WISHLIST:

Right now, when bitcoind dies, p2pool continue working and is still sending work to connected miners. All miners connected to node with dead bitcoind, will generate 100% DOA shares.

My suggestion is to make a change:
When p2pool detects that bitcoind is dead, it should not only write a warnings on webUI and in the log, it should disconnect all connected miners immediately, with 403 Forbidden or something, so they can connect to other, backup pool.

Can anyone look into this, please?  Smiley

Can merged mining daemons report their getwork latency to p2pool and we can have nice graphs, like for bitcoind getwork latency?

I'm running a small GPU on p2pool (V 11.2) for mining LTC at around 145 kh/s with cgminer (V 2.11.4).  Everything seems to be working but I noticed that instead of the usual 3 shares/minute on BTC mining, I'm getting about 120 shares/minute with LTC.  Basically the shares are flying past.

Is there a way to increase the share difficulty my miner sees to slow this down?

It's the same. You add /x000 to your username to increase share value. And add +x to increase difficulty value.

so you could use aseras/2000

Or

Aseras+4

Or aseras/2000+8

Many combinations. You try to make it so that you find a few shares per hour.

Hold on, can you please explain? Smiley
username/2000 - that's "big shares" difficulty, which p2pool counts as our income, correct?
username+2000 - what's exactly that, then? Smiley Difficulty given to stratum-cgminer?

DeadTerra, just go see your local Notary Public. You don't need a lawyer.

DeadTerra, did you claim shares of Gigamining? Angry
I did for my personal shares and I already receiving weekly dividends. It was easy.

As for forking.. I'm not using p2pool as long as there's < 1TH in it.  The variance is simply too much for me.  If the ASIC fork is unusable by GPUs, then I simply will never use p2pool again.  It's unfortunate, but that's how it is.
Instead of switching and helping us you're sitting there and waiting for miracle. Act now and do something, waiting will never help it to raise to that hashrate level. I just switched my miners to p2pool couple of days ago, I will accept variance because I am getting more BTC than anywhere else.

Hey guys,
I am trying to make bfgminer from git working with my Cairnsmore1 boards with HashVoodoo bitstream.
Some details:
AMD A10 APU + ASRock FM2A75 Pro4
Code:

I tried to use latest bfgminer from git dated as below:
Code:
commit 7454181fcffdea59bb2cf6f32809df6c78bc47a5
Merge: f374013 d41b6b2
Author: Luke Dashjr <luke-jr+git@utopios.org>
Date:   Thu Apr 4 00:42:38 2013 +0000
I successfully compiled it with default settings. When I am running bfgminer from command line, that's what I have:
Code:
./bfgminer -D -T

I have one ECM 0 detected properly with dynamic hashrate and 3x ICA with default 150MH/s speed, no dynamic frequency scaling Sad

However, I was digging further and discovered, that Ubuntu Lucid Lynx AMD64 binary (bfgminer_2.10.5-0lucid1_amd64.deb) is working fine on my system:
Code:
# /usr/bin/bfgminer --version
bfgminer 2.10.5
Code:
# /usr/bin/bfgminer -D -T

What should I do, to make bfgminer from git working properly on my system? I prefere to use git version instead of Ubuntu Lucid version on Debian system. Please help  Smiley

972  Economy / Auctions / Re: CM1 Quad Spartan-6 FPGAs reserve 3 BTC on: April 05, 2013, 01:21:14 AM
I bought all 6 boards, other bidder resigned.

I fixed boards by flashing them with HashVoodoo bitstream.
My results so far:
4 boards running 827, 835, 840, 840 MH/s (that's because bfgminer limit 210 MHz per chip, I will increase it later with cgminer)
1 board running 622 MH/s - 202MHz, 210 MHz, 210 MHz, OFF (one FPGA chip is dead)
1 board running 620 MH/s - 200MHz, 210 MHz, 210 MHz, OFF (one FPGA chip is dead)

Entropy-uc estimated it as:
Quote
Two of the boards kick out 50% hardware errors, resulting in an effective hashrate of ~400 MH/s
3 boards have one pair operating below standard for hash rates ~600 MH/s
1 board was programmed with 170 MH/s bitstreams, so it is running at ~680 MH/s
That's 400+400+600+600+600+680 = ~3280
I already have ~4564 (no less than that).

I am very happy with the results. Thank you again Entropy-uc! Smiley
