If Lukaku doesn't lose steam and shape, he might be among the best scorers in Europe until the European Championship starts in 2024. All the goals he scored must give him extra confidence and there is no reason to doubt he is able to score in any game. He could become the most valuable asset Roma has. I will be honest, I don't like Lukaku as much as I like the top strikers in Europe because I thought he is not physically flexible enough, but I could be wrong and maybe should change my opinion about him. He is delivering nonstop. Basically, it is mandatory for a striker to have lots of goals in every season. So yes, although so far Lukaku still looks good at AS Roma having managed to have good goals too, but I'm not completely impressed. The major surprise for me in this group stages has been Benfica. They sit bottom of the group after losing all their four games and are already out of contention for a round-of-16 slot and will need a huge turn around to make it to the Europa league.
This is a stark difference from their last season campaign where they topped the group with PSG coming second and went on to reach the quarter finals, only to be knocked out by eventual finalist in Inter Milan. Conceding two goals first seemed to make Barcelona feel quite frustrated and even though before the first half ended they managed to score 1 goal, it was still less than expected. Barcelona was only able to score 1 additional goal in the second half and that only made the score 2-2 until the match ended. It's really an easy game for PSG, to be fair I feel like PSG is still not going to do all that badly in the league, people are overreacting and they should not be overreacting to this season. I get that they had some issues at the start and may end up having more issues later on and right now they are trying a lot harder and not winning that easily etc etc, these are all valid opinions.
But, I also believe that they are still by far the best team right now and not really thinking that they will change it anytime soon. If you ask me it is going to end up with something that would be a lot harder for them to keep on losing, and should be something that will result with their championship in the end. There are some other good teams now, and they are doing fine, but that doesn't mean that they are going to end up with a title, all those teams are trying to be in the top four if you ask me and nothing more. This is not bad, being second is still a ton of money.
I thought that Rennes would make it difficult for PSG to win away from home this time, but PSG didn't stop scoring goals. Vitinha, Hakimi and Kolo Muani were PSG's goal scorers in this match and even though Mbappe didn't score, at least his team-mates could help win this time. PSG rose to 3rd place and they have the same points as Brest. Next week PSG will definitely win again and it looks like we will see the defending champions will soon occupy their throne again. |

Wow, damn ! With 17 shots attempted and 77% ball possession, Leipzig could not score against a team currently in the relegation zone. This is a really bad day for Leipzig, and also on my betting agenda today. On paper, and also in terms of performance Leipzig is better, but why Bochum so difficult to beat today? Even, they didn't concede a single goal in this match.
Sometimes you can as good as possible and even then if you have no luck and the other team is also playing as best they can it happens. Saddly that Leipzig has not won against Bochum as my bet also is ruined by that draw that they played today. And don't forget: Leipzig missed 2 penalties. I was really annoyed about that. My bet today was only lost because of Leipzig but that's just football. In principle the game was one-sided and yet Leipzig couldn't score. They were just very unlucky. Leipzig should be able to win if they succeed in converting the two penalties into goals, but what we hope for sometimes just goes away. Many people certainly didn't expect a goalless draw because Leipzig could actually win this match. Maybe they should practice more on taking penalties so that similar incidents don't happen again. Too bad he didnt score the penalty at the end, Joselu didnt score it. The opportunity for Bellingham to win the Ballon D'or does exist and is even very possible. He is a phenomenal figure like Haaland or Mbappe, but he still needs consistency over the seasons to be able to compete with the other players. When he was at Dortmund perhaps his exposure wasn't as big as now when he was at Real Madrid, so every time he does something extraordinary by defending the best team in the world the media will very often start to highlight him. Today in the evening game between Gladbach at home against Mainz i guess and think that Gladbach has a big chance to win this match.

The home side have the chances of winning this game but the Mainz team who are still knocking and looking for their first win of this campaign will try their best to see if this game will end in a draw or if they can squeeze out a win which is not possible to me. With the first half ending in a 1-1 draw I feel in the second half, the home team will come out with a lot of fire power to get more goals and if this game is going to the home side I expect to see 2 more goals from them because they're not going to relax until the away team get the balls from the back of the net. Currently Mainz has managed to make a comeback and soon the match will end. Mainz must maintain this advantage if they want to steal 3 points from Gladbach's cage and of course it will be quite a loss if Gladbach loses again in this match, because last week they just won their first win. It's a big joke if you think Mbappe will join Manchester City, they already have Haaland. While Arsenal is lack of striker, but Arsenal can't afford to pay the signing fee + salary for Mbappe, so it's impossible. Mbappe will 100% join Real Madrid, we only don't know when it happen. However it's wrong if you say PSG is dominating, check Ligue 1 now, PSG is currently in fifth position, Mbappe is still struggling in Ligue 1 without Messi, Neymar and Sergio Ramos. As far as I know, there has been no interest from Manchester City in bringing in Mbappe and indeed after getting Haaland they no longer need a striker who is equal to him. There were rumors that Arsenal were interested in Mbappe, but it seems that Mbappe doesn't want to be in a team that has difficulty winning titles every season. Mbappe's only hope is to go to Real Madrid, but everyone doesn't know when this will happen and it will be shocking news if the transfer is realized.
