friedcat: are you opening up franchising to shareholders in a general sense or is shipping and collateral too much of a pain for it?
82  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 22, 2013, 04:35:52 AM
Or you could be pumping up the price.

I am pumping the price, but I'm also telling the truth. That's the whole reason I posted. I realized my huge sell-offs were scaring people and causing a false prophecy sort of situation.

I don't want people thinking there's some mysterious board member or catastrophe and you have to run for the hills, when it's really just a high-school dropout with too much emotion in his trading.
83  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 22, 2013, 04:24:58 AM
Hi, I'm the whale.

No, I'm not a board member and I haven't been since April.

I was kind of concerned about having board membership earlier this year because if I did want to liquidate I didn't want to have some sort of insider trading bullshit pinned on me. Also I panic sold enough shares to lose board membership and regretted it later on.

Why was I liquidating?

  • I wanted to prepare my bitcoins for the massive BTCUSD bubble which is coming pretty soon and started getting anxious when ASICMINER shares were slowly dropping
  • Dividend sucked and I expected gigantic panic sells so I threw all my shares out there.

Why did I stop liquidating (for now)?

  • Someone who I think has a pretty informed position in ASICMINER bought a lot of shares from me and so, screw it, if I'm going to lose 25% in a day I might as well stick it out with this guy
  • Then I started getting a ton of PMs for buying shares at market price and realized I might want to wait before I sell too many more, as I was selling some shares way too low.
  • All my offers were being filled by big players, which is usually when you know you're making shitty trades.
  • friedcat has more things to announce, it's not like they planned ~6 months worth of stuff for nothing.

I'm not done selling obviously but I'm definitely done panicking.

If you're willing to reveal any of your selling rationale, I'd be curious to hear it.

240x ROI, also anticipating a bitcoin bubble soon so I'd like to seal in some of my profits when the hype starts up again. (this is quite a sad, predictable cycle)

I'm not done selling. friedcat has goodies coming as I discovered today when someone in particular decided to buy a shitload of shares from me.

I was digging in the market and found a lot of buyers at 2.7. My auction is closed as long as all the pending escrow goes through. Saving MM for another day! Love you!

All done for now as long as pending transfers go through!

Updated price.

Auction suspended, looks like 2.7 is the bottom of the market haha. Thank you to all buyers.

I'm the guy behind the 3559 share auction. I'm taking my auction down as I've found someone to sell to on commission for a longer period of time.
93  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 10:29:34 PM
Hi guys,

I can't figure out how to edit the original post, but I'm taking the auction down. Smiley

Thank everybody for your offers.
94  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 01:35:49 PM
While it not being my intention, I can see how you took my post to be snarky.
My apologies and best of luck with the auction.

My bad, and thanks.

No price set @why we buy them.

I'm paying below market price but not too significantly. I'm not in a rush to sell the shares so if you're not interested in making an offer, that's okay.
95  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 01:10:15 PM
It's always fascinating going through the post history of whales.
Selling BTC at 15 dollars each.
Wanting to sell AM shares for 1 BTC.
Even entering a raffle.

Any who, congrats on reaching MM level.
Don't spend it all in one place now.

It's almost like risk profiles change and the market adapts to those changes. Truly fascinating!
96  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 06:07:55 AM
I figured it was 2/3rd's of your 5000 shares

I don't have 5000 shares and I haven't been on the board since April.
97  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 05:51:43 AM
wow

Don't mean to scare anyone though, I've held these shares since the IPO and as of yesterday qualify for 15% capital gains tax rate. I'm only selling about 2/3 of the shares I own for now.
98  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 04:43:29 AM
Hi,how can I buy the shares from you? What's PM means ?and TXid means?

PM means private message. Click my name and hit "Send this member a personal message."

txid is just the ID of the transaction I last received dividends on to prove that I owned the claimed amount of dividends at the time of that dividend (last Wednesday).
99  Economy / Auctions / [AUCTION] 3559 ASICMINER shares (direct) on: August 18, 2013, 04:24:29 AM
Shares available: 3559
Minimum purchase: 100 shares (yes)
Price: Send me an offer. The more you buy, the cheaper I'll go.

  • To buy shares just PM me!
  • Don't worry about dividends, if I receive payment before dividends and friedcat has not transferred the shares to your address yet (possible), I will send the dividends for the shares you purchase.
  • Escrow through John K is fine, but you're paying his fees and you have to contact him to get that set up since I've never worked with him before.
  • I'll keep this thread updated with the amount of shares still available.

100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instant Bitcoin confirmation time (IDEA) on: August 05, 2013, 03:15:02 PM
The idea is bad. Bob creates a ton of double-spends and when the fidelity bond is distributed among them he retains most of what he used to defraud Alice. Also, who exactly is going to 'distribute' this reward? Who decides what double-spends to consider or how many?

A similar idea already exists and was proposed somewhere a month or two ago. Double-spends could be deterred by allowing the merchant to 'replace' the transaction with a transaction that gives miners 100% via fees. It then could not be replaced again, and Bob ultimately loses money (and maybe even reputation) as a result of the double-spend.
