901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / DDOS Payback on: April 18, 2013, 07:24:15 AM
Almost every major Bitcoin website has been under DDOS attack over the past few days. It’s becoming a real problem, not just for the exchanges. It is also opening up other vulnerabilities.

Installing defensive tech (like cloudflare) is not enough. Isn’t the Bitcoin community supposed to include some of the best hackers in the world? We should set up a bounty and take the fight to whatever botnets are trying to mess with Bitcoin.

As long as attackers can get away with it for free, attacks will continue. Let's just readjust their incentives a bit  Wink

I suggest setting up:

0. Reward for proving that there is a real attacker
1. Reward for whoever can identify the source of the attacks
2. Bounty for taking down (with prejudice) any major attackers

Considering the potential losses for major Bitcoin businesses if these attacks continue, I’m sure pledging a few coins each for this would be worthwhile. It might also be a good project for the Bitcoin Foundation...

...y ahora:

904  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: como funciona localBitcoins? on: April 17, 2013, 05:59:45 PM

905  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-15 Jim Rogers: Gold Drop Partially Caused by Bitcoin Drop on: April 17, 2013, 08:39:43 AM
Business Insider is notoriously unreliable on matters of gold and bitcoin. Expect highly selective quotations, at the very least. I too would like to see the video... if Jim Rogers did say this, I'm pretty certain he was smiling at the time.

Also, consider that this guy moved to Singapore because he is trying to think 100 years ahead. I have little doubt that he is very interested in Bitcoin.

It mentions a new paper by George Selgin, author of "Good Money", a book that is definitely recommended reading for all bitcoiners. It's on the history of private currency in 18th and 19th century England.

The adjectives used are all pretty negative. Definitely a hit piece.

"imme wieder werden online börsen gehackt"

"Gefährlicher Bitcoin"

"Bitcoin in Visier von Hackenbanden"

etc, etc...

918  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: ¿Como enviar bitcoins sin coste? on: April 14, 2013, 01:26:27 PM
