161  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Assault weapon bans on: July 21, 2013, 01:52:57 PM
Please answer, why do you suppose Japan regulates firearms so tightly?

There's only one reason why a government would want to regulate firearms: to control the populace.

A government that sincerely wanted to help the citizens would protect their rights, educate them, lead by example, and stay the hell out of the way of everything else (like money creation).

This is conjecture on your part until you back it up with something more. Please do so. Even if you were right, how do you reconcile your beliefs with the annual gun deaths in Japan? And finally, please compare and contrast competing theories, such as a nation's (its people's) interest in safety.

America is still the most free nation in the world, because of one thing and one thing only: the populace is armed, and many of them distrust governments at all levels (rightfully so).

M

By saying something like that you've just proven that you have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the word "free" or "freedom" actually means. Please learn your basics.
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 Scenarios resulting from SD: Bearish vs. Turbo Bearish with Lasers on Top on: July 18, 2013, 02:25:37 PM
Why do people with shares in SD suddenly feel compelled to turn them into fiat?

Exactly.

This idea has been almost the sole reason for the sudden price drop, and I think that's simply not the case.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi Dice Buy out: 126,315 BTC! Payout to be released to share holders! on: July 18, 2013, 12:13:23 AM
Why would they be exchanged for dollars? Isn't it far more likely they'll find their way into other BTC denominated assets??
164  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: July 11, 2013, 07:29:45 PM
I understand the frustration for the long waiting, but at the same time i am deeply saddened by the slander and defamation that is going on here.
As already stated, you will need to wait until the end of  summer for a complete resolution. Anyone who's defaming me deliberately, is missing the point.
I've been scammed multiple times by people that now can be seen at high profile Bitcoin Conferences.
This saddens me even more. Please wait until i post a final update, by then everyone will get his money back.
Alberto

I think a lot of people would be more patient with you if you revealed anything about your plan on how to repay people. You have not even hinted at how you could possibly do this, yet after a year you ask for more time. Is your plan a secret, and if so, why?
165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Equipment Manufacturers [Updated Daily] xCrowd stats fixed, Profit column on: July 10, 2013, 05:15:25 PM
Very useful table comparing equipment from different vendors. Useful but somewhat unfair too bitfury asics.

1. Lead time for 400GH/s unit being sold for 15000 EUR is August, not October. This makes difference, you know.

2. 400 Gh unit with delivery in October costs two times less - 7500 EUR. Big difference again.

3. Moreover, one could order a Starter kit with delivery date in August and 15 extension boards with delivery in October, mine with with 25Gh hashing power for two months then install extension boards in October. 1000 + 15 x 350 = 6250 EUR only, not 7500. Im not sure how exactly you will calculate ROI in this case, but for me it looks like 400GH bitfury unit is going on the first row of your table.

All this numbers are without VAT. But VAT differs between countries, sometimes you can have reduced VAT and also many miners bought equipment for their registered
businesses so they didn't pay VAT at all. I've seen at least two European customers on this forum who didn't pay VAT, there should be more of them. To be honest, I don't know if KNC miner price is final and everything is included.

I remember there was bitfury/metabank device on the first row of your table with 120GH/s for $2160 and delivery in August. Yes it was for Russian market only, is this a reason you don't mention it anymore? Could we have it back, probably with some remark "For Russia only" or something. Thank you.

From your table one can decide that bitfury and knc are on the same stage of development/production, but that's just not true. Bitfury chip is tested by many testers already. It works. New tests show higher hash rate or lower consumption, if needed. Boards are developed. And we didn't see anything from KNC besides words and some strange FPGA prototype. Of course you can't show all details in your table, I just want to demonstrate that devices being on quite different stages of development/production look similar in your table.

I believe if you fix those "small mistakes" in your table, it's gonna look very different from current version.

For reference: Im not in bifury team or anything, Im his customer. I wish KNC and others to deliver on time and yet honor their promises on hashing speed and power consumption. We don't need monopoly here.

Hope I was helpful, thanks and regards.

Ouch!  I thought I had fixed that.  I'm about 1500 REF# tags away from being able to post a fixed copy too.
Do note at least that in the profitability charts above that I do have it right.
Wow, I was off on the 120GH too?  I couldn't find it available anywhere, so I assumed they switched over to the 400.

As far as the unfair treatment of some companies, I agree that the simplistic format doesn't necessarily encourage a full understanding.  As I switch to the new method I think this will naturally be taken care of.  For instance I will add a worst/best case scenario portion that shows maximum tax shipping and electricity cost.

the bitfury 400gh/sec (august) is out of stock so cant order that one anymore
It's all out of stock in few days after sales were started. Does it mean bitfury devices are to be deleted from the table? I don't know..
KNC is not taking pre-orders any more as well, right?
KnCMiner say they are still taking preorders and have not sold out on their first batch.. at least a few days ago.
I didn't realize the 400 was out of stock..  No I won't be taking anything off the list.  I'm going to find a new way to make it clear which units are currently available for sale, and try to keep track of the secondary market too.

Thanks for the effort! This seems like an awful lot of work, especially keeping it updated, and the fairly demanding crowd watching your every move! Smiley
166  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 09, 2013, 07:32:48 PM
In the "Your CDs" paragraph could you please add a "total"?

I second that.

That would be great, and also a projected total at the end of the CD would be amazing Smiley

Top avond gehad.

Zelfde plaats, zelfde tijd volgende maand?

Smiley
170  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING - Now ASIC/GPU mining BTC/LTC/NMC/FTC/IXC/DVC! on: June 30, 2013, 09:33:47 PM
Pretty exciting to see the first donation roll in!
171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Low Watt Miners GH/BTC, ROI [Updated Daily] on: June 30, 2013, 06:20:07 PM
Yes, it's unfortunate that the table can't encompass every bit of info.  I am working on making multiple tables, though, that give a more full impression.  Doing things like having 3 different ways of calculating difficulty and comparing them, adding likely costs of the DIY manufacturers that they haven't..  a lot of information like that.  Also I can make custom tables to take a person's electricity cost and shipping into account.

I'd be very interested to see those charts! Thanks for the effort you put toward making and maintaining them! Smiley
172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thighs still hurt after exercising? on: June 30, 2013, 12:43:38 AM
take a cold shower or ice bath. also shake your thighs to get the latic acid out, drink tons of water, and STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER EXERCISE (MOST IMPORTANT) and continue to exercise every week. don't give up, not being able to get off the shitter been there done that but your body get used to working out and your legs/ muscles won't  stiffen up anymore.

solid advice

Actually, if you read the articles posted earlier it's the opposite of solid advice. Besides the obvious encouragement to keep exercising of course Smiley
173  Economy / Securities / Re: NASTY MINING's 60GH/s ASIC Miners have arrived!!! on: June 30, 2013, 12:04:38 AM
Awesome, I see the new units have arrived!!!

You let the cat out of the bag!   Grin

Yes, our new units have arrived and are hashing away with only a little bloodshed (those BFL cases are sharp)!  We've also begun mining FTC with our GPU miner's CPU.  The OP will eventually be updated showing our FeatherCoin wallet balance.  That brings us to currently mining BTC/LTC/NMC/FTC/IXC/DVC.  Very exciting!

EDIT: This brings us to over 10MH/s per seat!

Great news! Thanks for your ongoing effort! And still 5 more are expected to arrive, can't wait! Oh I remember the picture you took of a mostly empty room, how are things looking now? Smiley

Very cluttered.  I got everything running, and for the most part our ASICs look nice and happy.  The 5 remaining FPGAs waiting to be sent back are pretty much thrown around the room.  I'll get it cleaned up after a shower and some rest.  Perhaps tomorrow (or soon) I'll post some miner pr0n.

Cool, no rush Smiley
Oh and just the other day I thought about something in regards to the BFL singles; when BFL first announced their Singles they said they would be 60GH, then later they announced they would be 50GH. Now if my memory serves me correctly they also said people who ordered 60GH singles would be receiving hardware for 60GH. Have you heard anything about that from BFL?
