701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Stories! on: June 20, 2018, 12:01:24 PM
A friend from work has a gambling problem and he banned himself from the Brick n Mortar casinos. The security guards at the entrance will be informed from the CCTV operators when he arrives at the entrance and then they will deny him entrance.

He lost almost everything, including his wife and kids and this was the turning point for him. He told me that he realized that he had a problem, when he took the food budget to go gambling and his wife and kids had no money for food. They left and he had to pay for a expensive divorce and he has to pay Alimony or he will go to jail.

He has stopped completely and is working on resolving the broken bridges with his ex-wife and kids.  Sad
Really nice way to go about it for someone who is really ready to do so anyway. Banning oneself from casinos is actually one easy way to go about it but a very tough decision to make at the same time. However, this was the same thing that happened to a cousin of mine as well. The thing is after losing most times, there will always be this sober state for most of the gamblers, and this is the best time to always make some concrete decisions to be able to get out of it and decisions like this is one of them.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how long you can stay without gambling? on: June 19, 2018, 07:00:24 PM
The longest I could last without gambling was roughly a week.

This is not a good thing for you because it means you are addicted to gambling and the reason is obviously you are making it as a source of income from it rather than to enjoy and make it fun. How much have you won or loss till date and from how many years you are into gambling?
Not a good thing at all. I can imagine what that would be like for most of the people in his shoes. No one is perfect, but I believe that when it is becoming a problem to stay out of gambling for a very long time, and being frequent in the shortest possible amount of time, then, there is a huge fire on the mountain which could spread like a wildfire.

It is important to always see gambling as an occasional activity with a lot of gap than seeing it as a frequent one to be able to stay good.
703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there an only reason for the current market? on: June 19, 2018, 06:27:58 PM
What do you think? Is there just one or many? Which ones?

The regulations that many governments around the world are implementing, the "persecutions" that many banks are doing against bitcoin, The social networks have taken tough stances against bitcoin because according to them they still lack clear regulation, the visa and mastercard are also other companies that have taken a tough stance against bitcoin because according to them still lack clear regulation, See that to countries like Japan and South Korea have adopted tough stances on the exchange. so these factors are reducing the demand for bitcoin and consequently the price is falling every day.
I really want to believe that the regulation is really not helping and until we started seeing some lenient regulations in most of the place before we may start seeing some possibilities of FUD being reduced in a way. Apart from that, we had a huge rally last year and we all knew that was just a FOMO rise and not some pretty real demand. To me, this is the aftermath of it which is something to expect anyway in cases like this. The value I believe may still even fall more than this but the long term anyway is still great.
704  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will explode! on: June 19, 2018, 05:37:26 PM
Sudden price decrease keeps happening these past few days and the same scenario happens last year before the hard fork in August.
I feel something will happen few months for now, and I think a great pump which will mark another history will have to explode soon.
I want to be positive on this and keep my investment growing. How bout you guys?
Do not be too much in a haste. When the time comes we will all get to see if there would be a huge pump or not but for now, it is best to just relax and get to see how events will end up unfolding. Bitcoin will definitely explode but we are not ready to give it enough time for doing so. That is the actual problem with all of us.

I am not a fan of assuming what the future holds anyway since we cannot read it, and thinking about some possibilities when we are in a downtrend is more like dreaming too much and expecting the best in a worse condition in the short term. At least, let's get out of it first.
705  Economy / Economics / Re: New investor and prices on: June 19, 2018, 05:02:27 PM
Big money moves prices. Small speculants and investors do not affect on a price so we see trends just when big money buy or sell. It is essential to understand further actions of big investors and speculants.

New investors will provide the needs of the prices in the market, speculators also will be a big help in spreading positive news about the forum, more investors will give crypto a huge potential when it comes to market prices and other stuffs.
New investors are necessary for the market, and new investors will only invest money in bitcoin if they will get confident and will consider their investment as safe and profitable, so we need to give good support to bitcoin price so that it may not fell down any more, and new investors can easily be attracted, so that they can invest money in bitcoin.
Right, most of these large financial investors really still see the market as a highly tampered market and unregulated which makes it easy for anyone to just decide to drive the price the way they wants through manipulations.

Yes, we cannot expect this to go on forever, and I am sure the institutions are looking for the right time to set in and at least have a good position in the market as time goes on. It will really tell well on not just the prices but also on the volatility rate of bitcoin which I believe is going to reduce a whole lot.
706  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Future of Economy! on: June 19, 2018, 12:53:08 PM
So my question is can bitcoin be a main currency of world economy?
It will become the main currency for crypto economy but not for world economy.

There's a long debate on how will bitcoin going to overtake the currency worldwide but there's a long way to go before it will go there. Dollar will stay and bitcoin will be it's rival and alternative choice for people who wants to stay anonymous.

It is also depending the legality of bitcoin of that certain country. Some stated that it couldn't happen that it become a world currency due to current currency of every country which economy rely on it.
Irrespective of the legality which is something that would be in place in the long run anyway with governments all over the world coming with their own regulations one way or the other but we cannot expect the government of each country to start adapting bitcoin fully as a currency in replacement of their own centralized form of currency or simply put government replacing centralization with decentralization, I don't see this happening in anyway.

Bitcoin is all set to impact the economy of every country. Because when more people from one country start adopting it, it will give consequences in fiat circulation as people may start exchanging bitcoins within them for goods and services. Future of any country's economy will be decided by bitcoin for sure.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Can human stupidity affect the movement of the market? on: June 19, 2018, 12:23:34 PM
News in the media can influence people's opinions These news can be untrue We have to choose who to believe for example I do not believe gossip and trust only reliable and proven sources..
We have seen the display of human stupidity generally in this market so many times and as much as we hate it, there is nothing we can do since it is a decentralized and unregulated market.

Well, unregulated at least for now. We know greed is the center of human nature and some are just so much stupid to the level that they are never pleased with what they have and would want every form of manipulation to get more which I believe is a lot of things we have noticed in this market already.
708  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experts Reduce End of Year Forecast for Bitcoin. on: June 18, 2018, 03:46:59 PM
Words are changing gradually and they call themselves an expert, lol. No sane expert will be predicting the future of a market as this because there is just nothing to predict. The market can change in situation at any time and the best thing is to just follow it through by monitoring the trend. The market looks like it is set to go down more as it is now and based on how low it gets will determine how hard it is to get back to the previous ATH before the end of the year.
709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Need money... on: June 18, 2018, 03:11:06 PM
Funny enough, he was not even begging but the topic is probably  a little bit confusing. I must say he is in a pretty dip shit however, as the market is red, he is in huge loss I guess since his investment must be in red and now being pushed to want to withdraw what he has. The decision is only for him to take as no one can actually help with that.

If what he wants to use it for is something that just needs to be done urgently and no other means to achieve that, then he sure does not have any choice. We must understand that trading is not a quick way of making money but definitely a better way for making huge amount of money. If anyone who is unable to distinguish difference between these two then trading is not a suitable one for him.
710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help! Growing $200 to $5000 in 30 Days on: June 18, 2018, 02:09:04 PM
That mean you need 25 times profit in amonth, i think this is very hard to make it, i just know crypto can offer maximum 10 times profit in amonth and that only happen in bullish market. Try to multiple it in binary option trading but the risk also will be very high there.
Bad thing for him that we are not even in a bullish market until further notice, and he is even finding a way to quickly make that happen and that would send in so much emotion eventually for him. If he can buy into some of the coins or tokens in their dip now, it would be a good chance but he should better be very careful as this is a volatile market and he should be patient enough for it and not be in a rush to make quick money as crypto market is not built for that unless he just gets lucky.
711  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Digital Currency Take Over on: June 16, 2018, 07:52:44 PM
i think cryptocurrency will not take over the market, because in some country, they banned cryptocurrency...
I am pretty sure that cryptocurrency just altenative way to us to do some transaction, money will last forever, i guess....
Not everybody in the whole world know about crypto and not everybody had tools they need to do so...
Well it is modern age by the way, where almost everyone is educated and they better know about the ups and down of bitcoin market, it is need of everyone life, people are in need of facilities and bitcoin is the most facilitating currency so I think gradually bitcoin is taking over the world economy, most of people knows now bitcoin as it is the most wanted currency now and people are preferring to use it than cash money.
Modern age does not mean the banks themselves will not evolve as I believe eventually they will explore the opportunities surrounding blockchain and that would make it easy for them to also blend in a way and that brings about the possibility that digital currency may actually be taking over paper currency in the long run but that would take some time. No one should mistake this however with the idea of crypto eradicating the banks, because that is not going to happen.
712  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather see steady growth in Bitcoin or strong upward spikes instead? on: June 16, 2018, 12:37:20 PM
strong upward spikes indicate that btc is a bubble to lure people into investing then a huge selling , but for a healthy chart you should see steady increase in price .

Market is Volatile, anything can happened in the market at any given time, the price value of Bitcoin can goes up and down, no one can predict on the movement on the trading market, Yet, Bitcoin remain on the top among ALT coin, this indicate that what ever price movement on the market is just a normal thing not only on Bitcoin, but instead it goes with other crypto in the market or in the Stock market. Bitcoin price stabilized after the market glitz or some say a Bubble. Market correct itself on the market treed.
Well, it seems you did not even understand the question here before commenting. We all know the price is volatile and since it is a decentralized market, there is simply nothing we can do about it. However, it should be understood that huge spikes is never good for anyone as it brings a lot of emotion into the market and before you know it, it may actually get tagged as more of a P&D market.

We need real growth, we need development and in a very swift and good way, and all these huge spikes are distractions which makes steady growth to be far better. I guess no sensible bitcoiner will be preferring spikes and OP is just mentioning it here for debate purposes alone.
713  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculation on BTC on: June 16, 2018, 11:19:03 AM
If you're a long term holder or have a high cost basis, you should be worried about this. What's more worrying still is that the "users" that spiked the price last year were nothing more than speculators looking to get rich. Compared to the number of people buying bitcoin, the number of people actually using it is only a small fraction of that. Metcalfe's Law contemplates value related to legitimate utility, which speculators don't play much of a role in, if any. The spike we saw in 2017 was not sustainable and not legitimate use of the bitcoin as a currency or medium of exchange, which is where any value under Metcalfe's Law would come into play.
Honestly, it is actually becoming worrisome as it would get to a point where bitcoin will only become more of a speculative asset with the way the price is being manipulated either in spikes or downward trend, which would make it hard for anyone to even end up believing or coming to terms with the real life usage as a currency eventually and to me that does not make any sense as that real life usage will always help sustain its value in a way, otherwise we will just keep having a pump and dump market in our hands.
714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price manipulation on: June 16, 2018, 10:35:27 AM
it happens all the time and the price manipulation can mean pump and dump which we see clearly in anywhere in social media where you pay fees to them, .
We can't just put all our blame into the people doing such actions that causes price fluctuations because in the first place, this is not the only reason having market change.  FUDs also take some effect into it,  but if we don't even play their game,  they actually won't succeed. But sadly some of us just got tempted and full of worries when they saw market turning into red and then easily throw their coins in cheap.
Who are the people that you think use those FUDs to their advantage and could even be the source of that news at times ? The whales or will I say the market manipulators. The essence is to drive the market to their advantage. They have all it takes to do that, they have the capital to buy in at the moment they want, they know as long as the market move in the direction they want, it makes a lot of sense for them and so far that we have a lot of weak hands in the market and a decentralized unregulated market, it makes it so easy for them.
715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some realy fu**ing good News. (...don't sell!) on: June 15, 2018, 08:18:29 PM
There are good news almost daily. But there is some rich circle that wants to see Bitcoin going down, so they can buy cheaper.
You have said it all. This is one main reason why fundamental analysis is not even working in the market as you get to see the price not even going in direction with the whole news going on in the market and then you kept wondering who are those selling with all these positive vibe and news that is supposed to create a huge market upward movement, and this simply is just the best explanation for it.

I really hope good news usually have that much of an impact on btc price as everything is manipulated anyway, so in a way, fundamentals just do not work that much as well as TA and all you have to do is to find a way to play safe in the market. As it is, the market simply tends toward negative speculations than anything positive and if you look at the media, they simply do not even help out in any case as all they are just after is being carriers of bad news.
716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has now gone 173 days without a new high. on: June 15, 2018, 07:42:16 PM
I still feel like its not enough to clean bitcoin's price. As you already said yourself bitcoin needed 1000 days to reach its former all time high. I think it will be shorter this time but 173 day waiting is nothing.
173 days is actually nothing, but who cares anyway, bitcoin is still going to be having the up and down fluctuations even in between the longer time frame down trend, and that is enough. Also, at least we will end up having some sanity for a while before we start seeing more days of huge green and that as well is something to be happy for. How many days it is going to take before we start experiencing new highs is something we cannot know but at least time will tell. I am still seeing the possibilities to have new high within this year. It means those 173 may not count up to 365.
717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to take profit in Trading on: June 15, 2018, 06:03:39 PM
i use to sell my coins when i have already achieved a good profit from my bought, that is the only way to make a succesfull trade while you really want to make a good scalping (but you need to be fast to be able to catch the profits)

The best time to start earning in trading is the time when the worth of your portfolio id more than the initial value of your coins. If you have invested in Bitcoin or ETH, you should hold or trade this portfolio for long run. If you have Litecoin, ripples etc then short run trading when the value of your portfolio rise high is actually the time to get benefit in trading.
The best time to earn or take profit in crypto is actually the time when the worth of your portfolio is more than the initial price of your portfolio. This means that you should only cash and trade your coins if the market looks good and you can earn the money goal you had set before actually starting the business. Once you find good margin of profit in your investment, you can go big in trading as well.
Sometimes though, the worth may end up far more than when you are leaving and that can leave you in an emotional state. I would say the best way to know how to leave the market is to learn how to trade.

You cannot get it better than that and that would help you to find a strategy, know how to read indicators to your benefit, combine it with some technical analysis, use price action to depict what could be the next possible movement in a market. Without that, you are just going to be gambling your position.
718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHAT ARE THE BEST SITES OR APPS TO START TRADING? on: June 15, 2018, 05:19:36 PM
I would recommend reading basics of trading first.
Exchange platforms I am using without a problem and can recommend are:

1.Binance.com
2.Bitfinex.com
3.Poloniex.com
3.Kucoin.com

If you want to buy Crypro with Fiat I suggest:
1.Cex.io
2.Kraken

For tracking prices, the best site is coinmarketcap.com
Good mobile apps for portfolio management: Delta and blockfolio.
Are these mobile apps for iOS and Android devices?
Those are exchange platforms and not mobile apps. You will need to be registered on any of them first to be able to trade cryptocurrency and I hope your friends know how to trade, because these are some of the things that are online that I expect anyone to have been at least familiar with before going ahead to start trading cryptocurrency in the first place as it entails a lot.

After registering on an exchange, I would consider using applications like tab trader if you are looking for a good mobile app and then make use of your API to trade on any of the exchanges like bittrex or binance. I really do not always fancy using the mobile app of the exchanges directly anyway for the purpose of doing analysis.
719  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does IQ greatly affect a person's success in trading? on: June 15, 2018, 12:30:37 PM
Nope. All IQ means is the ability to pass IQ tests. That's it.

You could be the most intelligent person in the world but a useless trader if you have no control over your emotions. Maybe being a little dull upstairs makes you better. You won't be swayed by theoretical possibilities. You'll stick to your moves.

Control over your emotions is the one thing above all you need. Not many have it.
Yes, IQ is totally based on general intelligence and trading is a profession on its own which would need to be studied to get better at. The same way not all persons with a high IQ will do very well in medicine or being a lawyer or other profession is the same way not everyone with high IQ will do well in trading.

Every profession comes with the zeal to want to learn, the attributes you have that somehow would work well with that profession, and IQ is just a measure of intelligence like you said, and not a guarantee that you would succeed in everything.
720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to take profit in Trading on: June 15, 2018, 11:45:19 AM
Cryptocurrency Trading is fun and captivating especially when you are always up with profit no matter the situation of the market, of course who wouldn't be happy when you are successful in what you do?
The best time to take trading profit totally depends on your own strategy and when you feel it is a good enough time for you to take profit. The thing with taking of profit is that you cannot always have it 100% and the market will always be one step ahead which makes it impossible to time the market. However, with the use of indicators and TA, one can at least have a strategy to stick with so as to be able to make the best of the market as the case may be.
