I read 29 on the list about 13000 plus  posts are bounty twitter and facebook
100 are content
and maybe a dozen to 20 have some value.

I gave merits 2 two guys and may give 1 more .

Have to rest my eyes for now.

That is an awful lot of work trying hard to give away merit to have found so few meritable posts..

Theymos wants you to go through this list?

Miners would probably move on from such low grade ore..

You think being wealthy is luck, lmfao..

I'm not even that wealthy and it's just luck that I have made all of my income from, it's just luck that I choose to spend my money on things that hold value, it's just luck that I haven't pissed my money away paying interest on loans and buying things to throw away..

I believe in equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome..

I totally agree with that. People like OP think that wealth is like a cake, so if someone is wealthy, i.e. has a bigger piece of the cake, the rest are poorer. But wealth is like a fruit tree, that can grow and give more fruit, so if someone is richer, i.e. has more fruit, the rest can have more fruit as well. And when someone eats a fruit and throws the seed, a new fruit tree can grow, and so on.

Right, these ideals are why England dominated early in the industrial revolution, around the time of the first steam engines..

Until then wealth was land, and land IS like a cake..
England was intelligent to recognize that other people getting rich through industry and manufacturing was not taking wealth away from them but rather creating more wealth for everyone..

You can thank coal for all of it Smiley

Veterans usually vote Republican so obviously illegal aliens are more important than veterans, to those who love them some welfare..

Veterans also are often mentally wounded by what they have had to do and see, so many are mentally ill..
Those who hand out welfare may not see their healthcare as important as say, a good left voting illegal alien..

The military often does not leave you with the most useful skills for civilian life..
What they have been learning in their prime years is no economical match against a civilian who has been studying for a STEM degree, while the veteran ran 10 miles a day in his prime..
One of the many sacrifices they make..

It is Politically Correct to hate on veterans but adore some illegal aliens..

Veterans have it rough..
1584  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: September 19, 2018, 10:24:55 PM
If you are ultra-conservative sure their are some things you can nitpick him for but he is still a strong constitutionalist ultimately..

If we were discussing a hillary pick right now I would probably be terrified of the loss of my 1A and 2A rights..

I don't much care about abortion but because of the way leftists seem to be so flippant and degenerate about abortion and their pro-abortion propaganda, it pushes me anti-abortion just to spite them..

The right to free speech and the right to defend our country against tyranny VS abortion...
Hmmm...

I hope trump stacks that court DEEP!!

It is afterall, about the most important part of our government, the scotus..

[..]
It does look manipulative..

Manipulative or not, we are staying above $6,0xx for now, which is good. But organic buying pressure to lift us above $6,500 for a genuine rally still seems lacking. Perhaps this second bottom will help people cross that line from bear to bull.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=274613.msg45913544#msg45913544

Developing....

It looks good to me, Double bottoms are great, and overall it looks like the bottoms are on a slight uptrend..
If you don't count the wick of this spinning top candle, and throw it out of your TA as manipulation, my rising support line still stands..

In the long term chart this recent action is just a spinning top..

Quote
The Spinning Top candlestick pattern has a single candle. It forms at the peak of an uptrend, the bottom of a downtrend

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/understanding-spinning-top-marubozu-candlestick-130009548.html

Quote
it can be an indication of a pending reversal
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinning_top_(candlestick_pattern)

So it ALSO may be an indicator of the end of the downtrend.. I'll not get too bullish on it just yet, but their is hope..

Jesus! I love bitcoin!

Jesus thats... Jesus. What is your leverage? Thats noooooice!

Watching the volume on that new toy! Rekt all over the place on bitmex.

What is this new toy? sauce me baby. I only know of the twitter rekt page.

Does anyone know of a good strategy to spot shorts and longs? What kind of tools do you guys use for bitmex?

Posted a couple days ago in here by someone else, sorry, can't remember who.

Me

You're welcome Smiley

This strange spike on the chart remind me of a spike just like it on that ETF decision.. iirc it was when BTC was around $1k ish?
Around the time segwit failed maybe..

I think it was about the same chart pattern when that ETF got denied, and the market quickly decided that it didn't care or something like that..

My line from the same post as the new toy actually..

It looks like this dump broke my line and then the spike saved it..
Maybe they don't want the line broken yet?
OR, they broke the line on purpose for that technical pattern as a bear trap to make people dump as a couple people are saying..
It does look manipulative..

NY OAG 'Virtual Markets'* investigation :: Key Finding #2:

Quote
Trading Platforms Have Yet to Implement Serious Efforts to Impede Abusive Trading Activity. Though some virtual currency platforms have taken steps to police the fairness of their platforms and safeguard the integrity of their exchange, others have not. Platforms lack robust real-time and historical market surveillance capabilities, like those found in traditional trading venues, to identify and stop suspicious trading patterns. There is no mechanism for analyzing suspicious trading strategies across multiple platforms. Few platforms seriously restrict or even monitor the operation of "bots" or automated algorithmic trading on their venue. Indeed, certain trading platforms deny any responsibility for stopping traders from artificially affecting prices. Those factors, coupled with the concentration of virtual currency in the hands of a relatively small number of major traders, leave the platforms highly susceptible to abuse. Only a small number of platforms have taken meaningful steps to lessen those risks.

Under what pretense are any of these aspects 'abusive'? Seems like they wish to be gratuitously prohibitive of legitimate trading patterns.

What am I missing here?

* What a stupid characterization. There is nothing virtual about these markets. Although they trade in virtual assets, the markets themselves are very much real.

They want to be the only ones that can manipulate the market..

It's almost a trust thing for me, or they need to have something to lose..

If a sane person has no reason to trust them at all, and/or they have nothing to lose, and they are so new they don't know shit anyway, they shouldn't be endorsing anything..

All they care about is how much they get paid to endorse things and they don't care or have any repercussions for promoting scams, and haven't the experience to know if what they are endorsing is a scam anyway if they cared..
1589  Other / Meta / Re: A Copper membership needs signature reductions on: September 19, 2018, 06:19:46 PM
Don't let newbies hustle in our clubhouse.

jokes

But seriously they don't need to be paid for posting with such fresh accounts.. It's not like they have the right to earn while posting until they get some time under their belt and can possibly have decent things to say..

All the fuss about copper members.. Theymos can just stop selling them at any time and leave the coppers grandfathered if it doesn't work good..
We might start seeing more and more coppers get banned..

Buying copper means they have a little skin in the game, similar to skin in the game having been here a longer period of time like a couple months, so I don't think the concept is all bad..

If they keep up the same shit they will be going through copper accounts just as fast as they go through newb accounts by getting banned and tagged anyway.. Maybe it should cost more or have less benefits, idk..

Another thing that annoys me is fresh accounts posting ANNs, fresh accounts managing bounties and campaigns..
How do you trust that? I don't like seeing newb accounts holding great responsibilities..
Like all these guys running ICOs have never had a btct account before, like they don't have old accounts..

they have old accounts alright but they are probably tagged as scammers or want to protect their good accounts from the scam ICO they are pushing.. Untrustworthy imo..
1590  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can't make posts? on: September 19, 2018, 05:17:07 PM
As if newbies aren't frusterated enough with the recent forum changes, now they are in a nice timeout, lol..
How many do you think will just ragequit?

Nice little support line in the right direction.. I would be bullish, expecting a small uptrend there, until it breaks down through that line..

The books look to be pretty even on both sides, neutral..

BTW have you guys ever seen this?
https://tucsky.github.io/SignificantTrades/#

It shows large buys and sells live from many exchanges..
It might give you an edge to see a dump coming before it reaches the exchange you are on, or a pump..
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 18, 2018, 09:12:42 PM
As for volatility, I am pretty much waiting for the next bear trap to buy in again. Now is the most uncertain time for a new wave of newbie buyers and people are going to exploit that.

How the psychology of fear keeps people from buying the bottom..

I think this is a very certain time in the market. I think the price was more likely to go down at any time during the pump than now, after it is already down..
New ATHs are what scare me.. all time highs

But when people see ATHs they feel brave and greed?

Is this why the whales get so rich off of dumb money?

Hello I tried to open this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=3.0 but it says I don't have the permission to. What can I do about it?
Hopefully you can access that board so you can post in all those threads where the merit pours.

The things they make you do to get in though.. Not worth it..

1596  Economy / Reputation / Re: This account is not compromised and is not 'abusing the merit system' on: September 18, 2018, 05:29:37 PM
There is only one @veloxcoin and always will be. I still have no need and never will have a need to stake an address. I don't do business here, I own one project and one project only and have for one year. This is the first time I've ventured out of the altcoin section for a long time.

You don't consider running an ICO to be "doing business"?
You don't think you need to be able to prove your identity behind your ICO?
So someone can just hack you account and take over your ICO on this forum and you are fine with that?
Whatever..

Very sophisticated bots...don't you think?

No..
It's not a rare thing, it's well documented.. Happens all the time..
1597  Economy / Reputation / Re: This account is not compromised and is not 'abusing the merit system' on: September 18, 2018, 05:21:06 PM

My project has been standing since 2017, and recently I had changed the email from my gmail account over to the official project email for enhanced security, lin0sspice@veloxproject.io.
Here you confirm that your Gmail is not secure enough but this is not a solid reason to change an email you used since 2013 even the account is related to your project.

You don't have to have a "solid reason" to change your email address..
An email address change is just a clue that an account may have changed hands but itself in not proof of anything..

You didn't find any staked address because I never had the need to publicly do business nor enough to show everyone how many bitcoins I have or tie an address to my account. If you can see, my project is about anonymity and decentralization, doing exactly what you just said would almost be a complete contradiction to my beliefs.

You have never posted a single address that you control the keys too? Even an altcoin address? If you could find one and prove you still control it it could go a long way to help you out..

Posting a staked address is not anti-anonymity.. The address can be completely empty and unused, linked to no identity other than your online identity that you would like to secure..

Even a shitcoin address you posted long ago that you can sign? Anything? A PGP public key?

If you would like me to, I'll post a staked message of an empty address to 'tickle your fancy' when someone throws a compromised account accusation at me in the future.

Hell yes, everyone should post a staked address. The earlier the better.. Newbies should post staked addresses..
Don't you see how many accusations of account hacks and actual account hacks happen around here?
You need a staked address to protect yourself from scammers, and to protect the forum from scammers..

You can also use it to prove your identity between different platforms... So if you are on telegram or some other forum you can PROVE that you are THE REAL lin0sspice and not an impostor.. Impostors happen ALL THE TIME..

Edit
See...

Yes , i did not here to fud but lin0sspice was my account and got hack since 2015
Everything should be for this scam ico.
Ao watch out.
My reputation is legendary status that is why .

If this is true then this could have been stopped a long time ago, if the guy had a staked address to PROVE it..
But he didn't I guess?
The post is not very convincing to be honest, but it would be 100% PROOF if he would just have had a staked address..

Shame..
Have a staked address people!!
1598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 18, 2018, 03:09:39 AM
I doubt many of expected it to break 10k, then quickly pump up to 20k. I thought it would briefly touch 10k then crash back down again. At least you didn't buy back at a higher price than you sold at. Sell high, buy back low.

Yeah, $10k looked like that wall that wouldn't fall, so I sold some infront of it, and did something nice with the money, the value is still there.. I guess $20k was the wall that really wouldn't fall but I couldn't bear to look, lol. I just knew I wasn't going to sell any more of it..

I need to make it back to get over it but it's been hard for me to get started trading again..

I don't like the term "reverse bart" because it looks more like an "upside down bart" to me.

Inverted bart..
In this case a particularly rare Reverted bart..
1599  Other / Meta / Re: How to recover my hacked bitcointalk account on: September 17, 2018, 11:16:37 PM
Other than recovering the account STOPPING it is also important..

Please sign an old staked address and post it here proving that you owned the account, and the big dogs will come along and tag it red so it can't scam in your name..

She's really gonna be pissed when she sees that you ranked up melvingay34 instead of her..
Unless your "wife" is MelvinGay then problem solved no?
