21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Politicians that you can bribe using bitcoin on: July 26, 2018, 02:15:10 PM
"Bribe" or "donation" is the question of wording. And it doesn't really matter. That's the use case and that's the adoption. I think it's great. It's not about ethics here. It's like situation with guns - criminal will always find a way to obtain one, and lawful citizen fully depends on the local law here.

23  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade for money or emotional satisfaction? on: July 19, 2018, 12:45:42 PM
Both are important for me. There are plenty of easier ways to make money, but I like games. And what is the better game than to test your ability to analyze when something real is at stake? Not to mention this feeling when you're not completely sure in coin until it starts going up?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to minimize the risk of being scammed. on: July 19, 2018, 12:40:58 PM
After reading their whitepaper then ask yourself these questions:
1. Does the document make sense to you? (Did you get a picture of the whole idea they are talking about?)
2. Is project going to provide any real solution to any problem? (scam projects usually provide vague solutions which normally does not point out the blockchain aspect in it)
3. Is the document having original contents (scam projects usually copy people's work)
4. How old is their official website (most scam projects usually have new websites)
5. What has the team done already towards the project.(scam projects usually do not have any detailed roadmap)
6. Check the team's profile on linkedIn and also their number of connections. (fake ones usually have low and no real connections.)
7. Check the token distribution. Is there equity and equality? (the scam ones usually allocate higher percentages to the team)
8. Did they give any abnormal price speculations? (i joined one bounty(Crestonium) who promised 3 times profit within 6 months else they are going to refund investors monies back to them. They ended up being a scam)

No matter how vigilant you are, you can still get scammed but at least, you can reduce the risk of being scammed. Enjoy your day

9. Is there math and tech in whitepaper or only words?
10. Should the solution to the problem described in WP really be decentralized? Maybe traditional DB or website will do the trick?
11. Does the token has any real value in the upcoming project or is it for example just a discount token/any other trash?
12. How much competitors will the project have?
13. Is the team capable of making everything they promise or is it too small/unprofessional for the task?
25  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical or fundamental analysis: what is the best choice? on: July 19, 2018, 12:17:36 PM
I agree with TS. But you should not underestimate technical analysis too. Yes, it doesn't work as it should in crypto, but many people believe in it. Knowing what current technical analysis prediction is is knowing what this people believe in and how they will trade. And this is some very useful information.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is buying new listed coin profitable? on: July 19, 2018, 11:48:28 AM
Depends on coin. That's why we practice this odd thing called background check. The coin may become promising on ICO staqe, on listing... or after three hopeless years. News, price dynamics, recent achievements or succesfully performed goals from roadmap - everything matters.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money on: July 19, 2018, 11:34:15 AM
It's always the same shit. People do something incredible and then somebody comes and cry - regulate, I am afraid.

How much time will it take to understand that "regulated" means "controlled". And "controlled" means "belongs to someone else". And these someones are not wise wizards from fairy tales. They are people. As people they may be idiotic, corrupt, selfish, even criminal by their nature. And they have right to declare everyone they don't like terrorists, criminals and money launderers. Even now in 21th century there are much more jurisdictions on the Earth that you can't trust than the others.

The biggest invention of Nakamoto was finding a way to keep thieving bastards away from people's wallets. With crypto not only your thoughts$ your money too belong to you, not some G-man slaver that thinks you are his property.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEO still worth investing in? on: July 19, 2018, 11:09:58 AM
IMHO there's a huge possibility NEO is yesterday's news now. As far as I know last year it aimed to compete ETH, having a slightly advanced technology and  hope for becoming official "chinese ETH".

Today ICOs are out of the chinese market and ETH has competitors with far more modern tecnologies: ADA, EOS and Tezos. Maybe they're not strong enough to destroy ETH, but they are more than NEO can handle IMHO.
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Twitter is a double-edged sword on: July 19, 2018, 10:55:50 AM
May I correct you? "Internet". Not "Twitter". Though it's no different with offline. Paper doesn't make the words true, nor do the mouths. Some people lie. And ereryone makes mistakes from time to time.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has really come back? on: July 19, 2018, 09:50:12 AM
Hate to disappoint you, guys, but...

1) Technically speaking there was no price retest. That means we have no strong support level at $7200-$7300. Ergo if we won't fly to the moon soon we'll probably fall.

2) Price is something around $7400 now. We have had higher prices in February, March, May... Market didn't turn itself, we have won battle, not the war.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Altcoin price depend on BTC or ETH?? on: July 13, 2018, 10:01:39 AM
Altcoin price depends from BTC price. ETH price also depends from BTC price.
The formula is simple:
Bitcoin falls - altcoins fall
Bitcoin pumps - altcoins fall
Bitcoin stable - altcoins grow

Agreed. But also:

Market falls - new alt on the market will probably has a low price as it "base" support level in the future. Lower than ICO.
Market grows - new alt will have this main support level on higher than ICO price.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opera Launches New Browser Software That Includes Built-In Cryptocurrency Wallet on: July 13, 2018, 09:52:22 AM
Nice news for ETH and ERC-20 tokens, not so good for BTC. In terms of adoption it's a very big step. For millions of potentional new users ETH will be something what works in their browsers without installing anything.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market corrections are good on: July 11, 2018, 12:26:28 PM
Well, the really was a bubble. It's definetly better to make decent 20k one day, not on hype, that can be ruined so easily like happened. At least that is what rational part of my mind says.
But I'm not so rational as I want to be, so...It was fun in March, I admit, but where the hell is my lambo and when fricking moon?!
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe in ICO Ratings? on: July 11, 2018, 12:18:21 PM
I don't trust, when it comes to money. Analytics in ICO ratings are useful indicator because they show what people will think about the project. But they are not to be trusted. On the other hand information from such wevbsites like soft and hard caps, is there MVP and how much hype there is is worth checking and analysing.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ban in india on: July 11, 2018, 11:48:19 AM
Govs and banks may ban or permit something, but it's really not up to them to decide the future of crypto. History shows that a moment something becomes very big and adopted by majority govs are forced to give they permission. Or face the consequences that may wipe them out.

The only thing India really did - it gave the perfect opportunity to profit on arbitrage to the lucky bastards that knew about indian situation ( geez, if I only was one of them!) and dump the world cryptomarket a bit.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has gone to shit on: July 11, 2018, 11:25:31 AM
It's not about ideals anymore, it's about profit. People saw opportunities and rushed on crypto. But it's not that bad. It's adoption. By greedy people dreaming of x20 - but hey, weren't they first wave on all the frontiers in human history?
We just need a good altcoin crash - for decoupling and survival of the fittest projects. Funny, but it really is like dotcom bubble. Scam and weak should die for Google and Apple to prosper.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coin to invest? on: July 09, 2018, 11:26:50 AM
IMHO Tezos is quite promising. With strong community, interesting tech and cmc position in top-20 on start it can easily make 8$-10$ till september.

I also think that REQ won't fall anymore. It's already almost an ICO price and having PwC France (company from The Big Four) as partner gives a hope that this coin is going to rise again after tough winter and spring.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do ethereum compete with bitcoin? on: July 09, 2018, 11:02:48 AM
im just new to crypto and still studying it. But for me, they are in different nature. One is for payment and other is for applications or smart contract.
Not quite so. ETH is better for payment. Lower fees (of course when manipulators from EOS don't try to attack network with overpriced transactions) and faster transactions.

BTC is better when it comes to  long-time hold and when you need to sell your crypto for fiat. Much more people are ready to buy it.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do ethereum compete with bitcoin? on: July 09, 2018, 10:47:57 AM
ETH already has bitten bitcoin in terms of adoption and use cases.

How do you use BTC? For trading, hodl and storing profit. The latter isn't so actual after last six months.

How do you use ETH? Trading. ICO investments. Payments.

It's fast. It haqs smart-contracts infrastructure. And it has real world usage.

BTC has a huge marketing advantage of beeing The First One. Question is - will ETH usability overcome it before ETH itself will be bitten by something newer and better? Or maybe Lighting Network will turn the table?

We'll see.
