Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible)

I have a simple suggestion on a feature that I think could be of some real use.
How hard would it be to add a "Balance Check" feature for paper wallets? Basically it would simply allow you to scan a QR code or manually enter an address, then search a block explorer and display the balance for the wallet.
If your wallet already does this, can you walk me through how?
thanks!

From new NXS newsletter: We are very excited to announce Colin has secured an angel investor position with Vector. This gives Colin a vested financial interest in Vector and continues the business relationship with Nexus with the development of satellite and software technology. An “angel” position means Colin was able to participate in one of the early “bridge” funding rounds giving him the legal right to buy Series A, B, and C shares in the future to maintain his percent ownership in Vector. He participated in the round of financing along with other notable companies such as Desert Angels, Arizona Technology Investors, and Kurrent Investment from Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Below is an article outlining how the bridge round ended from the local Phoenix News:
Tucson aerospace startup raises $4.5 million, hiring up to 100 employees
This is very exciting for the future of Nexus and Vector! This is top grade news. I would not be surprised if NXS blow through 10USD. This year. I am buying more. Link to newsletter #3: https://nexusnewsletter.com/

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon

Damn to late for those L3+ at 1370 usd Price now 1644 usd damn it, change the same day when i was placing my buy order Well...I have 4 L3+'s on order. But the May 5th you speak of. Unless they send the damn things, it don't matter much. Has ANYONE on here actually gotten an April 15th unit, or at least an email that they are 'thinking' about it? My fear, is with seg witness in the bag for LTC..that LTC will spike to 20/30 bucks and bitmain will find it's firmware issue is still not up to snuff. (naw, they would not do that ...sh*t in a heartbeat) just love the hostage drama of crypto mnfg's pulling this stunt in the last 3-4 years BFL Knc Alpha Tech Prsopero etc Silly me, I'd thought crypto had 'evolved' beyond such stunts....duh, was I wrong! The only 2 ASICs Ive ever bought and come out ahead were the original Block Eruptor USB Sticks (I bought and then resold rather than actually mined with them) and a KNC titan I bought used which is still mining and has paid for itself (Both in USD and LTC). Every other ASIC has either been a scam or delayed or not up to specs, etc. My titan was the most recent and before that I really had to convince myself to buy it. Im done with ASICs until there is some competition to a) bring down prices b) bring up quality and c) stop these stupid stunts. I really would like to diversify my mining some, ie some SHA256, some scrypt, x11, GPU coins, etc but its just not worth the hassle and risk to deal with shady ASIC companies.... Somethings never change I guess. :/ unfortunate.

Custom chess board and pieces? I've been wanting one of these for a while.
I dont know about chess pieces but the board should be no issue. He has done TAK boards and pieces before but I think those are much simpler. Chess pieces would probably require someone who can carve. I dont even know if his CNC machine would be of much use in that. I'll keep it in mind and ask though.

No problem, if some sort of emblem can be engraved/embedded into the box top or front I would definitely be interested in picking one up. Let me know the outcome when you have more information and shoot me a PM if I miss the updates on this thread. I was thinking the same, maybe a BTC logo or something would be cool. Could be used to keep physical coins in? He does have a small CNC type machine that he can use to cut designs in wood with. I'll keep you posted.

These look pretty cool, I'd be interested to see more samples of his woodworking and size/weight/cost of the wooden box shown.
Dont quote me on prices but a similar box with the same finger joints is selling for $120 and is 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" in size. Thanks for the information, that seems like a reasonable price. Is there any estimate for shipping for these items? At this point, no. Im just trying to help build a case and gather information. If a lot of people speak up and show interest then it will be easier to talk him into accepting Bitcoin. Id like to let this thread go a bit and maybe talk to him this weekend.

I dont think he does any carving but I could be wrong. All his work in done in his own shop starting from raw, rough cut wood.
Prices are not cheap but they reflect the quality. A lot of time and effort goes into each piece. So far I think he only ships to the US and nothing internationally but if there is interest I dont see why that cant change.

Economy / Goods / gauging interest - woodworking for Bitcoin

I have a friend who does woodworking on the side. It started as a hobby but has grown to be a way to make the family a little side money. Most of his sales are online but he does travel to some trade shows and such to sell. He makes a verity of products from bar stools to butcher blocks and cutting boards, checker/chess boards, wine glass holders, jewelry boxes, and more. Id like to talk to him about accepting Bitcoin but before I do I wanted to see what the community thought. Currently I think he only ships to the USA but that could change. Here are a few pictures of his work: http://imgur.com/a/9GfTa
