Does MtGox make money per trade? If so, is it a flat fee or do they take a percent?

Interesting, I started a website called politileaks http://www.politileaks.com

In the same vein as wikileaks but for exposing politicians.

Hasn't really caught on much as I don't populate it much.

If you'd like me to put a link to your site on mine I will, I've hardly got the market cornered on people blogging because they're pissed off about corruption.

That would be great. Thanks!

I haven't set up external links yet but I'll link to yours when I do.

What is the process for withdrawing it from mtGox?

Is there a fee?

From what I have seen you can sign up for a dwolla account http://www.dwolla.org and tie your bank account to dwolla.

Then you can buy bitcoins on most of the exchanges directly from dwolla.

Haven't tried it yet though so I'm sure others have done it.

I have a quick question about the exchanges.

When you exchange your USD at an exchange such as mtGox do you get bitcoins into your wallet or do they hold it in some sort of mtGox wallet while keeping track of your account?
11288  Other / Beginners & Help / Can bitcoins be used for something else? on: June 26, 2011, 11:20:28 PM
One of the major arguments I see against bitcoins is that they have no value outside of just being a currency, which requires that people have faith in it for it to continue or else it fails.

Well, I kinda understand the hashing thing but not too much. But couldn't the work being done by the terabytes of processor speed be used for something else?

Like some outside source uses the results of all of this for something beyond just as an effective currency.

I don't know what that could be outside of a very elaborate random number generator or such...but if it could then that would ensure that it would continue on for a long time.

Just a thought. If I knew more about it I'd have better ideas.

So, you report it as income when you receive it.

Just as you do when you sell something on e-bay and on craigslist.
