961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2023, 02:09:03 AM
Lillard finally made his debut with the Bucks. They defeated the Lakers on the road by 11 points (108-97) for the Bucks. He played only 22 minutes and 23 seconds, but his production wasn't that impressive, with a 3-10 shooting performance for the whole game, which is not what we were expecting. I guess he is still adjusting to his new team, or maybe he hasn't taken it too seriously since it's just the preseason.

But there is some positive news from the team; the points are well-distributed, which means the ball movement is on point.

Lopez    11
Antetokounmpo 16
Payne 12
Connaughton   12
Portis 10
He ain't taking it seriously and I he didn't really play lots of minutes so there's no time to get hot. I guess he just throwed all those three pointers expecting them to sink.
I am glad Cam Payne found a new home. That guy had been trying so hard to get a good contract since he is really eager to play in the NBA and how I wish the Bucks will keep him. The multiple injuries that he suffered is what made him a less valuable player and then he was waived, tried 10-day contracts, played outside the league, tried G League, until the Suns took him in.
Indeed, it was a sad story but here he is now trying to make a name for himself. He actually did during his Suns' stint and all he need is to continue what he started.

22 minutes is already quite a lot of time, enough to see if the player is playing comfortably. However, in the case of Lillard, he seemed off with his 3-point shooting, which is uncharacteristic of him. It's still preseason, so it might not be the right time to conclude if he can blend well with the team. What I do know is that Lillard is a superstar, and he has a significant responsibility to make this team better. This way, Giannis's decision to leave the team after his contract may not come to fruition.

If others were playing well, why did Lillard struggle?

It could be due to chemistry issues.

But does this platform pay in crypto? We are discussing in a crypto forum, so it might only be relevant if they are paying in crypto; otherwise, it doesn't make sense to share that here.
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 12:57:27 PM
Drake's net worth is $260 Million. He lost $0.85 million. Probably he can afford to lose it. Not all days are good for gamblers. There are days he also won.

But if I am Drake and have money like this, I can not spend on gambling like this.
Drake can easily make that money through his endorsements so obviously, what he lose is just a small amount compared to his overall earnings. And I don’t think he never seen it coming before taking that decision, but since gambling is very unpredictable, his expectation at times might also gone the wrong way instead. But yes, if we are on his foot, we would have used that money to save and invest instead, than to shoot it all to gambling.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 15, 2023, 11:59:45 PM
You do what millions of people are doing..... you adapt your lifestyle towards the income that you receive. You first start by cutting the luxuries from your budget and strip it down to the bare necessities and then you find cheaper alternatives for the bare necessities.

You also look for ways to supplement your primary income, so that you can pay off most of your debt. Also try not to incur more debt, because that puts you in a worst situation.  Tongue
Yes. Live within your means. Do not live with life’s luxuries, but chose to live a simple life. If you do that, your life will be more at peace. And stay focus to yourself and your family, do not entertain destructions that will only lead you to ruin your set limits. And as much as possible, be grateful for what you have, but always encourage yourself to never limit yourself to only single skill and single job. Develop more skills so that you can also increase your sources of income. If that happens, you will never be drown into debt but will even make your life more meaningful and progressive.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: October 15, 2023, 11:35:43 PM
Children can gamble at an early age, but they need to be accompanied by their parents to avoid crossing their limits. But remember that they are still children and should not be introduced to gambling because they just want to play, and gambling is not a game for them. In the future, there may be a psychological impact on these children's growth and development because their road to adulthood is still long, and they still need guidance from their parents. That is why it is better for their parents not to introduce gambling to them and to introduce them to other things that are more useful for them at their age.
Gambling regulations have regulated the age limit permitted for gambling since children are at least 18 years old, so anyone who gambles under that age has violated the law set by the government without exception even though the child will be accompanied by their parents to gamble. You have explained the negative impact on children who are addicted to gambling, the negative data shows that the risk of underage children who are addicted to gambling is higher because they do not have self-control and they have to have their own income if they use money for betting.
Right. Anyone who gamble at a minor age will sure to be restricted from any legal gambling site, regardless if they have their parents to guide them. Otherwise, if the site go against with the law, it might be put into investigation until they will be restricted not to operate again.

However, gambling at the right age is still not enough to consider that he will be gambling responsibly. He should be oriented first on the risks of gambling, and how it can be beneficial when use as an entertainment and how it can ruin lives when used as a source of income.
966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most risky adventure you must avoid on: October 15, 2023, 10:59:15 PM
In the bitcoin market volatility range, basically the trading risk is down to 0 even though you read the possibility is very small. And all external factors can contribute to the risk, for example the security of the exchange itself. That's why the calculated risk is that all the money you put in is a total risk. In short, “trade what you can afford to lose”.
Bitcoin's volatility is so high and that makes it a very risky coin. The more the risk we face if we are doing trades. So I don't know if where you got that zero risk of yours. There are no zero risks when it comes to making money in the crypto world, and I think Bitcoin won't be volatile in its own if without the factors that surrounds it like for example; the demand of the public. The demand can also be affected by the news and others.

I think it's possible to calculate the risk but it may not be totally accurate. So that's right that in order to not regret just in case we lose all our allocated capital, it's better to just use the money that we can easily lose.
Well, no matter how good we are at a certain point, expect that the risks will always be there. Maybe you said there are zero risks because you chose to take calculated risks, but still risks are risks, and it will always be present until you overcome them.

Volatility is what makes trading more risky to take. But we should also know that if there’s no volatility, the market will be boring to trade as there will be no exciting price surge that really motivates to keep trading the best way we can.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 15, 2023, 10:34:39 PM
To stay safe when gambling is at our own discretion, if we gamble responsibly then we are going to see the very outcome of doing so, if we don't as well we are going to still get the outcome through the negative end, we should also gamble with all disciplinary caution in other for us not to get it done the wrong way, gambling should serve us nothing than fun and other advantages with benefits to us everytime.
Yes, that's why gambling must be responsible and wise because in order not to easily become addicted, everything must be controlled from the gambling budget or betting budget so that everything remains well controlled. If this is done with discipline it will certainly build a healthy mindset, gambling is for entertainment, not just for entertainment. money, let alone making gambling the main source of income.

This method is a safe way to keep gambling correctly so you don't lose a lot of money and get emotional easily, always make sure that you understand the risks because most gamblers when they feel like they are losing they don't want to accept the risk and the bitter reality of losing, it is important to educate yourself. yourself to gamble wisely and responsibly. why not
Right. It takes a wise and cautious gambler not to fall into gambling so badly. He should always know that gambling can never guarantee consistent profits, they can be winning and losing at some point, but if they are gambling in a wrong perspective, they will certainly keep losing the whole time. Set your own budget in betting, and never bet more than you can afford to lose. If you stick to that, you will never end up gambling so badly.
968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin In Bullish or Bearish Trend? on: October 15, 2023, 09:59:55 PM

So, what is your perspective: Do you believe we are currently in a bear market, or is this merely a manipulation to discourage some individuals from Bitcoin?

Bitcoin doesn’t have any clear trend for anyone to rule out. It nonsense to assume any trend while the price is clearly on the sideways of bullrun in short time frame(days) and bear market in long time frame(months). The price is currently on indecision phase so there’s no current trend here unless the price breaks any major support and resistance that is already a boundary for more than a month.

All this price action is clear the result of 2 sides of traders that has opposite belief. Positive trader believe that ETF approval and Bitcoin halving will boost the price while the other side are those still viewing the Bitcoin chart as bearish.
Whatever it is, we all know that eventually bitcoin will still end up with a bullish price. That is why we never get easily discouraged with its price fluctuations because at the end of the day, bitcoin will always settle with a new ATH. That’s how powerful bitcoin is, that even if the market seems bearish at times, but we all know that opportunities start with a bearish price. And here comes the bullish trend, the perfect time to reward ourselves from those opportunities we grab while the market is bearish.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: October 15, 2023, 09:36:36 PM
Good and valid point of view! Why would you let those young minds un-supervised, it's illogical since you fully understand the risk, you need to continue guiding them curiosity can lead them to deeper addiction if you mismanage to supervised their activities, as parents you have that responsibilities even your kids is already in their right age parenting doesn't mean that it's already stop.

Your guidance will always be the light for your children. Preparing them and continuously guiding them will give them better understanding and better judgement in terms of something like gambling, in case you allow them to learn or you open it up to them. You should not stop from monitoring to make sure that they are not engaging too much without any control.

Parents slack behind about their jobs of bringing up a child, we tend to cater for our children and provide the basic needs and wants for them. We're the light and our children copy every single thing we show them. Teaching our kids the procedures involving in gambling is totally wrong, instead educate and enlighten their minds on good opportunities life offers and how they can grown to become responsible to themselves. Teens should be guided at all times because they're growing into the maturity, in less than no time they would take good care of themselves and held unto responsibility because we can be taking care of them till their own.
We all know how gambling can affect the life of an individual person, especially if he’s into addiction. So as much as possible, we should not encourage our children to get attached with gambling. However, that does not mean that we can still control them in the future if they really want to engage in gambling. So the best approach is just to educate them the risks about gambling and make them understand that it should only serve as a source of entertainment, but never expect that it will be a sustainable source of living. That way, if ever they will gamble in the future, at least they are aware already the negative things about gambling.
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 15, 2023, 08:59:10 PM

You can get out of it if you want but I think it will be hard for you in old age. In my opinion, those who are attached to it from a young age may never come out of it in old age. Because it is a means of enjoyment as well as a means of earning money.

If someone started gambling at young age, it doesn't mean that they won't stop it. They would if they find reason to stop because nothing last forever and change is also constant.

I believe that most gamblers do gambling because they have no other financial means to survive whilst knowing that it is all about their luck. To hope on luck for financial resources is not sustainable and so if some gamblers have a sustainable income, they would leave gambling. Therefore, it means those who started gambling at young age can also leave, when they find better jobs, a greater percentage of gamblers engage in it because they lack finance or jobs.
Gamblers can actually leave gambling if they really want to. They will put an end to it once they will realized that gambling has never done something good in their lives except consistent losing. Or once they have gained sustainable source of income that even with the absence of gambling, they will sure to survive. Although the process might not be easy for addicted gamblers, but if they are determined to stop gambling, they will really find ways to do it.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 14, 2023, 10:56:21 PM
Online gambling sites still have the probability of holding bettors funds for one reason or another, so to me this does not seem like a solid reason why users should start using online gambling site.

And since no one was able to get in touch with that agent it’s very possible that the reason why he’s gone into hiding is different from that, so unless he’s found and he confessed that he truly had to hid because of the money then I will take this thread with a grain of salt.
Yes, it’s actually more risky to trust online gambling sites than to bet at a physical betting shop wherein you will personally meet the owner of the shop. At least, you know that shop has no ghost manager, unlike most of the online gambling sites that are only using random names to act as their gambling consultant or manager that we don’t even know if those people really exist or not. And because of that, our funds will be put at a high risk as they can hold it or run it anytime especially if we are winning at a consistent basis.
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: October 14, 2023, 10:36:25 PM
Does anyone here really utilize these online crypto casinos to place bets in bitcoin and have you had much luck with it? What have you found to give you the best odds in winning? Is there any skill involved in any of their games or is it all purely chance?

It probably depends on the game. For instance, when there's a high house edge, especially in games like roulette, it's pretty much considered a luck-based game. That means you don't need skills to win; you just have to be lucky.

Now, if you're thinking about expecting consistent wins, well, I'd say that's a bit delusional and unrealistic. Just because you experience a win doesn't mean you'll win the next time. Most of the time, the house edge ends up being the winner, and we're not on that side.
Couldn’t agree more. The house will always have an edge over the gamblers, and regardless if those games are luck-based or skill-based games, at the end of the day, we gamblers are still at loss while the house is always in profits. That’s how gambling games are originally designed, whether we like it or not, we will definitely spend our money and lose them eventually, as winning at some point does not guarantee consistent wins.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: October 14, 2023, 09:58:41 PM
There are a difference when you are playing to make money to gamble longer for fun .... and when you are gambling to hit that big jackpot to make a profit. A gambler that are playing for entertainment, knows that they they are going to lose all their money and they are good with that, because they have an entertainment budget that they can lose.

It is like you spending money from your entertainment budget to go watch movies.... you do not care for the money that you spend on the tickets, because you enjoyed the movie.  Cheesy
But we all know that majority of the gamblers only gamble just to make profits, regardless if they are still being entertained or not. That’s how greedy the gamblers are. The only difference is that some gamblers are able to manage their greed, while others have made their greed totally control theirselves. And when you are in the latter side, you know that you will definitely fall into gambling addiction that when not eagerly controlled, you will suffer from too much financial loss and even push you to do things out of your right thinking.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: October 14, 2023, 01:58:26 PM

But to be very honest It's not that easy ending the gambling just like that for that very day, it really demands great discipline to usually stick to the idea as there are occasions I get carried away by my own enthusiasm in the game and snob the thought of stopping since I have managed to get  a win.  It's as if I turn out to become my own obstacle to my subscribed idea. Lol.  Nevertheless, if we're able to keep to standards we have created  to guide our conduct, behavior and decisions on how we would handle our gambling life it will earn us a healthy gambling lifestyle.

That is what have lead to many loses for me on so many occasions because of the lack of being able to take a bow and walk aways for that day,  most challenging thing in this thing is when goi already win some amount in your games and you believe that if you risk more further you can win more,  this is the most dangerous thing to do at all time and we should be able to walk away no matter what position we are in the game,  and some of this time we need to really set a strong limits for ourselves in other to use this feature correctly.

But then gambling is all about luck and discipline because there is never a guarantee winning and you will not know the outcome of your next game,  so for that you must appreciate the one you already won and learn to walk away.
I believe in the saying that no risk, no gain, that even in gambling if you don’t risk betting, you will never win. However, the challenge in gambling is not only how to win, but also knowing when to stop when your losses have already outnumbered your winning profits. Although some gamblers can easily address to that, but for most of us, it’s actually hard to leave gambling especially when we are still in profits, or the other way around, trying to chase our losses in attempt to recover the money that was lost. But at the end of the day, the house always wins and gambling is always luck based so there’s no way that we can actually beat the casino and expect consistent wins.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: October 14, 2023, 01:24:15 PM
Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems.

People who have become addicted to gambling and think that they can generate income from gambling, are examples of people who will have damaged relationships, whether family, business, or partner. I often meet people like that. When they earn $500 in a month then they use almost 3/4 of their income to gamble. They hope their bet will be good several times over. Some people can use under 10% of their income to have fun, but the problem is that not everyone can control their desires so they don't get addicted.
In gambling, one should only bet 5% to 10% of their monthly income, if it goes above that limit, know that you are not making a wise decision. Although it’s hard for most of the gamblers to stick with their betting limit, but for you to play safe with gambling and to limit your losses as well, then gambling at a very small amount is always advisable. However, you can adjust your betting limit if you are winning big consistently. But always bet on the amount that you can always afford to lose.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 14, 2023, 01:46:19 AM
Consequences—that's what a gambler who doesn't gamble with the money they are willing to lose will face. Also, gambling at work might reduce the work performance of that employee or gambler, like you said, but I think it all depends on how the gambler handles their losses.

Let's get straight to the point – when you gamble at work, you're just not being a responsible employee. There are clear rules in place for everyone's benefit, and gambling at the workplace is a major no-no. It's a serious offense that could cost you your job. Companies have these rules in place to ensure that everyone is productive, and there's no second chance if you get caught. They already know that your performance at work would be beyond expectation when you're gambling on the clock.
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 01:08:53 AM
You know, it's a good idea to have a plan for passing on that seed phrase to someone you trust in case anything unexpected happens. Life is short, my friend, and you never know what might come your way. Sharing the wealth, so to speak, with those you care about while you're still here is a nice thought. As long as they're trustworthy and know how to handle crypto stuff, there shouldn't be any issues with that.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: October 13, 2023, 11:59:11 PM
~snip~
Often new gamblers get fooled by these bonuses and I see it was a working strategy from these scammers. Because what is in the mind of the gamblers is that they could make use of it in gambling. Well, indeed they can but the exchange is much regretting. We can say that deep research is more important than these attractive bonuses because legit casino sites never use this strategy to attract gamblers but instead, they use their reputation and legitimacy to gain attraction and trust.
It's frustrating when rookie players fall into this trap. These "too good to be true" freebies are honey traps from untrustworthy platforms. Healthy gambling involves starting in the appropriate position as well as playing the numbers. You must remember that reputable casinos value reputation over rapid cash. Their aim? Providing clean environment for fans. Wake up, beginners! You shouldn't risk your money for extra chips or spins. Do your study and choose sites that prioritize their image over questionable marketing. If anything sounds too good to be true, it probably is
Yes, DYOR could actually save you from all the site scams that will come your way. Without doing initial studies on the sites, it's certain that you will really fall on their traps, because for some beginner gamblers, their focus is to make quick profits until they become blinded by these too good to be true bonuses by scam sites.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: October 13, 2023, 11:36:00 PM
Less exposure to gambling means fewer losses or wins because you don't play much on it and you just gamble for fun because that is a low chance that you won't get addicted and will have full control of yourself. I also gamble rarely so I do belong to people who are not willing to risk money. It is true that there are times that you regret not spending much time gambling because of the possibility of winning but that kind of risk is good because I do prefer staying in my comfort zone when it comes to gambling than losing money.
Less exposure to gambling contrarily doesn't mean less loss because the few times you get exposed it's very possible you stake so Large than some one who consistently get exposed to the game, it's very possible someone could consistently stay exposed to the game and yet loose less than you who hardly get exposed to the casino often.

This is possibly because you risk so much than they do regardless of how often you visit the casino. But your only advantage is that you less prone to become addicted as compared to those who often visit the casino but then with time if you become too consistent visiting you can gradually build the addiction unknowingly to you, but then it's true less exposure can possibly mean less loss but doesn't guarantee wins aswell.
Less exposure will only mean less loss if you are also betting at a minimal capital. But if you bet one time big time, then expect that you will still end up with a huge loss even if the exposure is very less. So regardless if you are a full time or a part time gambler, your losses will only depend on your betting amount. You bet high, you lose big, and wins big as well. But if you bet low, you also lose and win at a small basis.
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: October 13, 2023, 10:59:42 PM
As far as I'm concerned, gambling isn't a platform to find honest people and shouldn't be an avenue to test the people's sincerity. The purpose of gambling is to get massive wins at the end of the day and that's why almost every gambler will do anything humanly possible to make sure he wins his gambles including cheating. No one would want to stake their hard earned money and never want to get a big reward at the end so that's why gamblers will always continue to manipulate their ways to victory.
We cheats either among ourselves or find means to hacked the system and goes against terms and conditions. We would do anything to gain profits from the system, because everything related to gambling is risks, and these gamblers can afford to take it inother to grab meaningful resources. You're right, gamblers doesn't have these honesty attributes, rather they seek for the benefits of themselves alone, having no concerns of the potential consequences on their colleagues. All gamblers faced the possible outcomes of their actions, be it positive or negative, all that matters is accumulating profits at the end of the day.
While it is true that cheating can be highly possible in gambling especially if you are in a constant loss, but that does not mean that we gamble to cheat so we can make big profits at the end of the day. If we see the casino is trying to rigged the games, then we should also do some tricks to keep us winning. However, reputable casinos will never chose to break their credibility that was built for long years, that’s why we should not worry thinking that they resort into cheating their players.
