Other / Off-topic / What to do with the Pirate charity donation

Assuming BTCST settles out successfully, which I believe to be quite likely, I'd like to nominate the following group for the charity to win the bet. CHAOS HOMEBREW CLUB http://test.chaosbrewclub.netThey share some of our values. Homebrew is about community, thumbing your nose at alcohol taxes, art, and self-reliance. We're trying to move into a bigger brew house because our space is too small! We teach people in our community how to brew from scratch, give them a place to brew, and have social and educational events. A bigger space will touch thousands of lives a year between members, those that come to our events and classes, and those that get to have our members' beer. If we get the donation, we are fully committed to writing an article about it, and sharing all aspects of the donation with the local press, emphasizing bitcoin. We've had some great press before, and we will likely have more.

I think this is a great start. I think over time several of these will merge into a bitcoin Transunion type rating. This will become much more important as we see more BTC revolving accounts.

Please note, I turn down 10 loans to people in newbie jail for every one I make. This is not some rampant journey for me to keep as many loans out as possible.
I too have my proprietary scammer detection system. While I'm not going to disclose exactly what I look for, I haven't made a bad loan yet.

I believe people will want to pay me money when I'm a musician.
Not much money in being a musician any more. Even for the big names. You're better off selling drugs. His forum name is dank - what is it you think he does? j/k

There is no market regulated by strictly market consumers (i.e. a free market) in traditional banking. Were there one, depositors would shop around and pay attention to the credibility of each bank which in turn would force them to compete with one another and not collude. And it's that simple to solve this problem: remove FDIC, remove all guarantees, remove lenders of last resort, remove regulations and BOOM all the crooks will go up in smoke and what will remain are the honest players.
Yep, but it might take a while. Might look like the current bitcoin economy for some time first. Sure would be fun to watch.

If the money isn't that important to you and it's just a logistical problem you could try myriadcoins.com. If the 1.19 is a small fraction of the total you'll likely win. If you lose you have to wait till you can get more, but you already have to wait.
He asks for a loan, you suggest gambling? sc00bysnax, I'd be glad to loan if you're willing to provide additional information, e.g. what you intend to buy and some proof of identity. I found the most concerning part the lack of a plan to pay it back.....
