261  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Are you good with photoshop? - COMPETITION (of sorts) on: July 12, 2013, 05:37:16 AM

I looked into it further and your actions match that of our resident extortionist (who also hacks accounts) perfectly. It's enough that I'm even authorized to ban you for ban evasion. The only reason I haven't yet is because you amuse me.

What are you talking about? I think your wrong there maged, I do have alts but I'm not an extortionist, is there anyway I can IM you or something? Honestly, I can probably prove otherwise and I'm not lying or trolling here.
Us mods are very good at determining whether someone is an alt of someone who has been banned in the past (you can thank a guy who went by the name of Atlas a year or so back for that...). You're clearly our resident extortionist.
262  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Are you good with photoshop? - COMPETITION (of sorts) on: July 12, 2013, 05:14:05 AM
There is no evidence to say I'm a phisher

263  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Are you good with photoshop? - COMPETITION (of sorts) on: July 12, 2013, 05:02:12 AM
I want your honest opinion on what happened TODAY and not what either of us done in the past.
I don't think you can really split those two issues apart when it comes to releasing personal information. Assuming the accusations that you are one of our phishers is true (I haven't personally looked into it), personal information from other unrelated issues/transactions should be fair game.

Imagine that someone transacted with someone else who later turned out to be a scammer but didn't scam in that transaction. If the person has the scammer's address from that first legitimate transaction, should he release it? I'd say yes.
264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you good with photoshop? - COMPETITION (of sorts) on: July 12, 2013, 04:40:02 AM
I think mine turned out better than the other guy
I agree. Good job!

0.02 BTC sent.
265  Other / Meta / Re: Under "Marketplace" split "Computer Hardware" into mining/non-mining hardware. on: July 12, 2013, 04:28:11 AM
How about instead of splitting it, rename it to Mining Hardware and move the non-mining hardware out. Since GPUs will soon be worthless for mining and non-mining computer hardware likely doesn't have enough threads to make its own section, this makes the most sense.
266  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: the trust system and blackmail... on: July 11, 2013, 03:29:32 AM
So how do i get rid of this "red" trust??

I have had 2  offers from the buyer saying if i remove my bad trust rating he will then do the same for me, should i give in???
Well, you were eventually paid, so I don't see why you shouldn't give in. Everything turned out fine, so it might have just been a communication issue or other misunderstanding. However, if someone never made things right, I, personally, then would not remove the negative feedback.

Maybe an improvement would be when someone gets negative feedback, if they do not get any other negative feedback for a certain period of time (say 6 months), then that feedback no longer counts towards their trust rating. If they get a second negative feedback in that time, both permanently count towards their trust score.

This does not mean that people can scam once every 6 months and not affect their trust score, as obvious scams usually get negative feedback from multiple trusted members at once.
This is the case.

Also, in cases where there is clear blackmail or if you otherwise dispute someone's feedback, you can PM everyone that trusts the blackmailing user and ask them to stop trusting them.
267  Other / Meta / Re: wtf is wrong with this guy? on: July 11, 2013, 01:44:45 AM
He was hacked. Thanks for letting us know!
268  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cant send PM's on BTC-E? on: July 10, 2013, 11:27:28 PM
add BTC-e to skype. message them. they seem to reply faster then the ticket system

skype: btc-e.com

dont tell them passwords or emails. just your username

Reported for a fail of a scam attempt, anyway, anyone know the answer to my question?
Proper skype is btc-e.support
(see https://btc-e.com/news/81 )

That one might work too. I'm not familiar enough with btc-e to speculate on that point, though, so you should avoid it.
269  Other / Meta / Re: [SCAM] Ongoing attempt - Phishing link send around in PM, copy of the forum on: July 10, 2013, 11:23:18 PM
BadBear I really don't know what is so complicated on this... Several people have reported these two names, so this is not enough for you to act?
Sadly, no. Sad

Fortunately, there's enough public info available in this case for us to determine that they are an alt of someone who is banned, therefore we might be able to ban them for ban evasion.  Tongue
270  Other / Meta / Re: [SCAM] Ongoing attempt - Phishing link send around in PM, copy of the forum on: July 10, 2013, 04:41:38 AM
But OP was not banned for posting a phishing link
Alerting us and everyone else to the matter is an obvious exception.
271  Other / Meta / Re: [SCAM] Ongoing attempt - Phishing link send around in PM, copy of the forum on: July 10, 2013, 04:07:20 AM
Phishing links should be banned

They are. With extreme prejudice.
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sentiment in 2011 on: July 08, 2013, 11:55:21 PM
Thanks Maged, always good to hear your opinion. Smiley
You're welcome  Smiley

I'm not sure how long it will take, but generally I don't think we are going to reverse before around Halloween. Either way, before we make a bottom <50 on high volume (capitulation), we're not done yet in my view.
Agreed. Any heavy volume has always been on my short list of things that would invalidate my earlier prediction. Until then, I constantly have to force myself not to look too much at charts in order to avoid accidentally re-evaluating my prediction using emotion. That is why, although I did doubt myself earlier, I never actually changed my trading strategy.

We're tracing out yet another bull trap right now to clear off the negative sentiment that has built, and then we're ripe to go down and challenge 50 imo.
Agreed. Remember, in Bitcoin there is almost always a bounce when you hit areas of support/resistance.
273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sentiment in 2011 on: July 08, 2013, 10:55:20 PM
based on OP timeline, we should hit bottom in september.
We're moving much slower than last time. I've predicted in the past that this deflation from the bubble would last about 1 year from the pop, based on our slow progress. I might be willing to revise that to 8 months, but that's as far as I'd be willing to go right now.

We've got a long road ahead of us...
274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Too many new users posting FUD (part XVII) on: July 08, 2013, 10:46:10 PM
Serious question:  When people say "$150+ was unrealistic, obvious bubble, a boil on the face of Bitcoin that had to pop & something something pathos rant...  $30 is the right price!"  Why 30?  Is that a point at which 1BTC matches the combined value of SR?  I'm serious.  What makes 150 "too high" while 30's just right?  Seems pretty random.
Think about it this way: Since the start of 2013, how much fundamental growth has occurred? I'd suspect that 100% growth is pretty close. 1000%+, not so much...
275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Businesses and Developers, Let's Get Started! on: July 08, 2013, 12:35:17 AM
Just curious, does asking to be whitelisted actually work for anyone?

I have always wondered this myself. Embarrassed
It does, yes. I've personally whitelisted a few thousand people.
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Too many new users posting FUD (part XVII) on: July 06, 2013, 02:09:59 AM
The opposite was true was the price was bubbling. That's just how this works. That being said, this is actually a very good sign that we are nearing the bottom. Once it gets a little worse, I'll start re-adjusting my targets that I so far haven't touched since the bubble popped. If we hit my targets before then, all the better.
277  Other / Meta / Re: BTCOXYGEN'S ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HACKED on: June 30, 2013, 01:15:00 AM
Its not a Problem now since Maged banned my Other account until Theymos can look into it.

Ok, let me know if you want me to take this thread down.
Hi OldSport,

You can lock this thread now. Theymos solved the issue for me(Thanks Theymos).

Regards
BitcoinOxygen
Confirmed.

Thanks for creating this thread.
Double-confirmed.
278  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: June 29, 2013, 02:35:48 AM
I understand. By the way, so you don't get caught off-guard, I wanted to let you know that ban-evasion is a bannable offense, so I'll be obligated to IP-ban you if you post outside of this thread.
279  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for virus. Bug? on: June 29, 2013, 02:28:52 AM
I assume this was a glitch:

I got this message three hours or so ago, it's since disappeared.

Just putting this here for awareness of mods and admins.
Are you using Tor? Sometimes you will get caught in an IP ban because we didn't realize that the IP address was a Tor exit node.
280  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: June 29, 2013, 02:26:04 AM
It is, but we usually warn people before we ban them for this very reason.  Undecided
I was never warned Can I see list of rules?
These are the publicly posted rules:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=20333.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14356.0

However, we don't moderate based off of those rules to the letter. Instead, we moderate according to the spirit of those rules, so don't try playing lawyer on us. God knows we get enough of that.
Ok, I will talk to theymos and those threads say nothing about trolling or being banned, It only says "Will be removed?"
Again, those "guidelines" only set the mood for moderation on this forum. We won't play games with internet-lawyers. Your ban might not be reversed even though you weren't warned simply because I don't see many/any useful posts made by you (but I only skimmed, so I don't know for sure).
