5141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [solved]Possible to "trade" blocks? on: March 09, 2011, 01:43:36 AM
After someone "mines" a block, any transactions with fees going through the block will earn the block owner some money. But is there a way to trade blocks? for example, i give someone 60 BT, in exchange for a block that he owns. the owner then relinquishes control of that block, and sends it to me, and he pockets 10 BT.

Have you tried ufasoft? It could be that it doesn't work, but if a CPU miner works with this pool, most likely ufasoft's will work
that is the one im currently using. i'm not sure what version it is, but the properties window is showing a version number of 5.0.1822.0, and the CRC32 of the .exe is 83CFD1E0.

also, im using this:
bitcoin-miner.exe -t 4 -u grue -p █████████ -o http://bitcoinpool.com:8334
as the command line parameter

how much improvement (in %) does this software have? by the replys im seeing, it seems to be very minor, and i think the buyer should lower the price significantly. maybe 20 BTC?

is it possible for you to implement a SSE2 based miner? the current miner you have does not use SSE2, and its running at half the speed, compared to SSE2 miner.

perhaps current SSE2 miners are compatible with his pool?
can you show me one that works? the one im using that gets "the connection with the server was reset"

5146  Bitcoin / Mining / How do i make my own pool? on: March 07, 2011, 11:27:56 PM
Im wondering if there's any software that allows me to set up a pool server. i've seen this thread: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4224.0 , but im not sure if that method is effective as a real pool (where clients get smaller work sizes).
