any other reasons?

That they do not exist?

As of right now, yeah they don't.

Expected release of them are in October if I'm not mistaken.  Just trying to get the best starter rig I can so I can help grow the community.

I've just ordered a Jalapeno and the office girl told me that shipment could be around November.

We have our first voter who has not reached the age of ten yet. Together with the middle school, high school, and university students in the teens, Bitcoin is turning out to be a very young community.

The GEN-Ys are coming in now - Male, 20–29    - 39 (41.5%)

Update:
Bitcoins available for sale again.
We added OKPay as funding method.

Lovely service. I will add your btc purchase method on my site. It's useful for a Malaysian like me as the Western Union option is available in my city. Kudos.

3065  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When ASIC's come out and buying a GPU now.... on: August 23, 2012, 02:42:43 PM
So, I'm very new to this whole bitcoin thing - pretty amazed that I havent come across it sooner, its such a revolutionly thing, the whole cryptocurrency thing, not just bitcoin.

And the blockchain... well thats a whole other thing the way I see it.

Anyway, so I ordered a butterfly labs SC single thingy on pre-order, the way I see it, its not going to be worth me buying a new GPU (I have an Nvidia card atm so I'm only getting 44m/h Sad) in the meantime waiting for the BFL ASIC to come. So tempted to just get something around the £150 mark to do a bit of mining whilst I wait, not thinking so much about the profitibility aspect yet if I got a better GPU.... more of a computer upgrade?

What you guys think of the way I'm jusifying it to myself, as a computer upgrade? Surely I've got a couple of months to use it and get a few bitcoins before the BFL ASIC is delivered & the hashrate of the network shoots up and the reward drops in Dec? Or will I just be spending money for spending money sake? I heard the ATI's arent as good as the Nvidia for games (I only play games every now and then), something to do with pixel shaders?

Anyhow, its good to have yet another "hobby" to spend time on (my mrs loves the fact I've spent the last 3 weeks obssessing over bitcoins!)

I've order a Single SC too and you might want to checkout the Wiki if you plan to buy some GPUs : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

3070  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - Want a piece of SatoshiDICE? IPO this week before new site launch! on: August 22, 2012, 07:01:40 AM

The FAQ mentions about having to pay a 20 BTC amount to register your GPG key with them.

So does this mean that it would cost each person 20 BTC just to put in a bid for the shares?

I have less than 1 btc in my wallet. So I guess I will skip this IPO.

3073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOWTO: create a 100% secure wallet on: August 22, 2012, 05:55:01 AM
i never have understand why BlockChain.info is necessary, you can do everything without it...

BlockChain.info provides a valuable service. You don't have to wait for a blockchain to load, you just see what is happening live on BlockChain.info

BlockChain.info also allows me to do periodic backups (auto) to my google drive. nifty.
