21  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 2 btc loan on: July 19, 2012, 06:46:28 AM
Like I said, I'm not going to waste time with losers like nimda,, bo2573, Tomatocage, they probably are too poor to afford providing a 2 btc loan anyways, I probably did more volume in the last week than they ever did combined for their entire bitcoin career. (sorry for being so crude, it is simply reciprocated) Kindly show me a shred of proof that you did more than a few hundred in trades in total.

Proof that I withdrew $800 from Gox just a few days ago, and god knows they take ages to do any wire: http://imm.io/x5Pw

I don't need this loan anymore, BTCtalk's 'Lending' section has shown to be utterly disgusting in their treatment of accounts with low post counts. If you don't wish to provide a loan, don't post, period. I don't really have any more time to waste on this section anyway.

To PatrickHarnett and Tittiez, I do appreciate the lending offer you have provided, and I am truly glad maturity shows within highly respected members of the forums. All the best with your lending businesses.

Thanks,
Jean

I need it to repay someone urgently for a small job they did. I just withdrew 800 from Mt. Gox last week and their wire hasn't processed, so I would need this urgently.

Like I said, I'm willing to show ID scan to a trusted lender.

25  Economy / Services / Re: [HIGH BANDWIDTH/THROUGHPUT] Site Stress Testing - Pay in bitcoins! on: July 15, 2012, 12:20:15 PM
If so, doesn't matter then. I can attack any site hosted on the Internet, registration info is not taken into account since 90% of whois data are invalid anyway.

Also, to kickstart my service, I am offering a completely free demo on a website of your choice for the next reputable member (200 posts +) that PM's me and agrees to write his honest opinion after the trial.

Cheers all.
26  Economy / Services / Re: [HIGH BANDWIDTH/THROUGHPUT] Site Stress Testing - Pay in bitcoins! on: July 15, 2012, 09:45:39 AM
It depends on your server, most shared hosting sites have pretty good containment capabilities. I do not believe that maxing the connection on a shared hosting account would degrade performance of other sites hosted on the same server. Furthermore, there is no incentive to pay for so much for stress testing on a shared hosting account, both from a financial and technical POV.
27  Economy / Services / Re: [HIGH BANDWIDTH/THROUGHPUT] Site Stress Testing - Pay in bitcoins! on: July 15, 2012, 06:53:03 AM
Can I use this to attack someone I don't like/ competitor's website?
NO, strictly NO. Period. This service is for legal testing of YOUR OWN websites and servers only. You must prove ownership of any website you request an attack on.

I'm just curious how to prove ownership?

If my domain is anonymous, thats a no go

I can upload files but that doesn't prove i own it, just means i have access.

If you have a VPS do you really own anything to test?

Does this stress test only apply to port 80?

You need to upload a html file with a given code to prove ownership. If you have FTP or upload access then I consider it beyond reasonable doubt that you own the server.

What do you mean by 'anonymous' domain?

As long as you have a site name (domain or IP address), I can stress the server.

The stress test applies to all ports.
28  Economy / Services / [HIGH BANDWIDTH/THROUGHPUT] Site Stress Testing - Pay in bitcoins! on: July 15, 2012, 04:30:21 AM
Hello to all bitcoiners here,

I'm offering to stress test the servers and websites you LEGALLY OWN in exchange for bit coins.

What is a stress test?
Stress testing is sending a HUGE amount of traffic to your site, similar to a high throughput DDOS or attack. This allows you a great opportunity to observe if your site handles/scales well under load.

What is your throughput?
I cannot answer that to protect my competitive advantage. However, what I CAN say is that I have been able to take down ALL the sites requested by my customers. I can offer a small demo if you are a trusted member, contact me via PM.

How much does it cost?
Please contact me for a custom quote, price depends on the resources required to attack your server and the duration of the requested attack. The range for most small websites is smaller than 10 bit coins. I offer free demos for trusted members, contact me via PM.

Can I use this to attack someone I don't like/ competitor's website?
NO, strictly NO. Period. This service is for legal testing of YOUR OWN websites and servers only. You must prove ownership of any website you request an attack on.

Great, how do I contact you?
You can do so by PM, my typical response time is a few minutes if I'm online.

Contact me via PM for custom quotes and trials. Trusted members can pay after the service.

Check your PM.
33  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling $100 Moneypak for Bitcoin on: July 01, 2012, 01:04:53 PM
I received the $260 MP as a gift, so unfortunately I don't have receipts. What I am willing to do however is show my ID in order to verify my legitimacy (only if you are well-respected in the community: I'm not about to show my IC to any random asking), or wait till you have 'cashed out' the Moneypak then receive the Bitcoin (again the respect applies)

I believe what I am offering is more than a fair showing of trust on my side for my moneypak, and if somehow it is insufficient, I am absolutely in no hurry and am willing to hold until a legitimate seller comes along.

Cheers.

36  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's happening in December? on: July 01, 2012, 12:23:33 AM
Bitcoins will be generated at 50% the rate they are now.  How will that affect price?  A quick look at what happened to Ixcoin and i0coin tells us that their price doubled to tripled after the block reward reduction.
That is very interesting. It was also my theory.

My reasoning is that miners more often will sell to fund their operation while speculators and real users buy.

If the buyers are stable and supply is suddenly cut in half price has double for the buyers to be able to dump their fiat into BTC.

That then creates a rally to more than double and then back "down" to double again after the rally ends.

(Supply is the flow, not the total amount, same with demand.)

I shall recommend people to buy then.

You have to consider that miners may follow basic economic theory too (that people will hold on to their money if they expect it to appreciate)

Hoarding by miners, plus heavy buying by speculators will push the bit coin price further up, providing nothing catastrophic impacts upon the bit coin economy.
37  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Poll] Rugatu - instant funding options on: June 30, 2012, 01:54:40 PM
I voted to help you out, although I feel that Gox would be the most flexible in terms of liquidity.
38  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading the btc/usd / btc/eur price against usd/eur price question. on: June 30, 2012, 12:33:47 PM
I've been attempting arbitrage between BTC/USD on the different exchanges, but being primarily a non-US citizen, I'm severely limited to only a few exchanges (btcex and btc-e together with Gox), the largest factor being the transaction fees.
39  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Idea: synthetic contracts of stocks valued in bitcoins trading exchange. on: June 30, 2012, 12:30:43 PM
So would stocks on your hypothetical bit coin trading exchange mirror that of the actual market on Nasdaq or NYSE? Or would you settle on a pre-determined date and time to start your bit coin denominated 'synthetic contract' at the going market price at that moment? Because either way I see many problems arising in the long run.

Personally, I don't feel that mirroring the real-world stock exchange using bitcoin would work - Bitcoin itself is decentralized and attempts at making it a pseudo-centralized real world stock exchange would ultimately be self-destroying.
