Probably not the right forum to say this but...
Alt-coins my good man! Bitcoin for Earth, Litecoin for Mars, Bytecoin for Jupiter, ETCoin for Saturn, ETCoin...
Either that or we will have discovered new physics and ways to manipulate them to reduce latency!

Hey all,
I am looking to check the balance of an address I don't own (e.g. 1HtUGfbDcMzTeHWx2Dbgnhc6kYnj1Hp24i) from the daemon, is this possible using an existing command? I have tried getreceivedbyaddress and listreceivedbyaddress but they do not seem to work.
Thanks for your help!

this is a brand new setup, so I don't think there would be any transactions, unless I'm rebroadcasting. I'll send it though, might find something

Hey all,
I have just set up Bitcoin on a new server and for the last few hours (and after several resets) I am getting a message: "Warning: The network does not appear to fully agree! Some miners appear to be experiencing issues."
Blockchain does not download even though I have 20+ connections. Is this just me or is anyone else having this issue? Any recent changes I may not know about that would cause this?
I am on Debian Squeeze 7.1, strangely Litecoin is working fine

Hey everyone, I am looking at getting trading on coins-e.com however with my limited of knowledge of python, I would much rather use PHP to write my bot. Does anyone have some sort of coins-e.com PHP sample I could peruse? Or perhaps someone who knows both PHP and python? Smiley I have tried to convert the cryptsy sample (PHP), however I have yet to be successful! I would appreciate any help very much. coins-e.com (python sample): https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/api/documentation/cryptsy.com (PHP sample): https://www.cryptsy.com/pages/apiThank you! Maybe I should change the name of this topic to "Meatloaf would do anything for Bitcoin"

Perhaps you have one to share? Likely not I have heard many times that vortex trading is real profitable, however have yet to test for myself. I am looking to play around with a few bitcoin. Any ideas?

If you're really paranoid about it hopefully you know how to SSH tunnel, because anyone who wants to can see this!

Sorry to say, but it looks like you've been scammed Bitcoin has the same irreversible properties as cash, buyer beware. Hopefully it was not too hard a hit for you. Buying high-value items with bitcoin is a little silly since there is no buyer protection. Better to use a "seller-beware" form of payment (pp, cc) unless you are down with goods that fell off the truck, but then you got to trust the buyer. Not recommended without escrow at least!

It was through BitInstant, it is also possible to do it through bitcoin-otc.com , though it's a real PITA. You might be able to find someone on the forums, though that involves trust. I imagine you are trying to arbiter the 5-10% diff?
