401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: SEC Charges pirateat40 With Running Bitcoin-Denominated Ponzi Scheme on: July 24, 2013, 01:38:48 AM
I'm trying to dig up that email that I got from the SEC...

Ah yes. 2012-09-24
402  Economy / Lending / Re: Who is Joey and Anita? Heres their "loan" story. on: July 24, 2013, 01:31:04 AM
Their scamming patterns are very easy to spot. I won't enumerate them, but look at their former posts and you'll find it easy to stay away from their new alts.
403  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: July 24, 2013, 01:26:34 AM
Some good news, this  guy will get charged soon just like pirate did
We'll see... the SEC took their sweet time between the default, the emails they sent out, and the press release.

Don't underestimate their reach though: the SEC will go wherever it damn well pleases, regardless of national borders.
404  Other / Off-topic / Re: Perpetual motion device - Free Energy - Do you believe in it? on: July 18, 2013, 11:06:22 PM
lol... show of hands, how many people actually thought I was a free energy nut?

I guess I need to take my "!!!!!11" and make it "!!!!!11one" Wink

This tread is about joke technology. There is no such thing as a perpetual motion device! There are machines of extreme efficiency but no manfacured device can operate perpetually without interference. Even a waterfall will eventually run dry or be naturally diverted to a different to a new location.
Wow, look at how indoctrinated this guy is! "No such thing" that's what they said about atoms!

Trust me, I have unverifiable testimonials from millions if not hundreds of satisfied customers!

Everything has a usable life. Nothing (even the sun) can operate forever.
My machine will outlast the sun by a factor of 10. Or it would, if it wasn't near the sun.

Just wondering how long you think you'll be able to keep this up? At least you don't have to worry about keeping a straight face Smiley
I don't know. I started to fear that people were taking me seriously (?!), so I was planning on making it more and more ridiculous before shunning the nonbelievers and making a grand exit.

Now, though, I guess my work here is done.

It's scientific, but it's a method of using magnets that the energy lobby doesn't want you to hear!

 Roll Eyes
Right, roll your eyes at me. You've been indoctrinated! Or, you are afraid of the truth. I've been living off of my magnetic engine for years.

I imagine I know way more about magnets and electricity than you do, since it's my job to.
They're just feeding you government crap!!!!!!11

I also know quite a bit about things people think were impossible, which turn out to be true thanks to some new ways of mechanical interactions. But energy is energy. It doesn't really matter where it comes from or what it's generated by. The rules governing it never change.
Your personal belief conflicts with the evidence provided by my machine.

So, what powers your magnetic engine?
You can find that out for 0.25 BTC.

Ok.

Ok then.

Sooooo ... anyone have any magic energy for me?
You can learn my secret for only 0.25 BTC.

Hmmm. Is it a magic secret or a mundane secret?

Yeah, it a big difference between 1% and 1.9% edge

Yeah, its like 0.9% different!
Don't confuse percentage points with actual percentage. 1.9% is nearly twice 1%.

Withdrawal requests should be final, even if they go to pending. If you allow them to cancel the requests then you still have the same problem.

The solution is to warn the user before they finalize their withdrawal that they will not be paid by the hotwallet.

My 10 BTC is expired, it's already spent Tongue
But you can probably get a lot more than the few thousand bitcoins you get here.
Also, a normal SHA-256 isn't that interesting for bitcoin. For bitcoin you need SHA-256d which is SHA-256(SHA-256())
An arbitrary collision on SHA-256 gives a collision on SHA-256d.

also, once JD gets back even, whats the estimation on how long until dooglas is back in the black?
At average velocity over the site's lifetime: 135 BTC / day is the expected site profit. (I took this thread's creation date as the start of the site.)
Doog makes up 10% of the site: 13.5 BTC / day
+ 5% of the other 90%: 6 BTC / day

Assume some growth for ease of numbers: he'll make 20 BTC / day and be in the black in 50 days.
Except, commission won't be paid on most investments until we get back over the previous high, so it's more like 2 months.

(I feel like I made some embarrassing error there...)

418  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid weekly for your signature on: July 15, 2013, 03:21:26 AM
This weeks payments are coming Smiley Thanks for your patience.

On a side note, if someone can come up with a way track user post numbers easily and automatically I'd be happy to pay out a 0.15 BTC bounty.

Can this be done in excel or a Google Docs worksheet with some sort of html / xml parsing?
Can you elaborate a little? Do you just want a list of users and their posts for the most recent full week?

I... didn't opt for the default GNOME 3 desktop.
Good man.

Next question:

When the socket returns a "result," what is the value of stats.luck supposed to represent?
