@Gliss: Is there any chance of SSL support? I suppose it's not urgent for a site like this, but it would be nice to have Smiley

I'll look into it!

183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 19, 2013, 01:43:09 PM
Thanks for fixing NXT capitalization.
BTW
Some NXT coins were annihilated and probably more would be. Actual number of NXT coins can be checked on any node
http://95.85.15.194:7874/nxt?requestType=getBalance&account=1739068987193023818
Currently there are 999 997 987 NXT not 1000 000 000. It would be nice if that could be corrected also

Thanks, will update tonight.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 19, 2013, 12:56:05 PM

Still waiting on an up to date block explorer.

Sorry about the DogeCoin glitch, it should now avoid price manipulations on tiny volume.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 15, 2013, 08:11:07 PM
Gliss, here's a working block explorer for Securecoin SRC http://cryptobytes.info/chains

I think it's stuck.  Last block was found at 2013-09-27 09:57:10 ?
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 15, 2013, 02:51:46 PM

Status on the other coins that have been requested:
DogeCoin - Coming Soon
NetCoin - Coming Soon
Philosopher Stones - Coming Soon
GrandCoin - According to the main thread, super blocks grant additional coins so I can't accurately calculate the total supply based just on the block count
ASICCoin - Waiting for the Coinex API issues to be resolved
XenCoin - Block explorer seems stuck http://xnc.webboise.com/chain/Xencoin
ElephantCoin - Same issue as GrandCoin, unable to calculate Total Supply when super blocks are in the mix
Frozen - No known exchange

Thanks for the feedback and patience, working hard to add new coins and implement the suggested features. Smiley
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 13, 2013, 01:17:52 PM

190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 11, 2013, 04:08:01 AM
Some coins eg pts appear on the list intermittently. Any reason why they are only listed at certain times?

I made it so that coins will be delisted after 6 hours of stale datapoints,  it usually means there are block explorer issues.

What are the next coins planned to be moved there?

Best regards,
Andrew

For all of the coins that have been requested so far, I could not find out where to find the Total Supply in real time.  I'll add any that have that info.

Please be advised that Worldcoin now has a new logo. How do I go about getting it to you?

I'm guessing it's the one on http://www.worldcoinfoundation.org/ ?  I can crop unless there's a better one somewhere.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 10, 2013, 01:32:58 PM
Hey Gliss can you please add Globalcoin.

Coin numbers: http://162.243.239.107/
- Scrape the <strong> tag for coin numbers Smiley

Exchange: https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/76

Thanks!

Thanks, added Smiley

Hey Gliss please change the Quark link on the coinmarketcap.com site to: http://qrk.cc/

Done!

Can you please re-add Elacoin?

I need a link with Total Supply info.

Hi, had some feedback on things that I would make use of if the site offered it.
----------------------
I would like a way to not show the graph, takes up multiple rows and while useful isn't what I'm looking for in a list of prices perhaps a hovering over  Having to page down multiple times is inconvienent.

..

Yes, coming soon.

Dear Gliss,

maybe I just worry a little too much. but if there anything happen that you can't continue your awesome work (touch wood), would there be someone back you up?

Yes, you worry too much Tongue   But if something did occur where I couldn't maintain it, I would hand it off to someone else capable.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 09, 2013, 04:27:06 AM
Added Sexcoin and relisted Noirbits.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 08, 2013, 06:26:36 PM
Thank you for the fantastic site!

The data for Noirbits is wrong. The block explorer for Noirbits has been stuck for weeks on block 30,000 (http://nrb.webboise.com/chain/Noirbits). That's why the number of Noirbits and the market cap are not updating properly. The actual number of total Noirbits is around 1.8 million, so the market cap is over $90,000. There may be no fix for it now. I just wanted to let you know. Smiley

Thanks for notifying, delisted for now.

where's protoshares? yesterday it passed several coins and was like #6 or 7.
my favorite altcoin by far.

Their block explorer is down, hopefully will be up soon.

yes, please add stablecoin back.  while youre at it, securecoin as well.  heck I say add em all.  If anyone gets butturt for you adding something they consider "premined/instamined" they can go create their own better competing website (yeah right thats what I thought)

we just want the cold hard facts.

though exceptions should be made for suspected market maniupulations.

OUTSTANDING job on the website BTW, thanks much OP!  hope you're getting $ from ads

ETA: I see you have automated delisting/relisting due to aged data.  very slick, im impressed OP

StableCoin has a new block explorer: http://185.16.61.172/chain/StableCoin

Thanks! StableCoin block explorer link updated.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 07, 2013, 08:01:46 PM
Added Datacoin.

If datapoints are older than 6 hours old, coins will now automatically be delisted and relisted when the datapoints become available.

Hello.

Could you please add Betacoin?

The network Hash rate is getting larger day by day.
Also, it's only a month out and it reached the value of 0.05$!

I'm having trouble with the Coins-E API.  I'll try to get it up soon.

Nice website and very informative too. Congratulations!

When we choose to rank the altcoins against the BTC price they do not seem to be properly ranked.

They still remain ranked by USD price.

Thanks!  They're ranked by marketcap not price.  When you switch to BTC, it converts the USD marketcap to BTC marketcap so they'll always be in the same order.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 06, 2013, 07:15:14 AM
Added Joulecoin.

I wish there was a way to disable the graphs on the right.  They take up a lot of vertical space, and without them I could see the top 10 coins on one screen.  I would LOVE this!
we need a volume with cap

hmm... I'll see what I can do.

All coins should be listed, regardless if you personally like them or not.  Picking and choosing destroys the credibility of the site.  Ripple and others with a seperate link?  Seriously?   Roll Eyes  You need to take a non-biased stance and list them all, otherwise, it may just be time for a new site done right.  We get enough of this "pick and choose" crap from MSM.  The crypto space, built on a belief in freedom, should be better than that.

It also makes this thread title fraudulent as when I go to coinmarketcap.com, I don't see them all.   Huh

Couldn't agree more. Why stipulate all crypto when only 42 are listed, Coinwarz have 58 listed in total.

This is actually the reason why I joined this forum in the first place a few days ago. I wanted to trade a coin a week prior (JouleCoin). Tried to find graphs (couldn't). Joined this forum and asked to have it added so others would not have the same issue when doing their homework. Long story short, why not make the site a true representation of the crypto market and add them all without bias.

I'm not picking and choosing - I add any coin that has the necessary data publicly available.  Ripple has already been extensively debated in this thread and other places.  I can't please everyone so I went with the best compromise i could come up with.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 05, 2013, 01:32:35 AM
hey coinmarketcap guy.  I was counting coins for sale and there is way more collossal coins for sale than your site says there are total coins.  how can that be?  it says there are 5 billion and so I bought what I thought was a quarter of all coins.  but no.  there are 500 billion.  fuck you

your own fault, cheers.

its my own fault for reading information from this site and thinking it was legit because i saw the site in forbes and business insider(hoow the fuck did they use this bullshit site in their article?)?  sure enough buddy.  I'm not butthurt or nothing I figured this out a long time ago and sold out still at a profit(probably causing the crash)

but god man, you're messing with people's money here you should deliver good information and not be some cheap propoganda bullshit by exposing shitcoins to the larger market through the exposure you got from the magazines(which they have revoked and edited your site out of them because your site is completely misleading at least 30% of the time..., just saying you'll discredit yourself, and someone who is actually legit will take your place with a market cap site that will actually work.

I love what your doing, keep it up, you must be making a killing with your influence over the markets.  assholio

Yes, it is your own fault not having checked twice. Nobody likes false information on a site like this and neither do I. Anyhow, you know yourself that it is your fault to act on one source of information. That's just the facts and not meant to hurt you, sorry mate! Always double or triple check!

I just removed it.  The block explorer that was given (http://cryptobytes.info:3333) is showing the incorrect amount of coins.  Sorry about that.  Sad
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 04, 2013, 07:26:42 AM
Nextcoin added!  QuarkCoin is off the listings again temporarily due to a broken block explorer.

Hi there, great site!

I appreciate that you've at least not included Ripple on the main coin market cap list but I was wondering...

My Request

What do you think about decreasing the valuation of Ripple to reflect the amount of XRP that are actually in circulation?

My argument

Bitcoin's market cap for example is judged on the coins so far mined, not the 21 million total that will ever be mined.

So why is Ripple's market cap based on the total 100 Billion that will someday be bought to market when the current price is reflective of only a tiny fractional amount of that XRP being released?

Using Ripples logic, I could issue 100 billion of my own coins, sell a few to my friends for $10 and the market cap for my new currency would be a trillion dollars! Hell, using their methodology we could probably create a crypto with a cap bigger than the world's GDP in a week. I think only fair and credible to judge Ripples market cap by the amount of XRP that have been provably released?

Maybe they could be on their own list, 'the cartel-cryptos' which doesn't reference Bitcoin at all. A cartel-crypto would be defined  as one where greater than 51% of the total issuance was either self issued or in the hands of small cartel. So Ripple could be listed with Mastercoins and maybe Quark and you could add the traditional central bank cartel currencies to that list as well.

The risk is that a lot of these cartel-cryptos will be made and gain huge fake valuations using Ripples techniques which will make your site less credible and be damaging to the genuine crypto currencies whose valuations are more fair and whose whole ethos is about moving away from centralized/cartel owned and manipulated currencies.

Thanks for considering my request dude! Does anyone else agree with this?

Neat idea, but here are the problems:

1) How do you prove that 'X' amount of XRP have been released?
2) Even if you could prove it, market cap is based on 100 Billion because that's how many there are right now.  The major difference is, at any point in time, OpenCoin can dump their coins on the market.  With Bitcoin, no one can dump unmined coins on the market.

Globalcoin has marketcap of rough $247,000.

Why not listed?

Possibly no working block explorer.

Correct.

Nice sight with a clean layout that focuses on the data.  Kudos!

A feature request if I may...

A Grand Total of Market Cap for all listed Coins.

Done!
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: December 03, 2013, 01:38:02 PM
Thanks for the feedback, all.  Stuff I'm working on:

1. 24 hour rank changes (up/down arrows)
2. API page
3. A way to show which coins are out of date (in case of block explorer failures)
4. Prices in other currencies

And now lot's of stuff to address!  Sorry if I missed anyone's question, let me know if I did.

What's the criteria for new currencies to be added to the list?

1. It's a crypto-currency
2. It's traded on an exchange with an API
3. There is a URL somewhere that shows the total supply of coins in real time

Would you please care to include Opensourcecoin?
You should add NETcoin.
Is it possible to add Globalcoin?
Where is bottlecaps?
could you add Tigercoin (TGC) to your excellent site?
Will you be including Mastercoin and other Decentralized Applications built on top of the Bitcoin protocol on this list?
is it possible to get nibble back to the list?
I can't find securecoin anywhere on the site, considering it's extreme upward movements I'd like to see it there, it would save me a lot of time in market cap calculations.
So what needs to happen to get HBN listed?
I think that Datacoin can also be added to coinmarketcap.

I would love to add all of these, I just need a URL that shows the total supply of the coin in real time (for example for feathercoin: http://explorer.feathercoin.com/chain/Feathercoin/q/totalbc).  I do not have the resources to host block explorers for every alt coin.  Sad

Is there any chance you can add a download link pointing to something simple like a .xls file consisting of what we see on your website?

I'm working on an API so you'll be able to convert to .xls pretty easily.

I have a question about how the price is calculated on this page.

Is it simply a cross between all available exchange prices for the particular currency pair,
or is it also based on how much VOLUME an exchange contributes?

Thanks for enlightening me.

It's currently just the price of the highest volume exchange.

Could you add unobtainium? Or is the market cap too small?

Thx for the awesome site! Grin

I will try!
199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Convert altcoin value to USD/EUR on: December 01, 2013, 05:17:12 AM
Hey Claudi,

You don't need an API key, it's public info:  http://pubapi.cryptsy.com/api.php?method=marketdatav2
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 01, 2013, 04:24:09 AM
Quark is no longer listed: http://coinmarketcap.com/

Probably because they couldn't update the coin.

Can't blame them... QRK is seriously mismanaged... I am working on a block explorer as we speak,
you can't expect a coin to succeed like that... and now with bill still and max keiser talking about it,
we should feel ashamed that the coin's environment is in this bad co(i)ndition.

Sorry for taking QRK off coinmarketcap.  It'll return once the block explorer is fixed.
