1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Non-Poll: How would you Explain Bitcoin to a 7 year old Child? on: June 28, 2011, 06:58:33 PM
Bitcoin: play-money for grown-ups.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox - Account Balances on: June 27, 2011, 05:52:37 AM
Nope.  My account not showing the BTC deposit I made right before the lights went out.  I'm getting a little nervous.  Opened a support ticket.  But I'm sure they are backed-up there.
Same situation. Hopefully it's taken care of within ~2 weeks.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Mt. Gox was at $17.95, TradeHill was at $16.90 on: June 27, 2011, 05:51:19 AM
Loose money where? On the floor? In your pocket?

Don't lose your loose money.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else with 0/0.00 balance not yet get their account back from Mt. Gox? on: June 27, 2011, 02:25:24 AM
They could have added that script in like 2 minutes or less,

Isn't that the story already? Implement password hash in 2 minutes or less?

Yeah, maybe they should've spent 2 minutes on something like that. It is trivial after all. So is security - who cares?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attn: Tradehill on: June 26, 2011, 02:11:53 AM
then you don't have any room to criticize others

Yes, we shouldn't criticize people because we don't know things. We shouldn't criticize the US budget because we're not economics majors. We shouldn't criticize the repairs on our vehicles because we're not full-time mechanics. We shouldn't criticize air quality because we're not air quality testers. So on and so forth...

This forum is so fucking awesome. Loaded with entertainment value.
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining strike on: June 24, 2011, 02:01:12 AM
I suggest a strike against mining.

Temps are ~110F here, my house with A/C blasting barely goes below 100F while mining...I can't take the heat, and nobody else should either. STRIKE!
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX opening on: June 24, 2011, 01:57:06 AM
Yeah, I got goxed a couple times today. Lost 2BTC directly to goxing, and my engine temp in my truck goxed on the way home. Thankfully it was just low fluid - let it cool and put some coolant in, all better, but still, didn't need goxed like that.

They've got my damned money, have made me jump through hoops to get it back, and I still don't know what the hell is going on. I want my fucking money.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox opens in less that 5 hours. Anyone gotten a "Recovery Success" email? on: June 24, 2011, 01:55:09 AM
Calm down gaise!! Mr Gox will send out those Emails at the last minute,
That's not good enough. These fuckers have my money. They've denied me access to my money for days now. I want my fucking money.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: I am going to spend my coins. on: June 22, 2011, 05:16:02 AM
Maybe someone will spend the coins stolen from a friend's account on you.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have we all learnt from the Mt Gox incident? on: June 20, 2011, 07:48:24 AM
I've learned that watching people freak out when shit goes down, start speculating on what happened, then spouting their shit as fact is lulzy.

Lots of great stories.

Can't wait to see it again.

lulz
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] lulzSec secure, private exchange on: June 20, 2011, 07:45:04 AM
LulzSec is nothing more than a bunch of dumb teenagers using entry-level penetration testing tools.

And the lulz grows.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mtgox hack confirmed on: June 19, 2011, 07:24:13 PM
This also confirms that someone has 500k BTC in his mtgox account and he is most likely the person behind constant price manipulation on Bitcoin market.

250k, but it's really neat that you think this, with no points of proof whatsoever. Cute, really.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: seriously... on: June 19, 2011, 05:54:50 PM
...makes me sad that I didn't have any spare USD in the account. Baw.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Success with donation addresses in signatures on: June 19, 2011, 05:44:34 PM
It seems like cheap begging, never understood the point of putting one in a signature. It's not like 99.9 people will recieve anything.

Because we're COOL BITCOIN USERS nobody will EVER UNDERSTAND THESE LETTERS AND NUMBERS

LET'S GEEK OUT BRO

...the fad wore off, though. I don't know why I still have one in my signature. I never received anything.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Thank goodness for pools. All paid up. on: June 16, 2011, 01:16:04 AM
What is your hashrate?

I'm at around 3Gh/s now, and near the beginning of the year, I was slightly ahead of the curve. Some time in March or April, though, I just stopped finding blocks. Switched to pools in late April. Haven't found one since. Tested miners, they're working fine.

Now I'm doing some Namecoin and I have found blocks, though I'm still slightly on the unlucky side. But you aren't alone in finding nothing.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long, boring drives: PLATO's Bitcoin Road Trip [May 30-June 4: Denver>SLC>Vegas] on: June 13, 2011, 05:03:21 AM
In Vegas yet? We've got a Bitcoin meetup down here and could get together. Let me know if you're interested.
17  Economy / Marketplace / Re: MtGox supports Dwolla on: June 08, 2011, 11:59:08 PM
Count me in as another that had previously successful withdrawals, but has withdrawn on the 5th and still has seen nothing. It's costing me money.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox vs mysterious Russia on: May 04, 2011, 04:40:59 AM
Can't access from my iPhone or home connection. Thought it was down again... has cost me money :/
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How important is power efficiency in mining? on: April 07, 2011, 07:25:24 AM
Would this be enough to cause people to switch en masse to this hypothetical new mining technology?

Considering most "miners" are people who are using equipment they already have, probably not. Dedicated miners, who knows? Probably?

I know that if an ASIC design came out that was fast and cheap enough, I might buy into it, but it'd have to be my view of fast and cheap enough. I don't have cards dedicated just to mining, they also serve the purpose of LAN gaming. But I have interest in BTC, so back to the first sentence...
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: your age on: March 19, 2011, 02:09:58 AM
Looks like we have a very smart 10-year-old here.  Smiley
I am 10 and what is this ? Tongue
