FYI:

BTW: I know how to fix it, just didn't need it until now because I didn't think such morons exist.

I have sent him a message via bitmessage as well as a pm here, and have yet to get a response.

Bitmessage not received, please check that it has been sent correctly, or resend it.

I am working behind the scenes on new hardware, with some plans to reduce power costs to almost zero.

Because of energy costs, in this period of time with a low value of bitcoins the mining activity is not very productive. Need some patience.

The site is currently not available because we're under DDOS. It will be reopened when the guy behind gets tired of sending a bunch of gigabit/s of trash to the webserver.

Pyra any update on the new hardware? How is the install coming along?

Yesterday I added 10TH/s and in the next three weeks I will be able to install 10TH/s each.

what is our current global rate, now that you mention it. Smiley

We are at about 25.5TH/s total. Old miners (around 5 TH/s) have been turned off because not worth the energy consumed.

Let's experiment with the commercial ad. It has been added to the profile page. If it will yield some results, everybody should enjoy it. If not, it will just be removed within one month.

and the plans for our referral links? what is the plan on starting new accounts again.

After the new miners will be operative, I will consider to reopen account creation and referrals. In the meantime I keep monitoring the growth of the global hashrate.

Small update:
New miners are almost ready, I'm working on the prototype and I'm ready to assemble the new units in 10 - 20 days.
Meanwhile someone contacted me on Bitmessage, proposing to advertise/bootstrap his service and receive in change 10% of their revenues (I would distribute this income exactly like if it has been mined), it may be an help to speed things up. I am evaluating if it's reliable and whether it's the case or not to accept his proposal since he is anonymous...

I read all your considerations (flames apart) and I will take everything into account for the imminent upgrade.

Pyra, how about pausing any accounts that are currently in profit (anything over their initial investment) so the rest of us have a chance.

It would be worse, because those accounts are still depositing/investing, helping everyone.

"Sell account" procedure fixed for those who were not been able to do it. Thanks for reporting.

If anyone will ever have troubles selling the account, please report the details in PM (address, message, signature).

Who did get back his inital investment with this?

There are actually 3755 deposits "completed" (it means they received the deposited amount + bonus), on ~11000 total deposits.

Little update: First of all I apologize for the long silence, I am still working on this project and I am building a plan for next generation miners. However before investing heavily on this, I am monitoring the rate of difficulty increase. If the rise keeps being so steep, it's not worth it to work so much in building the mining equipment and barely get the investment back (considering fiat value, things are worse for BTC). I am also working on other features to revive everything. I'll post updates as soon as there will be something new implemented or a decision about new hardware is made (with specs).

I read that someone is not able to "sell" the account. Please send me a PM with all details and I will check what's wrong.

Above me, there are several accounts with hundreds of BTC and which still have a long way to go to be complete.  As the whole Pyramining enterprise is generating a couple of BTC every few days, this will take literally years at current difficulty, and this makes no account for increasing difficulty or other accounts that are older than mine, which are not directly above mine (and mine date from mid 2012).  This is why I did not agree with the concept of applying high hash rate to only 10 accounts and not across the board.  Very few people will ever see any benefit from this.

I did some exploring in the accounts above me and I found a couple of 2000btc deposits, but they did have a decent % completed.
When I feel like delving into it, I am going to find a few hundred accounts and log their balance and completion %, but, even going off my initial unscientific math, and adding some fudge factor, its possible that the average completion is is 50% or so across the board.
I also ran some other #s and came up with an average account balance of 4.43 and average deposit size of 1.31.
Again, this is back of napkin math with publicly available #s.

I am fine with the hardware being split by X deposits, but considering the extremely large deposits still to finish, maybe he will see fit to increase the split to 20 or 30, that way there is a better chance of the smaller deposits getting some attention and as they finish then the hardware can be aimed at the early giant deposits, they have more than made a profit at the current exchange rate.

"huge" accounts are very few, fortunately, so the "10 oldest deposits" will not be filled by those ones. I am working on the new version of the site where there will be some stats available. However before dedicating too much time to the site, I want to finish installing new hardware. We are at ~23TH/s and in about ten days all 30TH/s will be deployed.

Quick update: the first payout was small because most of it went to cover up the last part of the hole.
There are some "stuck" transactions: after the wallet update there is a strange behaviour. However don't be alarmed, I am working to fix it. If you see a transaction in the logs but you don't see the transaction in the blockchain, it doesn't mean that your bitcoins are lost.

Well, that sucks for us early adopters (bit of a kick in the face), but I suppose it's necessary (or something like it) to get new people through the door.

If the new plan works as expected, through last generation hardware, it should become helpful to old accounts, too.

Site reorganization and new accounts reopening are a bit delayed because I am working on assembling/installing the new hardware (I think it's the most important task!).
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: April 13, 2014, 10:17:14 PM
We have almost reached 20TH/s of total hashing power, other 5TH/s are coming this week. Hopefully with better "luck" on the pool we should see payouts coming again starting from this week.

Old accounts are getting less performances because hashing power is no more split evenly across deposits, but it's allocated proportionally to the USD value at the time the deposit has been made. However newer accounts when completed will give their hashing power to old ones. Oldest 10 accounts are also getting a further bonus, in order to speed up completion of oldest accounts.

If P2Pool's bad luck keeps harassing us, I will gradually switch part of the miners somewhere else, however I think it's not a very good idea... P2pool is not broken and it should give the max profit.
