Anyone know what she means by heat output will be 1000 watts? You take a 1000w heater and turn it on to maximum. That will be the heat produced by a Jupiter. Seriously, it has been said before that a Jupiter will consume 1000w. That is what Emilia wanted to say because a machine consuming 1000w and producing 1000w of heat is a heater From my understanding wattage is not a measure of heat output. Is there a way to convert this into BTU? I'm seeing estimates that a 1000w heater = ~3,400 BTU's/hour is that about right? 1KW = 3412 Btu/hr 12,000 Btu/hr = 1 ton of cooling Thank you. How can something that takes 1000w produce 1000w of heat? Shouldn't there be something lost in the conversion and/or the actual process of hashing? Almost all the power coming from the wall is converted to heat for such devices. The heat is liberating in various locations along the electrical path, but on a bulk basis it is effectively 100%. |

I've been doing all of my calculations based on 150 mil difficulty, and I'm all good.  But I'm anticipating 150 in late Sept. I'm guessing 60 mil difficulty by the end of August. Wow, Is this for real? You'll need like 1 Th/s to make any sort of $ unless the price of bitcoin goes up to $400. I'm kind of thinking that it's just to late to get in the mining game. You need like $40,000. Can anyone advise me and if it's a good Idea to get just a starter kit? I have one ordered and paid for but now I'm having second thoughts. Part of me thinks that these calculators are inaccurate to discourage new miners from starting. The price of bitcoin is of NO CONSEQUENCE to profitability. When are people going to understand this?? Price is a constant when it comes to ROI because it's a spot traded currency and you always have the option of buying and holding BTC instead of purchasing mining equipment. Preach it brother! |

I feel the need to chime in a moment here. I have been to VMC's offices and they are for
real. They have some some cases and power supplies received (ironically exactly the case
shown on their website which others were giving them grief about using "stock" photos).
They have a product flow layout plan which they shared and they were more than happy
to give us a tour.
I am a totally uninvolved third party (though we may offer some assistance in product flow
through their assembly plant if further requested).
Anyway, whether they can or cannot delivery ASIC chips of their own design is not for me
to say. I do, however, fully believe they intend to deliver and are not running a scam.

We received a lot of orders in our first day, so it will take some time for us to work through payment reconciliation and special cases. You can expect to receive a BitPay invoice over the next 24 - 48 hours if you indicated pay by bitcoin (use bank transfer pay method and make a note). BitPay's extension is buggy for this version of OpenCart. I'm getting it looked at. The site is still a little wonky too.
