1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What the hell is a/the Lightning Network? on: April 29, 2017, 10:53:17 PM

LN allows two parties to transact between each other without having to make an on chain (and thus costly due to fees) transactions for each transaction that they want to perform. If two people were to make 5 transactions on an LN channel, instead of paying 5 transactions worth of transaction fees, they would only need to pay 2 transactions of transaction fees (opening and closing transaction).

Two people decide to make a LN payment channel. They make a transaction that sends Bitcoin to a 2-of-2 multisig address. Then they make another transaction which spends from the multisig address and sends Bitcoin to their own addresses. This second transaction is not broadcast. When one person in that channel pays the other person, they remake the second transaction and change the amount that their address will receive. Again, this transaction is not broadcast. They repeat that step as long as they want. When both people decide they no longer want to continue transacting with each other, the last transaction that they had created will be broadcast to the network and they will receive the Bitcoin back to their addresses to be used elsewhere.

LN transactions don't touch the blockchain until the channel is closed.

Channels are opened by both people in the channel sending some amount of Bitcoin to a 2-of-2 multisig address. Channels are closed by broadcasting a transaction which spends from the multisig address and sends some agreed upon amount of Bitcoin back to the addresses of the people in the channel. If any payments over the channel had occurred, then when the channel is closed, both people will likely have a different amount of Bitcoin coming out of the channel than they had put into the channel.

Miners and nodes are not directly involved in LN. However there can be LN nodes, i.e. people who have lots of channels open with other people so payments can be routed through him.

LN is one specification of a payment channel network. There can be others as well, and you can have LN payment channels without actually being connected to any other channel in "the network".

LN transactions are still Bitcoin transactions.

Makes sense. More straightforward than I would have guessed. It is basically a blockchain tranx that enables 0 time exchange of coins that both parties signed off on instead of the network signing off on the transx.

Is there any interest in applications that have LN enabled that parties can make an agreement based on set conditions lined out? Similar to smart contracts on ETH, but instead of the blockchain enforcing the contract, the LN regulates the conditions. When both parties sign the contract(actually sign each condition met,) then coins are exchanged. Correct?

What about "multi-party" transactions. Say I want to send 1 BTC to Alice, Bob, and Charlie. 0.4 to Alice, 0.5 to Bob, and 0.1 to Charlie. The current implementation does not allow this does it? Could this be alleviate with multiple keys signing off on my transx with a contract? Of course, if one of the third-parties refuses to sign, then the transx cannot commence, unless conditions say otherwise.
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / What the hell is a/the Lightning Network? on: April 29, 2017, 09:53:42 PM
I recently read a whitepaper on what seems to describe an implementation of Lightning Network on top of the Bitcoin Blockchain.

https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf

Going over the technical details and descriptions of LN, there are many things that I do not get:

1.) What exactly does the LN transx accomplish that a general transx fails to do?
2.) ELI5 the mechanics of LN and the transx that occur. How is the transaction validated onto the blockchain after coins are moved?
3.) What are channels? How does one "open/close" one? Can you create one?
4.) What incentives are there for miners/nodes on the network?
5.) Is there simply a single LN, or can there be several networks running concurrently alongside the blockchain?
6.) What is the bridge between LN and applications running alongside the blockchain?
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / ATTN: Casino Owners. I have an inquiry for a game. on: April 26, 2017, 01:44:47 AM
To all casino owners and operators:

I am looking to play a new and unique game that offers simplicity with the advantage of rapid Hands per Hour(HPP).

Since poker seems to be a good money maker for those interested in cards, I would love to see a new poker variety amongst the many casinos.

I am looking to play a PvP poker game, with both heads up and possibly n-handed tables.

The game goes as followed:

NOTE: ANYONE CAN USE THIS IDEA. IT IS A FREE CONCEPT.

First two players ante 1 unit to play.
Both players receive one card.
The first  player will ask the opposing player if they want to check or raise by 3x the ante.
The opponent makes their choice and the first player will either: 1)Check, 2;) Call if a raise was made, or 3) Fold their hand.
Both players will switch taking turns.

The player with the highest rank will win the pot.
The rankings go as followed: A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2
If players have similar ranks, they will push and will have their bets returned.

The game described above has elements of luck, strategy, and psychology that is unmatched in that it offers anyone with skill or luck to make money. Due to the fact that a single round is much quicker than the typical hold'em game means that rakes can become MUCH cheaper (think 0.05% per pot!) while still making similar amounts of cash as you would with traditional poker.

Why aren't you doing this then?

I do not have a casino, nor do I have an advanced understanding of database theory nor web development. I can only act as a player, and I have a great interest as one!

If you have any interest, please let us know if you are willing to implement this! Would like to see this up and running by May 1 if possible.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: HeyYouGuys - High Performance DiceBot Scripts with Charts LIVE BROADCASTING NOW on: April 20, 2017, 05:44:07 PM
Also, how do we know you are including losing sessions as well? For a we know, you are posting all your 'wins' while all the losses are tossed or not included in your posts.

You could be at a loss right now, but how would we know?

Try the script. The 2nd version (v1.32) is the lower risk version regardless of bank size.

Set your stop losses at the top of the script.

I've posted scripts to the DiceBot website which have been posted; and they have received great comments... This one has been submitted, just not indexed yet on the site.

It's a solid performer; of course there is always risk, it's gambling. But this script performs- exceptionally so on PrimeDice.

The script is provided free of charge, I only ask if you register new accounts; please use my referral links included in the script to do so.

Thanks and enjoy!
  Grin

Sorry, I am not going to waste my hard-earned money on your bot.

I specifically stated that YOU have not shown that the bot produces +EV in total. The burden of proof lies upon you. I want YOU to run your bot for 1,000,000 rounds in ONE RUN! Not over several runs. Oh, and this "I can't run it over XXXX rounds" is bullshit. If you can make a +EV bot, then you can make it run 1,000,000 rounds in one run.

One last thing: You ask that you become a referral when I sign up: BIG ASS RED FLAG! You are profiting of peoples ignorance that they will win, but the reality is that you are providing a faster way for them to lose and you are making bank off their losses.

No, I am not going to try your bot UNTIL YOU prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the bot is truly +EV!

I remain sceptical.

There is only around 10,000 rounds of dice thrown.

Things I would need to see would be:

EV
Number of rounds
Variance
Standard Deviation

From there, one can make a judgement on whether your script can in fact 'beat' dice sites.

From the looks of it, you use a martingale system? No?

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hearts: Does anyone offer any hearts games? on: April 11, 2017, 07:19:10 AM
If you are finding heart game like on computer windows, i think there is none of casino that want to build that kind of game. First thing because it really takes time and better if they opened some poker games and poker will be much attractive to Hearts. Second thing is Heart is PvP games and the only PvP games that really attract people to play is only poker, so there is no point of making this kind of site with Heart game

Once could make it 3 CPU's vs a person.

Like this:

https://cardgames.io/hearts/

The only thing they (the house) would need to do is be provably fair and have a database that can handle scores per player account and how many bitcoins they have won/lost.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hearts: Does anyone offer any hearts games? on: April 11, 2017, 07:16:43 AM
No there is no any casino that offers hearts games, they only offers poker and blackjack. Don't know why they don't have lot more card games than usual poker and BJ. May be some technical issues or may be because no any casino software providers have ever made heart games.
I get BJ and Poker. BJ being a game associated with a low HE and poker due to the MoneyMaker boom early 2000's.

Couldn't a site do something simple like this for their casino?

https://cardgames.io/hearts/

I would imagine if the casino is on good terms with the software development team that made their site software, they could incorporate something like this? They do custom programming for bonus games/promotions if I recall correctly?
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hearts: Does anyone offer any hearts games? on: April 11, 2017, 07:13:47 AM

Hearts?  That would be pretty cool but what would be even better would be able to play rubber bridge and play it for Bitcoins!

Did a quick Google search and did not find it.  That is a fantastic idea for all of us who love to play bridge for money.

You have to handle the collusion problem but that has already been solved by the other bridge for money sites on the Internet.  One site does this by randomizing partners on every hand.  Another site pits one human player with a bridge robot partner against a second human player with a bridge robot partner.

I was thinking someone would do a simple 3 CPU vs Person game where the player put in...say 50,000 satoshi. If they are the ones with the least amount of points after someone hits 100 points, they get a 4-1 or a 7-2 payout on their bet. (Since the player has a 1 in four chance of winning.)

Something like this:

https://cardgames.io/hearts/

A simple page. The player will have an account and then play according the Hearts strategy. Something like MoneyPot would be good for this!
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Hearts: Does anyone offer any hearts games? on: April 10, 2017, 07:56:58 AM
Anyone know where I can find some Hearts games?

Looking to play with some fellow bitcoiners.

Thanks.
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Leroy Fodor has gone Full-Delusional; StakeMiners is 100% confirmed insolvent! on: March 02, 2016, 12:26:16 PM
Fuck Leroy...this is NOT how you would run a business. Calling potential investors who question everything you do, (which is common daily on Walla Street BTW,) bitches, pussies, or whatever expletive you can think of will not result in the grand riches you envisioned.

O, and the math will not support you dreams either.

Again HuskyPower thank you so much for your investment with us, I am happy to have been able to get you a 12% profit on your investment in 3 months, I do not think anyone else should expect this out of StakeMiners, or take that as any kind of guarantee of ROI, its just seems to be how the situation worked out for this account. If we would be able to offer a 12% ROI in 3 months guaranteed, i would be very satisfied with the system we have Built at StakeMiners.

Again Husky You had the choice to avoid that big fee please read the email where it talks about how I was doing my best to avoid the 13.75% fee that was incurred on your account.

Those exiting StakeMiners Ponzi since have enjoyed ONLY a 2% withdraw fee. Perhaps, Leroy Fodor needed some extra funds at the time to pay his monthly lease payment for his office located in the tallest building in Davao, Philippines. HAHAHA
He charged me that after I outed him on all his shady activates. Funny he pulled this shit on a BOI...

Anything above 0 BTC is acceptable, but be reasonable here, please.
17  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS]Simple gambling website. on: January 30, 2016, 11:02:03 PM
i sent you PM.
why you sell this site? is everything okay with moneypot, now they have a new owners, and they are functioning without problems?
Everything is going good.

I have no time to develop the site further as I have no time on my hand. The site really needs someone to care for it and I cannot provide that.
18  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS]Simple gambling website. on: January 30, 2016, 10:56:46 PM
I can't edit my post because here is the auctions board.
Why don't set a starting bid / Buy it now price?
Thank you I am interested Wink

ps there are three owners?
There is one Owner, (Me,) and three two other admins. They have agreed to secede their powers after sale. So, when I transfer the web wallet to the buyer, they will be demoted, buyer will be promoted, and I will demote myself and leave.
19  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS]Simple gambling website. on: January 30, 2016, 10:52:21 PM
I have a gaming site that needs to be sold to someone who will give it some TLC. I have no time right now and the site needs to be run by a responsible party.

No need for a bankroll, (unless you have the cash for that,) as the Money Pot application takes care of all the risk. You get a commission per bet.

The site will be sold "as-is", including:

domain
web server and web service
program for game (including all available scripts on the web server)
faucet
reward system
money pot web wallet

This is a NYOP (name your own price) sale.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1308453.0

The site:

simplecryptogaming.com

PM huskypower2015 for details and you bid

Thanks for showing interest!

what is your request?
this script could be modified? (what language ?)
I am auctioning off / selling my site to the general public.

For anyone else interested in the finances:
