is no good progress in terms of performance in the Napoli team and I doubt that they can finish in the European zone.

Napoli cannot continue like that and I blame their president for not selling Osimhen for like $100m so they could have more funds to build a stronger team..
This season they are struggling to keep a good position for any of the European competition...
Right now, Inter Milan is the team that has the best performance and results in Serie A, even Juventus are having many troubles. In the first half against Verona, the result is a draw with one goal for each team.
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 17, 2024, 05:41:29 PM
A simple and pragmatic win for Leverkussen makes them 8 points ahead Bayern Munchen,of course with a game more but it shows that this year it won't be easy at all for Munchen to recover and win the title like they usually have done when they were fighting against Dortmund and Leipzig which are well known for screwing up and being very consistent teams.

I think now since Munchen knows this, some surprise results may also happen to them because they will bearing a huge psychological pressure as they see Leverkussen quite ahead now so I would refrain from betting and choosing them in my tickets.

Bayern Munich know very well that every defeat or even a simple draw could cost them the title since Bayer Leverkusen are advancing in a steady manner while they are missing points from here and there.
Bayer Leverkusen won with two goals and received only one at the end of the match which is normal in my opinion. Bayern should try to reduce the actual gap if they want to stay competitive.
In another match, Borussia Dortmund missed two points due to a draw against Wolfsburg and will give Leipzig an opportunity to reduce the gap..
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 17, 2024, 11:54:46 AM
As we have often seen with teams that make surprises like Girona did in La Liga this season and it is very likely that moments like this season will not be repeated and even Leicester, who won the Premier League at that time, will not be able to maintain their performance in the following season.
That's only natural and so far what Girona has done is quite extraordinary, I'm sure their target to win La Liga is not even in their minds, this is very significant and quite a small percentage and I can even say it won't be possible.

Girona know very well that this opportunity they have this season might not happens again and they should try to profit from it.
They will have a game in two days against Athletic Bilbao which is a hard team and playing home by the way and they are expected to lose. Such defeat will cost them the title in my opinion since Real Madrid will be able to increase the gap to eight points but also Barcelona could get closer from them.
Guaranteeing a place in UEFA Champions League should not be their unique objective this season but to try to pick the first spot from Real Madrid as they did previously.
