Det koster MYE å holde sånne kontrakter åpne over lang tid. Husker fra når jeg tradet bitcoins selv. Betalte over 6 prosent i gebyrer kun for å holde den åpen i 14 dager. Du kan også vurdere futures hvis du skal ha langsiktig dekning. Med futures tjener du hvis prisen går over eller under nivået som er avtalt i kontrakten, på x-dato frem i tid.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I succeed as a trader in 2024 on: January 09, 2024, 05:35:35 PM
As we enter the 2024, many people are making plans on how to achieve financial success and personally I have decided that trading will be one of my area of focus. I'm gathering information on how to go about it. Your opinion will be highly appreciated.

I used to trade actively. Both market swings and with my own bots written in .py.

It's a really tough game, but you can certainly make money if you have adequate know-how. The market is almost saturated at this point and I'd say the only remaining opportunities, at least for arbitrage, is to find more esoteric markets, denominated in foreign currencies. This involves a triangular trade, in which crypto is exchanged between foreign currencies, and will require hooking it up to a currency converter with low latency. Adding to this, there might also be opportunities in those places where market makers get paid. That is: You'll receive commission for offering liquidity. With the right setup, you can definitely exploit the arbitrage here.

This doesn't qualify as trading per se, but it's the one area I found some success. It used to be that you could hook up to Twitter's deck and trade contracts depending on recent news. It'd take the market 2-3 minutes to react, but that time is now limited to seconds. I suspect it's been automated as well, with triggers for certain phrases.

Best of luck, brother.
4  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase supposedly licensing software to the IRS. Thoughts? on: June 17, 2020, 02:10:39 AM
Coinbase supposedly licensing blockchain analytic software to the IRS so they can navigate the blockchain with ease. https://decrypt.co/31461/coinbase-wants-to-identify-bitcoin-users-for-dea-irs

I think that's absolutely fine. More power to the IRS. I want tax evaders to get caught with their pants down. They're stealing from me and everyone else when they shirk on their tax contributions.

Probably not the answer you wanted to hear though   Roll Eyes
5  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Need help with Coinbase on: June 17, 2020, 02:03:49 AM
I just opened a Coinbase (CB) account. I purchased 0.0125BTC or $119.56 according to the internet. My issue is trying to send the total I bought to my Electrum account so I can make a payment online. I don't use BTC very often, so I'm not that familiar with how these various BTC work.

When I try to send to my Electrum account with my wallet address. The CB send link tells me I only have $4.78 available to send? My Portfolio Balance is $119.82. Pending deposits-$115.01. Available to send $4.82? I have no clue what this "Pending deposits-$115.01" means?

Pending deposits
Some of your funds may be temporarily unavailable while we wait for your deposits and purchases to be completed. Learn more
BTC Buy on Jun 15, 2020
Available to send in 10 days
$115.01

Why isn't the BTC I purchased available to send right away...........why do I have to wait 10 days?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Sumguy.

There is a very simple explanation for this. Only purchases made by VISA are made instantly available on your account. If you use ACH deposit (in which you buy Bitcoin before Coinbase withdraws it from your account), then you must wait for 10 days for the funds to clear. In the meantime, Coinbase freezes your bitcoin, so you can't transfer it elsewhere. However, you may sell it for cash.

The reason your balance displays: 4.76 USD available, is because your BTC has increased in value, compared to the USD you bought it for. Hence why you can withdraw that money.

It's a real pain in the a**, and one of the reasons why I quit using Coinbase. Well, that and a non-existing customer service team.

Hope this helps.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will IOTA do better in future? on: May 30, 2018, 04:29:43 PM
Hi, I was planning to put some of my money into IOTA in this current market dip. But a bit confused thinkg whether it will be a good idea or not. Could you please share your experience or suugestion, I should follow before finalizing the investment plan.

Hi James.

I personally consider IOTA to be in the forefront of the crypto "arms-race", along with NANO. However, be prepared for wild price swings, in which it could easily dip back to 40 cents.

Before I continue, I'll share my prediction with you. 99,9% of all coins will likely die out, much like the Dinosaurs did 65 million years ago. Only a handful of today's crypto currencies have what it takes to blossom and gain "real value" in the future. I like to think of it as a forest fire, that wipes out everything. From the ashes those with true potential will grow..

But enough with the metaphores..

IOTA will likely succeed due to the following:
1. A strong team. They constantly attract skilled people, which is one of the best predictors of a project's future success. It's also a non-profit organization, not driven merely by greed (as many crypto projects are).
2. Free asset transfers. The Tangle is certainly not perfect, but the ability to transfer IOTA's for free is a gigantic advantage that most do not fully seem to appreciate.
3. The Internet of Things is real. It will become a big factor in the future. I just don't know if it will take 10,20 or 50 years. IOTA is positioning itself to be a leader within this market.

If you decide to invest in IOTA, here are a few pointers that may help you:
1. Invest for the long term (say 10-20 years).
2. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Meaning you should spread the investment out.
3. Do not listen to the shills that proclaim $100 within 1 year etc. Familiarize yourself with the IOTA supply versus market cap.
4. Never use a password generator site. I repeat never use a password generator that you find online. Create the seed on your own laptop, or type it down manually in a random matter. Otherwise you will likely get scammed.

I also wrote a guide on how to buy iota over at Medium.com. It may be of help if you're just getting into this. You can check it out here: https://medium.com/@llindstad12/how-and-where-to-buy-iota-ultimate-guide-of-2018-6e361dfeef3f
