I see the spam as a moderation issue and think more (active) moderators and admins handing out well deserved bans are a solution.

Or..

Influential members such as yourself and others that feel the same way can easily speak up against them and force their hand to rectify the situation..

Take your greivences directly to the campaign managers and above their head if necessary in whatever company they are working for..

If you feel so strongly about it you could start tagging managers and company accounts that refuse to cooperate in reducing the spam they are employing..

I bet they'd shape up real quick if they started getting tagged themselves..
"allows spam in the sig campaign he manages"
"this company won't stop spamming our board"

Trusted/influential member: "Hey guy..If you don't stop the spam emanating from the campaign you manage I'm going to leave you red trust and go tell your boss to fire you.."

Trusted/influential member: "Hey guy.. If you don't fire and replace that lazy campaign manager of yours that is allowing spam to emanate from the campaign he is running, which is a responsibility of your company, then I distrust you and your entire company for allowing and promoting this trash"

(Trusted/influential member:) or even group of average members..
Email/pm/post bomb em like congressmen when you want your voice to be heard about what you think should or should not be done..

There you go, problem solved with no government, either they fix the problem or you rightly so wreck the reputation of their company..

I bet all it would take is 1..
2282  Other / Meta / Re: What is the purpose of signatures? on: January 12, 2017, 09:31:33 PM
Because capitalism..

It's a big chunk of the communities economy, it has BTC flowing as an actual currency (imagine that), it's a great way for people to get their first little bits of BTC and start learning if they are otherwise incapable of purchasing..

If you don't like signature spammers I'd suggest you take it out on the company employing them, rather than wanting the government to solve all your problems for you with always more and more laws, do something about it yourself..

Go post in the companies threads about how you are sick of their spam with concrete references, get others to join you, blast their flagship threads with your disgust for their employees actions, call for a boycott against them by you and your likeminded, start a thread about it..

That's called the free market sorting it out..
If your ideals are shared by a strong segment of the people, and you are willing to speak up against the offenders of your ideals, then you will win..
If they are more powerful than you, more share their ideals, they will win..
In all actuality, it will eventually reach a balanced harmony between the varying degrees of ideals..

If you start pointing out their follies they will be forced to do something about it or accept that they look bad and are resented by all those who share your opinion, and lose your business..

Call em out on it..
2283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to set everything up for trading on: January 12, 2017, 03:25:15 PM
If you are just starting and want to specifically get into trading, I see no harm in just using an exchange like poloniex as your web wallet..

Just make yourself a polo account and send your coins there, you can hold all your altcoins there too.. No big deal..

Once you get a bit experienced in crypto and decide that you want to hold this or that coin long term, then you can look into software wallets and security, and/or cold wallets, hardware wallets etc..

Yes holding coins on an exchange presents a level of risk, but so do web wallets.. Google cooperates with blockchain.info spoofers and people loos their web wallet coins all the time for noob mistakes..

Just use whatever exchange you pick as your web wallet, they are going to be better at securing your coins than you are until you really put in the effort to learn what it takes to secure your own coins..

well. i wonder how long his tenure's gonna be.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/10/fbi-chief-given-dossier-by-john-mccain-alleging-secret-trump-russia-contacts

there's gonna be even more juice pouring out soon no doubt.

then again he could probably fuck crippled orphans on the white house lawn and attract enough apologists.

I think your point is that if this fake news keeps up, he'll be immune to any and all criticism?

4chan made that up and the cia and msm took the bait hook line and sinker..

"chinese" exchanges have been in constant communication with PBOC for years.

this topic is exaggerating a 'routine' inspection by regulators* into something sounding more like a raid.
it is not a raid. its just a routine inspection

seems like the OP wants to cause drama to cause some speculation and another discount day to buy in cheap.
and when people wise up to the truth and price then recovers, the OP can sell for profit.

*(yep many finance firms in fiat, asset and commodities get these as something treated as normal processes)

The operation is focused on checking whether the company is operating beyond its scope
BTCC for example has a regulatory agreement of what its business will do (scope of business).
the regulators are just doing a routine inspection to check

drama over

tip: this is temporary speculation drama. do not consider it a panic moment to cry about losses, consider it a discount day to increase holdings cheaply

Just what you would expect the chinese to say to the west while they dump on your heads..

im a brit. i just hate the FUD that turns into sheeple scripts everyone repeats and circle jerks to

I meant to reply to what the info out of china is supposedly rather than your take on it..

I meant, ofcourse they would downplay the situation so they can keep us buying while they GTFO (dump on our heads)

You ever hear of any other troubled exchange in crypto history NOT tow the line "it is fine it is fin, nothing to see here" so they can keep their gig going as long as possible in order screw everyone that believes it and make out the best themselves?

BTCC "We are in huge trouble guys, the commies are coming to crush our business and this liberty.."
Not likely..
BTCC "It's not as bad as it looks, no reason to be afraid, trust us"
More likely..

For all we know they are doing the oppressive commie's bidding else have their organs harvested..

2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Site investigation conducted to the top 3 Chinese Bitcoin exchange on: January 11, 2017, 08:31:11 PM
Governments hate bitcoin because bitcoin is the currency of freedom and liberty, China is more stupid than US. But they are all bad treating bitcoins.

they dont.

remember this one simple truth..
for every bitcoin buyer there is a bitcoin seller.
meaning the chinese FIAT does not disappear, all that ultimately happens in a bitcoin trade is the name of the bank account holders of X fiat change hands.

what governments hate is people putting paper money into an envelope and sending the money out of the control of chinese banks. where it sits in some western union/bureau de change office vault in some unknown town. doing nothing and not circulating in the country of origin.

what governments hate is people not paying their taxes.. this is not a bitcoin direct issue, but an international currency issue of claiming non residence or having tax havens to avoid paying local taxes.

what governments hate is people making a financial loss, to claim it as a tax writeoff and hand less tax to the government

China hates personal liberty..

Bitcoin is for not giving a shit what governments think..
Look here, currently what governments think is influencing/destroying bitcoin..

gov wants this, banks want that...

I don't think market behaviour like this will look too impressive to the SEC pondering ETFs right now. Bitcoin has lifted her skirt to reveal a sloppy pussy, or double dick arrangement, or even BOTH.

I put a hope on the "auto-approval".

Could very well be a chinese tactic to try to stop it from happening..

WAR ON CHINA NOW!!

No we should thank them. They are cleaning up their exchanges and at the same time the risk of China baning bitcoin is highly reduced. If you wanted bitcoin to ever succeed this was the best that could happen imo

Care to elaborate please ?

Sure..

Nothing that comes out of china can be believed.. Not their news, not their fiat exchange rates, not their crypto exchange rates or the action of their exchanges in the market.. Maybe not even their miners?

What does china do?
They do everything they can to make people THINK that they have this great massive influence, make people believe that china is in control with their grandiose claims..

And then what? Use their exaggerated influence to MANIPULATE..
Their actual pull is much less than they make it out to be..
I wouldn't even put it past the chinese gov or the pboc to be IN ON IT because everything about the entire chinese economy is FAKE..
Propaganda..

This manipulation is bad for bitcoin.. No matter the end result, price this extreme volitility scares everyone away... This extreme volitility is also terrible for use as a currency..

The other day I said "when does BTC ever loose half it's value overnight?"
Now, it does..

Another thing..
I'm not sure of taking a side of segwit or whatever but, if segwit is what we need look who's stopping it.. China, that's who..
The greedy miners that just want ROI..

You know their mining advantage comes entirely from the fact that they don't mind dumping into and polluting their country by way of ground and the entire world by way of air..

They don't give a fuck how bad they fuck shit up to make the cheapest electricity possible..
They don't give a fuck how bad they fuck shit up to make the cheapest planned obsolescence electronics such as miners not to mention everything else they sell/export that is nothing but garbage in 1 year or so if that..

It is too bad that bitcoin has managed to get itself caught up in this terrible china game..

Not just bitcoin, the whole world..

Trump's trade war NOW!!
Maybe they will even give us the chance to embarrass their chincy china military..

They are sitting too many notches too high on the global pegboard and need to be taken down a few rungs including their current manipulated false influence and set them back a ways to learn their lesson..

We need to kick this toxic china influence OUT of our grand experiment of the people's financial liberty..

I hope china bans bitcoin once and for all..

China GTFO..

You think china wants anything to do with personal liberty? Think again..
This could even be a chinese special ops tactic to destroy bitcoin..

Wayyy too much perceived and otherwise justifiable influence by dirty actors..

WAR ON CHINA NOW!!

2293  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 11, 2017, 06:21:24 PM
Well it does make you think that if the majority of trading is happening in China then being held to ransom by the PBOC is to be expected.

if someone opened a zero fee exchange in lapland then that would become the world centre of bitcoin trading. tons of traders on the chinese exchanges will be from the west.

it's time china was dealt with once and for all. the current setup does not do bitcoin's future any good.

Good plan..

lol nice memes..

I was "trading" yesterday like ptsd fomo thinking it was going to go up, then thinking it was going to go down..
In the end I lost like 1% changing my mind too much and said screw it..
2298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does anyone "Day Trade" Bitcoin on: January 11, 2017, 05:00:47 AM
That's pretty much what I do but not every day..
Trade for a few hours and back all in BTC when I'm done..
A lot of the time I never even sell the BTC and just use my available margin..

Trading on huobi, no fees is great for high frequency trades but sometimes I think it screws me giving the worst possible price on market orders, and if you were margin long before that dump you were liquidated toast because I couldn't get a trade in edgewise it was freezing all up crazy..

Reliable?  Crypto exchange? Eh..
Even kraken was freezing the other day and was it stamp or finex that was just down for a while today?

It didn't steal my coins.. Yet..

2299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] <redacted> (seeking opinions) on: January 11, 2017, 04:48:57 AM
China..
So china listen up.. The ICO is for these $1 coins that will be pegged to the USD BUT the ICO price is $1.10 in CNY..
If you think about it it's a great deal because if you buy it right now in $1.10 CNY value by time the thing gets around to the initial release your CNY will only be worth $0.10 so you will make 10X YOUR MONEY!!
