somebody gave me a small donation last night of 0.0001 bitcoins last night, and i have the donation wallet is the same for a member id of a website i'm developing, and i haven't had a chance to tweek the accounting portion of the code yet. i didn't realize that the number was in sotashi units, and i looked at the deposit through my website, and it said the account was 10000 btc. i almost shit my pants. for almost a half hour i thought somebody donated $50000 dollars! LMFAO! once i figured out what acctually happened, my whole world sank into a pit of dispair... woe is me Tongue

just to clarify... i am not this guy. it is just a coincidence that his website says he is developing a chess platform, and so am i. i am providing identification credentials to matthew n wright and we WILL resolve this issue. please no bad press, kthxbai ^^
83  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New gaming site in the works. on: May 07, 2012, 03:39:01 AM
well it turns out matthew did have significant evidence to accuse me of being this said "coinexchange", and my mind is totally blown by this. i told him that i seriously don't know what to say. really all i can do is hope the information i provided him with is enough to convince him that it is just a coincidence, and also that i'm sorry for jumping his shit over this. i'm seriously at a loss of words. if there is any way i can prove to him and the community that i am not this guy, and am not acting in his interest, then i am open to suggestions from anyone.
84  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building up the ‘Community’ part of the ‘Bitcoin Community’ on: May 07, 2012, 03:29:59 AM
the alias "drknow" it's just an alias. and the credibility i am talking about is the one i WAS building before you tried to tarnish it. it hasnt really been established yet, but i was working on it. and the last thing i need is someone making false claims before he has all the facts. so, again, thank you for making me out to be the villain. now i've put you in the position of power, and you can do with it as you please. but just know that you'd be damaging an innocent player in the bitcoin game if you choose to abuse it. i hope you won't share the sensitive information i provided you with. just remember how much power you have, and try to avoid abusing it in the future.

it was a pm

Yes, I would like that very much since I can use that verify not your only ID, but run it against CoinExchanger's ID whom I already have.

Then I'd know you're not CoinExchanger. The problem then would be proving if the SSN belonged to you or someone else who lent it to you.

What state do you live in?
86  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building up the ‘Community’ part of the ‘Bitcoin Community’ on: May 06, 2012, 11:15:37 PM
well you seem to know him pretty well, do you think it's safe to entrust him with my ssn, because he asked for it and i gave it. i'm not too happy about it either...
87  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building up the ‘Community’ part of the ‘Bitcoin Community’ on: May 06, 2012, 09:31:20 PM
on that note, (nice post btw), i was just accused of being a scammer by one of this communities hero members, Matthew N. Wright, and he has yet to tell me what the basis of this was. i reported him to the moderators, and sent him a pm with all my personal information so my identity could be verified. you can view the thread for yourselves.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79730.0
his post doesn't seem too accusing now because i sent him an angry pm and he agreed to change his accusatory post to something of the less. regardless, i think that members with valid credibility in the community have a responsibility to make sure they know what they're talking about before they tarnish someone else's. i'm really concerned about it, my credibility is short lived as it is.

just a thought  Undecided

Lol, I'm really sorry, I totally thought this was the chess thread. And I thought I was derailing THAT by talking about chess variants.
heh, no worries, it's still a gaming thread. any more thoughts just go ahead and post them, i'm sure that the viewers are also interested in the chess project anyways. Smiley

Is CoinExchanger finally back?

a report has been claimed to the moderators and once my identity is verified, all will be well. no worries folks Smiley

in the mean time, i'd like to get this thread back on topic. (trying not to come across overly pissed atm, even though i am) the reason this thread was created was not to discuss my chess website, i'll do that when it's done. but to discuss a potential project in the works based on game engines for various multiplayer games. games varieties like ctf, tdm, and ffa where everybody enters in and winner(s) take all (minus a small commission to keep the website running) like i said earlier, coding the website isn't a problem, what i want to know is if this community thinks it would be a success. do people want to compete in games like this, is there room for an affiliate program, are there ways to prevent cheating, such as punk buster running on the servers, are there affordable servers out there for multiple gaming platforms? all of these would be great issues to discuss. also, don't let this guy ruin my rep, it is short-lived at the moment. i AM new to this website, and bitcoins in general, but that doesn't mean i dont understand it and know how to use it. i'm trying to prove that i am a capable and honorable developer. remember, judge not lest ye be judged Tongue

at the moment i'm a little busy with other projects, and i was really just trying to scare you Smiley

it seems like an interesting service. what do you think you could do with it?
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need someone to work on Bitcoin-Postal Mail project with me on: May 06, 2012, 06:49:13 PM
i might be interested, but i would need more information. it sounds like your either hiding something or you're protecting your idea. you can pm me with details and i'll tell you how i can help, or if you could simply post them on this thread, i'm sure others would provide some insight as well.
I don't want everyone to steal my idea, but I guess its all publicly available on the web.  Lemme edit the thread.
Edit:
Edited.

i suggest you re edit your thread, and remove the link to your resource. resources are assets, including information assets. i myself had no idea this website existed until you posted it, and now nothing will stop me from creating a project of my own using the api services provided by the resource you just listed.

my point, keep your resources, but share your ideas. Smiley

Ha, thanks. I am full of ideas, but I don't code.

I could support my chess variant idea with some money.

well, donations are always welcome, i'll add my wallet id to my sig in a second, but as far as adding these varients, i just want to focus on getting the api functionality working before i start tweeking. i had an idea about anti botting also, and it would be fairly easy to implement. i'd rather not post my method though... if you really want to donate though, just create an account on the site and launch an affiliate campaign of your own, i would still get a cut from the games played and you would too, if you register strong players that is.  Grin
95  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New gaming site in the works. on: May 06, 2012, 05:47:48 PM
well that's what the affiliate program would be used for. for instance, when a new member joins using my affiliate code, or any one elses for matter, the affiliate holding that reference number would be credited by the affiliate who issued it, as a promotional campaign. you seem full of ideas on this btw. would you be interested in becoming a partner? how well are you at html and php coding?
96  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New gaming site in the works. on: May 06, 2012, 04:55:50 PM
sounds pretty great acctually. but i'm not looking to entice noobies, i want people who actually know how to play chess and want to compete. i could set up player history statistics so they can choose if they want to accept an invitation from a player that has never lost a game. that way it would be balanced. i dunno though, but that's off the topic of this thread. this thread is for a competitive gaming site for counter strike, team fortress, etc. server tracking, php reading log files of servers, determining winners and dispersing bitcoins from an escrow account. the chess was just my first, but this is what i really want to do.

Sure, sorry to derail your thread. Going to do it one more time.

You should look into the state of chess betting. People don't really do it. Yeah, in the park in NYC a tourist will pay $5 to say they got hustled or whatever. It's completely different that something like poker. The weakest player will know right away they are weakest and drop out and that will continue.

I also don't think chess noobies would be very interested in my idea, but stronger players who feel they can adapt better than other strong players. And you don't have to worry about bots unless the money gets very large because there are no bots programed to move the night 3-1. Making a new variant every so often keeps the uncertainty around longer and people can convince themselves that they have insights into it. Also everyone will be learning faster so again they can tell themselves that yeah, they just lost, but now they understand a lot better.

Ok, I'll let that go now. Let me know when it's up and running and I'll donate a little to some stronger player.

np man, will do. like i just said to the "hero member" i still have to test the api functionality. just to make sure the escrow accounts transfer properly when a game has been resolved. i'll send you a pm so you can take a look at it and share your insights. just don't fund your account yet. there is also an affiliate program so you can refer players and earn a commission.
97  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New gaming site in the works. on: May 06, 2012, 04:40:55 PM
what kind of information do you need? if you want the address to the site, it isn't available yet. i still have to test the api functionality (waiting for mtgox to credit my account) once i have fully tested it, i'll post the site. but i'd rather not give my personal information, if that's what you mean. i will if asked by the moderators though, i do appreciate the support bitcointalk.org provides.
