Disclosure: I have a short open too, as a hedge. At the moment it's about half the size of my still painful long, and with patient scalping and rebuilding it has already paid me about 25% of the suffering. I will let it go if I can close it in the green (which is still totally possible), or when my stop hits - that is, when the long position's loss gets about half of what it is. There are attitude differences between shills/nocoiners and me, though. - I just do it when/because I feel I need to, so that I can reduce losses incurred or improve profits made on the long side. I am always fundamentally long, because I think it's just a matter of time until it eventually pays out. - I am wary of shorting the corn. It's bad karma, and her cruelty to shorters can be wanton. Well, to longers too occasionally. - I feel a tingle of shame when I reveal my short positions here  as long your #HODL positions are larger than your short positions I would say it's just greed and not blasphemy.  |

^^jeder hat halt seine strategie. die #HODL strategie stammt noch aus den zeiten wo man gut beraten war nicht bei jedem neuen höchsstand (2-stellig, 3-stellig, 4-stellig) zu verkaufen wenn man z. Bsp. als Early Adaptor bei 1-stellig eingestiegen war. manche haben zwar dadurch das geschäft ihres lebens gemacht waren aber dann auch endgültig aus dem spiel raus. viele haben auch nicht die geduld/nerven/möglichkeit für eine reine #HODL strategie. für manche ist aber BTC die einzige antwort auf das kranke system und schon aus prinzip kommen andere investments nicht frage. war halt vor ein paar jahren noch eine ganz andere stimmung hier mit einem quasi-religiösem hintergrund. (die guten alten zeiten!) EDIT: belächelt und verachtet vom mainstream früher und mit erhobenem haupt heute wenn nun sogar die hochfinanzwelt instrumente mit BTC eingeführt hat. |

if I understand Options and the strategies behind right market will mature in 2020. with Options the smart money is able to participate on huge price swings with small risks (pay just the option premium if no volatility) and this will flatten the price swings in my humble opinion.
EDIT: it could be the bubble market as we know it from the past will come to an end after the next halving event for a very long time. BTCitcoiners you know what that could mean!

this is nonsense, btw. demand and supply. if demand will be at the same level after halving event like it is now supply will be half of the level after halving because production of BTC will be reduced by 50%. this cannot be "priced in" as of now.  it is right that some news can be "priced in" because they have a psychological effect on the habits of human beeings (e.g. Bakkt announcement - "buy the rumours, sell the news"). but hard facts will take effect at the moment the effect occurs or shortly after. the two halving events of the past are good examples. |

FAKE NEWS!!Heading towards $4k around October 2020. Forget the "halfing". It was priced in early - 1 year early - and profits got taken in the 12k "fakeout". That's what bitcoin does folks - what you're not expecting. New ATH around 2023, 2024, just at long term log charts have been predicting. Time between peaks increasing as marketcap increases.

Nobody was talking about BAKKT when the price was rising....
I don’t think BAKKT have had anything to do with any pump yet from this year....
For sure we spoke about Bakkt being a positive catalyst on the exiting from the crypto winter. There was a lot of theories about bakkt launch, with mini-dump each time it got delayed.. Bakkt case would be a good explanation for this ups and downs after the plump to $3.2k and a fairly weighted price of $6k for BTC. real costs of production and number of all transactions did matter in the past even if we got exaggerations in both directions. cost of production will increase after halving and in the past it took some time to get an effect on the price. let's hope $6k will be the bottom even if we don't like it after the Bakkt rally and our wet dreams to be millionaires in no time. EDIT: there will be Options on the CME in Q1/2020 too. I hope they will have an effect of compensation to the Futures because you have both available in every mature high finance market. thought I have to learn about it more. |
