It will work. How do you think it will benefit the users in your country though?

Some nodes I('ve) run are more like 500 GB/mo. YMMV.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Download a blockchain year on: December 10, 2015, 05:27:30 PM

are you looking for the info for an address over a year? go to the address site on bc.i (for example): https://blockchain.info/address/1CK6KHY6MHgYvmRQ4PAafKYDrg1ejbH1cE

On the right hand site click filter, select Export History, enter your time frame.

Is there an off-chance that your disk is full?

64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setting up Bitcoin Qt and opening port 8333 on: December 10, 2015, 05:20:11 PM

Go here: https://www.whatismyip.com/ .  Note the IP adress. Fill it in here: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and set the port to 8333  You'll want to get a green flag.

Some routers you can set a static internal IP (sometimes called something like: set by MAC Adress etc.)
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I am running 11.0 how do I go to 11.2? on: December 10, 2015, 05:11:45 PM

Do you build yourself? (git etc.)

Otherwise just install the latest binary the same way you installed 11.0.

any anti virus software?

How is the health of your hard drive?

You always can connect to a known good node using the addnode= command.

69  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory 0.93.3 with BIP62 compliance on: December 09, 2015, 02:44:53 PM

I'm already in contact with support, but I'm wondering if other people experience Armory crashes too, shortly after "Organizing Blockchain" starts?

71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Full Node through VPN? on: December 05, 2015, 04:28:22 AM
You can just set your node to use a different port. Just change the port to something else and use that until your ISP blocks it and just keep switching it.

IIRC, different ports than 8333 are not recommended though for nodes, as other clients will look on 8333.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Full Node through VPN? on: November 27, 2015, 05:27:44 AM

Yes, however you probably will find that somebody else will have forwarded 8333 already.

If I remember correctly LB halted their service in Germany.

Anyone knows exactly why LBC halted service in Germany while continuing to operate elsewhere in the EU?

Licensing uncertainty

75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Restriced Network Access to Bitcoin Only on: September 28, 2015, 03:39:02 PM
[...] The shop already has free WiFi available to its customers. [...]
It is not convenient to have every customer who wishes to pay with bitcoin to sign in to the shop's WiFi network. [...]

Out of curiosity, why not? Bitcoin users should realise that they need internet to pay in bitcoin*. If they don't have their own data plan and the shop provides free wifi to customers (which the people with paying bitcoin are too) anyway, how is it not convenient?

Joining an open network is a security / privacy concern.

* There are some wallet solutions that allow a tx to be transferred via bluetooth or NFC, but it obviously depends on the wallet in use.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using python to read blockchain on: September 28, 2015, 03:22:45 PM

Getting data from your locally stored blockchain (running bitcoind or bitcoin-qt) or the blockchain.info service?
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transaction - Major Confusuion on: September 28, 2015, 03:14:37 PM
Instead of pushing over and over, wouldn't it be better to let it drop from the mempool? That way you then can spend those coins using a proper fee.
