1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam! on: January 17, 2020, 05:38:51 AM
I am trying to withdraw a small amount of XRP from HitBTC, and this withdrawal was refused (my own XRP refused to me); I suspect it is due to the fact that I have not filled out the lenghty KYC form they ask of me.

I will never anymore fill out these long KYC forms. It takes like 1-2 hours,  and then the exchange gets hacked or closes down and I end up having done this for nothing. Also, I do not trust HitBTC with my personal info.

I will keep you posted about this problem; if I dont get my money I plan on spending the 2 hours it would take me to fill out the KYC to instead run a negative campaign about them across all crypto forums.

This also brings back the old truth: Never trust exchanges, don't leave coin there: one way or another you will lose it.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: July 20, 2018, 06:48:01 PM
Today is a great day for Bitcore! Today we will all see the long-awaited white paper, I very impatient to read it. I hope to learn something new from it.

Thanks for this news... i want read white paper, and think BTX is a great and undervalued project ... another question i have old btx on ond 1xxx btc adress this is a problem for hodl it on this address? thanks for reply

Very undervalued project; the only important thing is the Devs are still working hard to make things work, so I am buying more BTX slowly. It's just too bad BTX isn't a PoSP staking coin, instead of being a wasteful PoW algo, but that's me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHdt9uILY-8

This is a condensed version compiled from my 2-in-1 tutorial on Buying and Staking Bullion.

2-minute tutorial walking viewer thru:
- Transferring Bitcoin from Coinbase.com to Cryptopia.co.nz
- Converting Bitcoin to Bullion on Cryptopia.co.nz exchange
- Withdrawing Bullion from Cryptopia.co.nz to users personal Bullion Vault

Enjoy!

We can see your video editing skills are improving fast! Good idea to condense the other video in just 2 minutes.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 19, 2018, 07:18:05 PM
Is it possible now to become a Lisk staking DPOS delegate? Last time I checked it was practically impossible.

At the current state, the delegate with the lowest approval has a 23.47% approval, which means currently, you'd need either 29 Million LSK on your own or the votes of that amount to barely make it. 29 mil. LSK is currently around 22600 BTC or roughly 165,700,000 Dollar.

Well that makes it clear that nobody can actually sign up to become a Lisk delegate, as it doesn't make any sense to spend 165 million $ on any crypto, even for a guy like Bill Gates.

I have purchased some BTX and am accumulating as I like this project and I like what the team is doing.

Just I find the current price movement discouraging though.

7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin security is safe now? on: July 18, 2018, 07:19:48 PM
I think, after all this time, that bitcoin is safe software-wise; it's only as safe as the practices of the people using it though.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit - Stucked coins list (Add yours) on: July 18, 2018, 07:18:10 PM
It's pretty incredible an exchange can survive with such practices and leaving customers stuck with coin they cannot withdraw;

I guess people who use Yobit don't do any research.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16.1 Released on: July 18, 2018, 07:14:17 PM
Was this new core version applied to Electrum wallet as well? I didn't see a new Electrum wallet version come out.

Since 0.16.1 update don't change any bitcoin protocol or features, Electrum don't have to upgrade their wallet to support the changes.

Besides, i don't see any reason why would new Core's update need to be applied to Electrum since both of them are different wallet with different features. All that matters that a wallet's implementation must follow Bitcoin protocol.

I misunderstood; thanks for your answer. I thought Bitcoin core was the main software running at the core of all bitcoind daemons; but I realise now it's an actual wallet...

we will see espers again on doge market... it will be below 1 sat again.

I hope we wont see espers going back where it was one year and half ago, in ltc market. But you'll never know what may happen, we should be prepared for everything. Now is nice to see that espers is holding to 3 sats and let's hope it won't go lower.

ESP has been stuck at three satoshi for a very long time; the only reason is someone is supporting it with his own money otherwise it would go lower.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 18, 2018, 07:02:51 PM
BTC had a nice run up to 20000$ then crashed to 5500$, which is what it always does after such a strong rise.

Personally I am waiting for 100 000$.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2018, 05:27:52 PM
What, I'm looking now good coin flew after a strong fall. Perhaps this is just a sign for all, now probably need to buy a long term coin.
I wonder what's the growth potential of the coin? Cry

The slow but steep fall in value of TOA reflects the long time it took them to build certain things, and the time it takes to establish business partnerships, behind the scene.

Now, someone in the know just spent 500 000$ to buy all TOA off the market. They certainly didn't spend this money because they thought TOA was going down.

Hi! When is site going to be translated in Russian??

Why will it be translated to Russian? Is there an active community in Russia requesting for it? If so, that will be great.

Then TOA truly becomes the coin for all of Asia; this is a good starting point for TOA

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bullion (CBX) 'the Digital Precious Metal' | 2018 Roadmap published on: July 15, 2018, 06:50:00 PM
I have been here since day one, I would like to take my hat off to all the developers and the community surrounding this coin as you have been consistent and have remained devoted since launch.  I held when Mercury split, and continue to hold to this day.  I see good things here as long as you guys stick to the original vision created for this project, which had remained in tact all these years.  Cheers!!

Nice to see people from historic CBX thread coming back to visit; indeed CBX's original vision seems intact...

I hope more and more of you guys keep coming back and get involved again!  Cheesy

Well, I am noticing a very nice increase in daily trading volume for CBX, along with a higher price; more people will pay attention that is for sure!

(...) Given we've neglected Bitcointalk (...)

If you want to neglect one social media, neglecting bitcointalk is a very bad idea. I am very disappointed about the recent choices ESP is making, not to mention the low price.

3 satoshis price isn't going to make any investor interested, I hope ESP developers can come out of their Lambos, and show some price support, like now.

It's about time.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining is costly... on: July 12, 2018, 06:38:55 PM
Mining is expensive as mining equipment is sold at a price so that expected mining rewards are cash-negative when compared to outright buying BTC - otherwise companies like Bitmain would just mine themselves; I see BTC mining as a hobby personally.

Going to this expo will be good for TOA; I am happy about this, although recent price drop has me a little worried tbh

PUA.Coinminer is a detection for a file based cryptocurrency miner that runs on your system. These miners consumes enormous CPU resources, making computer use sluggish. If you haven't downloaded the file it may be brought onto your system through various sources like bundled in PUA, Exploitation etc. If you find this signature hitting its expected that a miner is hosted on your system.
Affected
Windows 2000, Windows 7, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows XP, MAC and Linux platforms.

This looks like an overzealous virus detector. The TOA wallet is clean, and yet it triggers some virus warnings here too. This is a pretty common issue in Crypto, personally I look at the team behind a coin and decide if I trust my coin with it (Example, if the Electrum wallet publisher had some kind of hidden malware, it's creator would make a lot of quick money - but we trust he won't do this because in the long term he will earn a lot more)
