Thanks, that helped me out.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Trading Second Life Linden Dollars for Bitcoins on: June 05, 2012, 11:57:08 PM
Alright, so in my long convoluted quest to obtain 1.00 bitcoins, I traded Puzzle Pirates poe for paypal $10, then bought 2000 Second Life Linden dollars because I found VirWoX to exchange Linden Dollars to bitcoins. But then, since it was a new Second Life account, VirWoX wouldn't let me deposit more than 100 Linden Dollars, and the exchange rate is about 1500 Linden Dollars for 1 bitcoin. So here I am, sitting a bunch of L$, and no way of turning it into bitcoins

Is anyone interested in buying some second life linden dollars? They're pretty easy to convert into cash, Second Life itself will do direct payouts to paypal and stuff like that, it's just apparently harder to turn into bitcoins than I thought. I'll give you 2000 L$ for 1.05 bitcoins (the .05 is in case I have to pay any weird transfer fees or something like that, I'd hate to be short a couple pennies and lose out that way). It's a small transaction, and you'll get a couple dollars out of it, but mostly you'd be doing me a big favor.

Scratch that, turns out mini bits was all I needed. I pay someone puzzle pirates Poe, they send me bit coins via minibits, problem solved.

Thanks for the help.

The points aren't easily transferable. You redeem them for gift cards or PayPal generally, but the cards can take a couple weeks to arrive. I could transfer an entire account, but I could always just report it as stolen, so there's no real way to securely transfer it.

Perhaps you could make an account at one of these places with your own recovery details, I'll work for the points, and when I hit goals get paid out a corresponding number of bit coins? With swag bucks this would be pretty secure, since gift cards take a couple weeks to receive the code, it goes to your account, and you would have control over the account.

1 point = 1 cent generally, and I could probably rack up a thousand points in a day or two if I really work at it.

Really? That's neat, I remember when they had risen all the way to $30. It seems like they're going back up to a more reasonable number since the crash.

I need to get a bitcoin, and I'm pretty familiar with swagbucks and sites like that. I feel like I could earn $5 worth of points pretty quickly with peanutlabs, offerwall, radiumone, or any of that offer/survey services that are all over the place. I'm trying to find out if there's a place that lets you do those offers/surveys and turn it into bitcoins. Doesn't need to be a great site, just one that functions and pays out.

I'm really just here so I can purchase/earn 1 bitcoin quickly for a purchase. The transfer wait times are killer, but I understand the necessity.

The only similarly immediate and irreversibly currencies I could think of I possess are Puzzle Pirates poe and Runescape Gold, so I'm hoping someone will accept those for bitcoins.

I really need 1 bitcoin, just one. I've used bitcoins before, but I cashed out completely last time. I'm too impatient to wait for money to transfer, so I'd like to get it done quickly.

At buypoe.com, the going rate seems to be $3-$5 per 100k poe. Since I'm the one being impatient, I'd be willing to pay 300k for 1 bitcoin. I need the whole bitcoin, so I think I would need you to actually transfer like 1.1 bitcoins in case there are transfer fees. But I'm giving you a pretty awesome deal, so I think that's fair.

Hopefully I'll be in the big people forums soon, so if nobody here is interested I'll hopefully get some bites over there.
