Yeah, uh,

Quote
entrapment - The act of government agents or officials that induces a person to commit a crime he or she is not previously disposed to commit.

I mentioned that.
262  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid weekly for your signature on: August 24, 2013, 10:33:46 PM
can i still join this one ?

No

*IMPORTANT* The paid signature scheme is now CLOSED to NEW participants (or at least until further notice). If you are already participating (or have posted somewhere in this thread) then you are lucky as you will remain eligible for future payouts.
263  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitmessage - P2P Messaging system based partially on Bitcoin on: August 24, 2013, 09:30:34 PM
What about this hattrick?
http://www.chronicles.no/2013/08/bitmessage-crackdown.html
Not that i endorse actions like that, but it shows how flawed the system is.

Uh.

Quote
Everyone on Bitmessage has received a message on the following format:
False. I did not receive this message even though (at least) one of my addresses is public.

Quote
To avoid traps like these it is a very good rule to never open links received from people you don't know
Which is why links aren't even clickable!

FUD. There is no "flaw." There was no "hattrick." Scaling is planned. Your pubkeys are not private, only divorced from your identity. "Passive mode" has been proposed as an alternative to this. Rob White should have taken his skills and been useful, rather than launch this worthless attack on an openly in-development software.
264  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.45 till Thursday next week , pay back 0.5 on: August 24, 2013, 01:19:19 AM
Maybe i'm a nice guy maybe not .... the idea is , if i can help , i'll help . I dont use BTC too much so cant do trades. If I can, I help other members on their problems . Well shipping is not $45 but is somewhere near .... I paid to send an envelope to US , $100 with dhl Smiley

Do you have a family, coworkers, friends, neighbors, bank or dog nearby who might be able to loan you, quote, the damn $45? Seems like it would be a helluva lot easier.
265  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.45 till Thursday next week , pay back 0.5 on: August 24, 2013, 01:04:05 AM
I have a question for all of you ... when you registered on forum , all of you were old members with good rep ? Y or N ? If yes please tell me how to open a new user with good reputation from minute 1.
N
Answering the second question anyway:
Know a trusted user in real life OR
Have reputation on another Bitcoin-related community like the OTC web of trust OR
Don't, because a magic method without either of the above two would be ridiculous, all scammers would use it, and it would cease to work. If it existed before, it has stopped by now.

How the hell a person can make good rep if most of forum users start saying : this guy want to scam because he dont have a collateral
Take the risk in trades / provide value to the community

To send something as a collateral for $45 i need to pay another $45 for shipping.
That's nice. Too bad there's nobody in your entire country who can loan money to you.

nimda:

I sent to that guy 0.16 because i didnt had more. He requested 0.2 or something like that. Like I sent all BTC i had to help someone to put a bet on sports.
You must be a nice guy.
266  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.45 till Thursday next week , pay back 0.5 on: August 24, 2013, 12:39:22 AM
If people scam for 0.01 - $1 .... then is better to close the lending section of the forum.
Perhaps you're right :/

Seems in this section most of people post on threads only to increase the activity number.
FYI, that's a common statement made by scammers, and a rather passive aggressive way of insulting me. I'm just trying to help you understand why you won't be getting a loan from anyone other than a sucker (and the suckers are mostly drained dry).

The problem is that ppl are paranoid because of scams ....
It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you [1]

not all the guys who request a loan here are like Joey or whatever.
True, but most are. [2]

I gave to a guy 0.16 without asking him for what he need or what he do with the money. He just posted in a thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276416.60.
That's about 1/3 of what you're asking.

And who the hell loose his time to scam for few bucks.
Teenagers without a job, I assume. [3]

I dont earn my money by scamming people.
That's great. Thank you for living a moral life.

267  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk++ script - Thoughts about votes on: August 24, 2013, 12:30:55 AM
Some users can't be resolved and are displayed as '??'
Not sure why this happen but it's not critical as their link is correct

To everybody:
Please confirm you found your list
I do!

I'm not finding my list. I voted +1 for gollum (he was 0/0), reloaded the list, and ctrl+f'd for him. Nothing.

Please tell me when this is resolved so I can remove that vote, because I've never encountered him. Thanks.

Edit: nevermind, gollum was showing up as ??
268  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.45 till Thursday next week , pay back 0.5 on: August 24, 2013, 12:14:48 AM
What do you need the loan for?  - To pay 2 monthly services
How long do you need the loan for? - 5 to 6 days maximum. Can pay earlier as well. But i'm saying 5-6 days to be sure , not to say tomorrow and when tomorrow come to dont have the money to pay back.
If the loan is for an investment, what will you do if the investment fails?  - Is not for investment
Can you provide ID, such as SSN, shoe-on-head photo, etc?   - yes i can provide a copy of my id + proof of income , no ssn because i am not from US
How will you pay back the loan? - BTC , WMZ or PM
Can you provide collateral - Shipping will cost more than the loan itself
Do you have any prior reputation? - No because i never loaned before ... i just sent 0.16 to a forum member when he requested a loan.

Joey ? Whos Joey ? .... found him now on forum Smiley

Close.

"How will you pay back the loan" does not refer to the payment method, but to your method of obtaining the payback funds in the first place.

Unfortunately, "expect a rejection if... you have no reputation or collateral". Sorry, but people are actually willing to scam for 0.01 BTC even after giving out their ID:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=271673.0
269  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 20-50BTC to start grow-op, Sweden/Nordic lender preferred. on: August 23, 2013, 11:45:41 PM
Prefer lender in Sweden or other Nordic country so we can maybe meet up and discuss things in person.
Then get nicked by the Police for promoting drug growing operations.

It would be funnier if two policemen ran into each other like this.

"So, are you interested?"
"I was wearing a wire. You're under arrest."
"I was wearing a wire and about to arrest you!"
"I'm still wearing a wire. You're under arrest for entrapment."

 Grin

Answer all of these questions:
What do you need the loan for?
How long do you need the loan for?
How will you pay back the loan?
If the loan is for an investment, what will you do if the investment fails?
Can you provide ID, such as SSN, shoe-on-head photo, etc?
Can you provide collateral—something easily sent (internet / snail mail) and easily sold for more than the cost of the loan? (Steam accounts are not collateral) (No seriously they aren't)
Do you have any prior reputation?

Expect a rejection if:
The loan is for reputation (See On the "Confidence Loan" Trend)
You have no reputation or collateral
You plan to gamble or invest the money, but have no answer to #4. The lender would be better off making the same gamble or investment himself.
You are Joey
You fail to answer all 7 questions
Your grammar is horrid

Maybe if we give one of each that will in the end give the guys the same score and thus work out?
Negative ratings are weighted heavier than positive ratings.

This building rep loans are the stupidiest thing in the world. The only person stupider then the person asking for the loans are the people who actually are providing them.

I keep asking this (ok indirectly but still) but nobody is giving me a response...what should I have done differently. I actually need 6 btc to purchase Karaoke equipment for my new business. Why is everybody missing the first sentence of my OP that states I am a noob? hrmmm...I dunno Sad
You should have requested 6 BTC for Karaoke equipment.

Doing it WRONG. Read the goddamn sticky!

The code I use is here: https://just-dice.com/lucky.txt

looks pretty serious when you run out of hash.

Will
You'll never run out of hash in this universe.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: August 20, 2013, 05:59:56 PM
Edit: By the way, dooglus, in your algorithm, you take 5 hex digits of the hash, which represents a number from 0 to 1048576 right? Then to remove bias, any 5 hex digit sequence that is more than 1000000 is discarded? not 999999 and not 1000001? Exactly 1000000? The reason I ask is for an unbiased shuffling method I'm trying to do (for cards)
Acceptable values are 0 to 999999. This makes 1000000 total values, just like 0-3, (or 0, 1, 2, 3) is 4 values. If the value is unacceptable, a new one is taken from the next 5 hex digits.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wifi Hotspot running on Raspberry Pi. on: August 19, 2013, 10:28:15 PM
Maybe enable access to blockchain.info, mtgox, coinbase, Inputs, et al for those users who don't run full Bitcoin nodes.

Yes, this is part of what I forwarded to OP, the possibility of accessing your "hosted wallet". However there is also the security element to this, since the operator of a "BitcoinWifi" access point could be shady. So there might need to be some way of knowing you connected to a authentic non modified "BitcoinWifi" spot.

I am thinking checksum md5 on a locked firmware, or something. Very exciting project though.

In the case of blockchain.info, even the hotspot operator can't steal your coins. Also, I think https (hardened against BREACH) should be sufficient, yes?

However, you only have one transaction on your trust list.
More transactions are required to increase the trust.

Not always. I have never seen a loan request by a hero or sr member that got rejected because of lack of transaction history. For some reason, people think that no one would want to "lose" a high level account, despite the fact that these accounts have no inherent value.
They may have no "inherent" value, but they have:

- High cost to create: hundreds of non-spam posts spread fairly evenly over a long period of time
- Non-zero resell value

However, can you point to an accepted loan request by a hero member who had no transaction history?

I can't even find a hero member asking for a loan request. However, my statement was that I've never seen a hero get rejected. I think that the burden of proof is on you.
Sure, at face value. But your statement has no meaning if there aren't any hero member loan requests. You took your statement and derived from it another one: 'people think that no one would want to "lose" a high level account, despite the fact that these accounts have no inherent value.' For that one, you have the burden of proof.

Here, I'll help you:
OgNasty loan request (Transaction history: NASTYMINING security)
Scott J loan request (Transaction history: in thread)
Tittiez loan request (Transaction history: lots - loans, moneypaks, etc
RandomQ loan request (Transaction history: lots - stocks, etc)
Usagi loan request - NOT FILLED (Transaction history: lots, but sometimes dubious)

So, here are some better statements to make:
"I have never seen a Hero Member without transaction history request a loan"
"I have seen a Hero Member get a loan request rejected"
"I have seen a Hero Member get a loan request rejected because it made no sense"
