821  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Piper Paper Wallet - Why are there no replies??? on: July 23, 2013, 03:54:57 AM
The project is quite cool, but it is flawed.

The printer uses thermal paper. Thermal paper fades VERY quickly. Now that's a pretty big flaw.

If it was part of a throwaway quick use system (designed to be used imidiately) it could be useful.

If the designer changed it to your old style dot matrix printing I'd buy 2 of these right now.

824  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [ANN] TheBitcoinMuseum.com - Archiving Bitcoin Memorabilia for Future on: July 20, 2013, 10:42:14 PM
I remember seeing that a few months back.

The museum was still in development, and it'd already been sold Sad

Purchasing anything right now will be a bit tough until all my bloody ASICs arrive.
825  Economy / Goods / Re: [For Sale] Bitcoin Stylus Pens on: July 20, 2013, 05:23:27 AM
I'd like to get some of these put in the museum.

Have a look at the link at the bottom of the page and PM me if you're interested Smiley
826  Economy / Goods / Re: [SELLING] 1g Silver Round "The Genesis Block" by BitcoinNerd on: July 20, 2013, 02:59:53 AM
I don't know the technical details that well myself, but it has to do with the way the blockchain works. The private key can be sold or traded or even shared, but funds from block #1 can never be spent.
827  Economy / Goods / Re: [SELLING] 1g Silver Round "The Genesis Block" by BitcoinNerd on: July 19, 2013, 10:54:53 PM
Thanks for that!

Not enough people here know the history of bitcoin Smiley

831  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you believe is moral? on: July 19, 2013, 03:23:20 AM
9. Would it be morally wrong for you and the majority group to designate someone to hire someone to steal from me as long as that designation was called a 'vote' and the theft was called a 'tax' or 'fine'.
10. Would it be morally wrong for the majority to elect someone with their votes to hire tax agents and police to go collect taxes from me?

I see what you did there Smiley
832  Economy / Goods / Re: [SELLING] 1g Silver Round "The Genesis Block" by BitcoinNerd on: July 18, 2013, 05:54:05 PM
Can you take a picture of one next to something like a dime for a size reference?

Until I take a picture, you could use the image made from the 1st 1g Silver round thread.  That'll give you a better idea of dimensions.

834  Economy / Goods / [SOLD OUT] 1g Silver Round "The Genesis Block" by BitcoinNerd on: July 18, 2013, 05:18:45 PM
SOLD OUT

In the tradition of Mjbmonetarymetals' 1 gram .999 fine silver "bitcoin" design rounds I've created my own 1 gram silver coin.

I present to you, my 1 gram silver round that I call, THE GENESIS BLOCK!

It's to commemorate the first Bitcoin block mined by Satoshi on the 3rd of January 2009.  The Bitcoin address on the back is the address it was paid into, the most significant event in Bitcoin History!

The quality of these coins is just fantastic!  The mint I used did a very very good job indeed!

I'm releasing this to coincide with the opening of The Bitcoin Museum

Prices...
Please note that the BTC price displayed and the price at checkout may be a little different.  This is because I use a Gox Plugin to convert display prices, and bitpay uses Coinbase as their sales price.
Pay with BITPAY, Your MtGox Account or PAYPAL

The coins can be purchased here.
Postage is $6 flat rate International.  Parcels will be sent Standard post.

Now, for a competition...
The first person to post here the significance of the bitcoin address on the 2nd side I'll send you a coin for free!
835  Economy / Marketplace / [ANN] TheBitcoinMuseum.com - Archiving Bitcoin Memorabilia for Future on: July 18, 2013, 04:26:30 PM
Hi! A few of you have probably noticed that I've not been posting to much the last few months.  I've been busy creating...

As the Museum Curator my Job is to collect as much Bitcoin related physical memorabilia and equipment that I can find. The items in the museum also contain as much information as I can muster on the items themselves.

-BitcoinTalk Link
-Creator
-Address
-Stored Bitcoin Value
-Web Page
-Still Available From Creator
-The Museum Has a Sample Stored
-Weight in Grams (g)
-Dimensions
-Total In Cirulation
-E-mail
-Release Date
-First Recorded Use
-Made With

Obviously not every field applies to every item, but I try to be as thorough as possible.  Every item has a link where you can post a comment, so if you see any information that is incorrect, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

We also ask that if you have a physical bitcoin product for sale, I'd love to put it in the museum! Now you may also notice that I have a couple of items on there for sale, and a donation button.  Most of the profits of the sellable items will go towards acquiring new items to display, from those people who do not want to donate their items.

NOTHING from the display items will EVER be sold.  I'm keeping these here for the future. I'd like to one day (once bitcoin is used by everyone in the world) be able to display all these items in an actual museum for the world to see.

Please note : My web design skills got a bit rusty after not using them for over 10 years, so if you notice something broken, please let me know Smiley
836  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: TradeFortress! Blackmailed me with dox to install Teamviewer on: July 18, 2013, 02:53:28 PM
I'm not on anyone's side here...

Is it just me or does TradeFortress get a lot of Scam Accusations?  What keeps happening that all these pissed off people keep posting these?
837  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] www.AlphaHPC.com - Order Complete Miners & Avalon Chips from 2.146 BTC on: July 18, 2013, 07:47:00 AM
How goes this?
838  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 17, 2013, 03:43:27 PM
I have orders placed going back to Sept with 3 people selling me their gear second hand as soon as they get it (June and July orders)  This total hashrate is in the 2-3TH range I believe...

Who on Earth would sell that much hasrate right now?  This infers 1 of three things...

1) By "buying second hand" you mean you're getting some devices from BFL that you ordered but didn't pay for yet

2) You're buying the devices second hand and paying a ridiculous markup

3) The person you're purchasing the minirigs from is completely retarded and is selling an item they purchased 12 months ago, that they've only just received.

I'm not trying to be aggressive here, I'm just attempting to understand the plan.

also

When will dividends begin to pay?

and...

It's been asked a few times already, but when are you expecting to receive the other 8TH/s from BFL?
