241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most alts are worth Zero on: May 02, 2018, 07:16:47 PM
We are in crypto bubble right now!

Exactly same as internet bubble. Every stock had $$$ story. But when the inflow of $ stopped, things went bad.  Same is happening in the cryptocurrencies. Right now inflow of $ is getting low.

Utility and use case is what matter in long term. We have tons of shit coins in the market at the moment with practically no utility or value. The winner in this space might be a cryptocurrency that hasn’t even launched yet.

95% of cryptocurrencies are worth basically zero by any reasonable measure. But I believe one - possibly more - of them might change the world. The best cyrptocurrencies meet an unmet need.

I am bullish on cryptocurrencies long term. But most of the coins at present will not exist.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bought BTC at 20k on: May 02, 2018, 07:08:58 PM
If you had 100k, you spent 50k buying BTC at 20k in Dec 2017 and felt like shit. Now is May 2018 and you have 50k left, which coin would you put your money in so that you don't feel the same way ?
DON'T PANIC SELL!

I have been reading analysis by many trading experts and almost all seem bullish on Bitcoin. This correction of price in year start is because the Bitcoin was overbought during November-December and hence, the correction was inevitable. But now the momentum seems to be building. Bitcoin has insane support at $8200-$8400 levels. Bitcoin is at consolidation stage and the downtrend that begins in January is reversing. Bitcoin has already bottomed out and this is the time to buy more instead of selling your BTC holdings. The projected range of BTC price this year is $25k. Better to HODL.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks and governments scared of Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2018, 06:53:30 PM
It will be wrong to say that banks and governments allover the world are against VCs.

Recently IMF commented positively on the status of cryptocurrencies. IMF said that VCs don't pose any risk to financial stability. Cryptocurrency marketplace is still developing and maturing. Also the Hong Kong government said that cryptocurrencies are not involved much in financial crime like money laundering and terrorism financing. They have stated that there isn't any visible impact of VCs being a facilitator to such crimes. Moreover, NASDAQ is considering jumping in crpto trading.

Bitcoin doesn't exist in such a scale that it can be a reason of worry to banks and governments.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Predicted Ripple Price on: May 02, 2018, 06:36:33 PM
Ripple has failed to go above the trendline for 4 days straight now. It might now correct to the 20-day EMA. Ripple has upper support level at $0.9377. Only the breakout of the upper resistance can confirm a bullish trend. From where it can go up to $1.2 levels. But if it breaks the lower resistance of $0.76, then it can slide more and can reach $0.6 levels. I am out of XRP at this point of time. I am looking forward to how price will turn around and then only I ll take any position in XRP.
245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction on: May 02, 2018, 06:29:35 PM
Majority of the traders have taken long positions on Bitcoin at the moment. This shows that there will be an uptrend in the price soon. Bitcoin is trading inside an ascending channel right now. If bulls successfully break the support line of ascending channel. we could see an appreciation to $10k level which will further lead to a rally to $12k. But if Bitcoin breaks below the ascending channel, it might find the support at the 20-day EMA, below which it will go downward to $8700 levels which subsequently can lead to a drop to $8k level. But latter is less likely to happen.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we hitting another dip? on: May 02, 2018, 06:23:03 PM
Cryptocurrencies are recovering from their recent correction with all the top 10 showing positive percentage gains.

Where Bitcoin was able to breach $9k level by staying at $9100+ successfully, ETH made a decent recovery after Vitalik Buterin twitter post about Sharding, BCH made a good gain with 12% appreciation and IOTA made a successful entry in top 10 back again. Market is now more resilient to the impact of bans and regulations than it was in January. This shows that market is set for a recovery and can overcome correction easily. Right now market is in accumulation stage and is trying to gain more volume before pumping back up.
247  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Expectation of investment return from BTC. on: May 02, 2018, 02:48:39 PM
TRY TO LOOK AT THE BROADER PICTURE.

Right now cryptocurrencies aren't more than a speculative tool for easy ROI to traders and investors. The market is pretty amateur with a marketcap of less than half a trillion. Without a proper use case, many call it a bubble and expect it to die soon.

BUT

With IMF taking seriously, NASDAQ considering opening a crypto trading desk, Lightening Network gaining more adoption and support, Banks exploring crypto trading, governments taking it seriously, cryptocurrencies will definitely turn mainstream in coming years. This is the time when the big financial institutions have started taking Bitcoin seriously. People who are shorting Bitcoin at this point are doing a dumb mistake. I expect huge ROI if all of the above mentioned points turn out to be successful in long term.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE coin will it go beyond $1, why & why not? on: May 02, 2018, 08:20:00 AM
DOGE is basically a parody currency. It hardly has any utility or potential use cases. It is only being used for transactions because of less fees and fast transaction. But this can be very well achieved by many other altcoins as well. Thus, this use case will not gonna help DOGE to sustain its value in long term. Thus, betting long term on this coin isn't going to yield much profit. Better to shift from DOGE to a utility token.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin helpful to the economy? on: May 02, 2018, 08:14:34 AM
The outreach of cryptocurrency is so limited that it hardly has any effect on the economy at the moment. Recently IMF admitted that cryptocurrencies are still in an infant stage with hardly any effect on the financial stability or economy for that matter.

Cryptocurrencies may transform the financial system and economy in future. Before they can transform financial activity in a meaningful and lasting manner, cryptocurrencies will first need to earn the confidence and support of consumers and financial authorities.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 2500 on: May 02, 2018, 08:03:30 AM
$2500 is way optimistic a prediction. But I expect ETH to undergo a pump in short-term after the announcement of "Sharding" by Vitalik Buterin which will help in increasing the Ethereum's transaction processing capability tremendously. After the announcement, price has upsurged irrespective of Bitcoin's correction.

But ETH might face a problem because of their ICO in 2014. According to the Wall Street Journal, Ethereum is coming under particular scrutiny from U.S. federal regulators. This might effect the price in long term.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can market go down now? on: May 01, 2018, 06:11:30 PM
Hey what do you think, can scenario for January repeat? I mean can everything suddenly fall again?
Nobody can predict the exact market behaviour.

The last sudden pump was also not expected. It happened off the charts. No TA was signalling towards the bullish path. I read the forum daily and being an active Twitter user, there was no speculation of the sudden pump. Similarly, right now, charts are signalling towards impending dump. But the market can turn in any direction. I expect another bull run before bear takes over.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let us have some fist bump for the crypto market price increase. on: April 30, 2018, 06:42:27 PM
I know that there are many investors out there who are enjoying now the view from the crypto market scene. Most of the crypto are increasing as of this moment and it shows through the graphical representation beside with the crypto together with the percentage number of increase. We are now facing a good offerings in the cryptocurrency and will be hoping that this will continue to soar high as we get what we wanted to happen in the crypto market price. And since the increase has gone so far then let us have some fist bump as the crypto market price will soar high. This is my way to get more positiveness along with the increase.
This is being way too optimistic. We should see the numbers and volumes before concluding anything in trading.

This is not alt season, this is still a bear rally only. Compare the volume and the rise percentage with last alt seasons. Volume is fizzling out. Rise percentage isn't at all comparable to last alt season. All alts seasons are cyclic in nature. Big cap starts moving first, then comes the Mid cap and in the last part of the alt season, lower mid caps and small caps starts booming. We have almost entered that stage. So small caps are expected to boom.

253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Your faworite bounty tokens on: April 30, 2018, 06:34:14 PM
For me the best have been PRL (Oyster Pearl).

It's a gem to be bought and hold with unique use case. Token value is pegged against data capacity and not any bullshit metric. It's a revenue model for website to liberate from monopolistic hold of google or facebook in advertisement sector, making the experience of users more pleasant. This coin has done quite well since the ICO and the project an team is active. They are going to release the mainnet on may 29th.

It's still unmoved,  tech is best.  Can give a good upmove in may.
Hold for this month for 50% upside
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Analysts Predict Upcoming Bitcoin ‘Price Explosion’ on: April 30, 2018, 06:25:04 PM
Bitcoin received an extensive selling pressure in first Quarter of 2018. First by MT Gox hefty sell off, then by the hackers of a Japan echange and finally by the US citizens before the Tax day. But regarding entering a bull market, I still doubt it. BTC is preparing a last jump to 10500 to FOMO in the last bear becoming bull. After 10500 BTC will be in distribution stage for some time and then there might be a cracking fall. Most probably btc pop up is near and will happen in next 2-3 days and then it will fizzle down creating a wick touching 10500(or near to it) and hence, creating a perfect gravestone doji on daily. That will give way for a downward slope in future.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 10x coin? on: April 30, 2018, 06:12:04 PM
Not sure about 10x, but I expect these coins to do 4x-5x in mid term.

  • IOST: This coin is a gem for mid term to long term HODL. With ICO price of 0.000005-0.00001 ETH, coin is expected to touch 0.00001 ETH soon. Price is witnessing an organic growth. With an active team and a project with partnership in 9 countries, IOST can easily enter top 20 coins on CMC in mid term.
  • POA Network: A nice coin to retain for mid term. Consensus model is what needed for evolving in right direction with less power consumption and being more distributed, I expect coin to do 4x-5x in the time period of 3-4 months.
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will cross 10k ? on: April 27, 2018, 05:43:41 PM
There always have been a weird correlation between Tether(USDT) and Bitcoin. Whenever new Tether get printed, BTC price pumps as most of the investment goes directly into BTC .

Recently, 80 million tether were printed and 50 million will be printed soon. Thus, 130 million will come in circulation and this could potentially pump Bitcoin. Due to the expiration of futures contract on Friday, price has already crossed $9k barrier again. This can help in breaking $10k wall.
257  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - Can it boost or break a countries economy? on: April 27, 2018, 05:39:02 PM
I don't see economy working efficiently over the economical model cryptocurrency possess becauseof following reasons.

  • Due to the high volatility, cryptocurrencies can never be used as an effective currencyin facilitating international trades.
  • Due to anonymity,  it will become for state to gather tax and hence can restrict development proces of a nation.
  • Also, cryptocurrenciez may seem decentralized, but in actual some 4% own the largest share and they can run the market and the price according to their will. This can be a threat to a nation's financial stability.
258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap - Manipulation? on: April 26, 2018, 06:36:37 PM
Hello,

sometimes I see coins on coinmarketcap which shows extreme gains,
but when I look at the exchanges, the price is much lower.

For example 6 $ on Coinmarketcap and 2 $ on an exchange.

How is that possible? Is this a bug or manipulation?
This must be the case with small cap coins. Usually, the local exchanges or exchanges which have suspended withdrawal or deposit, tend to show higer prices. Coinmarketcap shows average price from all the exchanges and that's why the price sometimes seems high than actual price on international exchanges.

This was the reason for which coinmarketcap stopped showing prices from Korean exchanges where coins usually are sold on premium.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Mature market once alts move independent from BTC on: April 26, 2018, 06:31:51 PM
Market can be said mature when there is more diversified distribution of cryptocurrencies. Right now a small percentage owns the maximum marketcap. This isn't the sign of a healthy market. Also, when coins will utility will start gaining the top 10 positions, market can be said mature. I think we need a regulation over ICO for saving useless creation of tokens and scam projects. More vetter diversification, we will need more adoption. Crypto sphere needs to attract more investors from other investment vehicles.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to minimize the risk and choose the best altcoins? on: April 26, 2018, 06:25:39 PM
Diversification!

Go for a diversified portfolio with large, medium and small cap coins and with some potential ICO tokens. Large cap coins are best for long term Hodl. Medium cap coins usually have wide acceptance and utility. But choose wisely. With small cap, go for very short trading or day trading. ICO tokens again for long term. This way you can efficiently do risk and capital management.
