After you fix this, I'm afraid that you'll have to re-send that massive notification email, because if I didn't get it, I bet a bunch of other people didn't either.

Oh, and for some reason the PM notifications aren't reaching me anymore....
I'm sending like 40,000 emails, so the forum might be getting flagged as a spam source. It's not even hitting my email Is this all PM notifications not working anymore, or jsut some recent ones? If it's just the recent ones there's probably a queue on all of the emails getting sent out. I hope that's the case, but we'll see.

Wassup? Did he abuse his power?
I didn't realize that the forums came back so quickly, so I didn't re-authenticate until now. Oh, and for some reason the PM notifications aren't reaching me anymore....

Bbxx, The Electric Monk, and jwzguy have never reported a post, so they have no right to complain about moderation.
I reported a few, but i got no response. We don't usually respond to reports. However, I just checked, and, all two reports you've sent in resulted in post deletion. Dont act like this Forum isnt Troll HQ - it is. The Moderators are either lazy or part of the trolling Game.
We're not lazy, we're just not interested in the topics on that forum. As a result, the only way we'll likely ever read something there is if you report it.

The real problem is that it isn't specific posts that are overly offensive. Some of them just wreck the conversation by posting more junk than discussion. This is a good example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41019.0I'm not sure at what point I would report that. 1 or 2 jokes, ok, but it's pages and pages, and most aren't even funny. You have to look hard for real contributions. My god that's a mess. I don't even know what to do with that at this point. When you want to report a derailed thread, report the post that it starts at and mention that the whole rest of the thread has issues. That's why I said we could use a regular mod in that section. I'd have to report every other post for trolling. I agree. While I do check in there every few days when I feel like deleting something, things are really out of hand. However, it'll be hard to find someone that doesn't have a bias toward any particular alternatitive cryptocurrencies that regularly posts there. We can't just make the various *coin developers mods because that'd be a mess. It'll be even harder to find someone that also meets the standards for being a mod.

It is up to the users not to engage or encourage shitstorms in the first place. If you are looking for nanny mods there are plenty of boards to choose from. The fact that moderation goes unnoticed just shows some maturity.
I don't like over moderation either but we can't talk about a client update or a logo design without wading though an ocean of insults and fluff. It's at the point where trolls are preventing any actual cryptocurrency related discussion. So we need someone to moderate. Do you know why we aren't doing anything about those threads? Because we aren't interested in the discussion and thus, never read it. That being said, we still give people plenty of leeway when we do read the post. Only one post has been reported on the entire forum in the last 24 hours, and that was for a post in Bitcoin discussion.

Doesn't really match what we're seeing here. Can we id anyone else who might be related by using the ip's that they used?
There is one other person, but I can't reveal that since there is no evidence that it belongs to this guy. Additionally, I suspect that there are more accounts. I saw many of the same patterns in other threads these guys posted in. If someone could look for those, that'd be great. Keep an eye on ultraimports. He doesn't match the pattern, but he might still be a regular scammer. It's hard to tell. Actually, he fits the pattern of what ThyDude did before 'someone' claimed he had a seizure and was taken to the hospital. Users with under 50 posts who decide to try to sell multiple items in a very short time frame make me very suspicious. Again, this thread is about this specific scammer, not scammers in general

Trust me, you aren't missing anything. That being said, we don't delete much in the first place. When we do delete something, and people care about it, they'll notice it and start yelling at us.
As always, all moderator actions can be appealed to theymos.
Was there anything specific that you were concerned about?

That doesn't appear likely. I've also investigated ensign_lee in that thread. i hope moderators keep in mind that users who are using the marketplace with good feedback could also be incahoots with scam accounts (make a scam account, or 2 scam accounts, or 10... etc, get a bunch of bitcoins from items you never send, then take this money and buy items from toher forum members on non scam account, continue building reputation and selling items bought with money from scamming)
repeat process until all your accounts are banned and you make new accounts with VPN/proxy service freely available like hidemyass.com
That is exactly what has been happening. Can we id anyone else who might be related by using the ip's that they used?

If the do what is the geographic location? Do you think they where using proxies or TOR?
That information hasn't been revealed to me yet. I'll be sure to post the IP addresses as soon as I know them.

Some things to note: This guy called out his other accounts as scammers when it was revealed that they were scammers. So even if someone has been scammed, that doesn't mean they can be trusted.
This guy purposely tries to lead us down the wrong trail. Take any personal information he's posted/given to you with a grain of salt.
