181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: September 15, 2017, 04:08:02 AM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
I disagree because bitcoin would not be a course. I guess bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will just be studied more by other people. They are also going to be curious if how this tokens are made and what are the things we needed in able to make one. But maybe it could happen in the near future, that bitcoin would be a course but ofcourse the goverment should accept first bitcoin inside the country in order to make this things happen.

Tokens are a waste of time as it shows the founders have negative intentions most of the time since they're being greedy. Most people are greedy I guess because ICOs still exist. It won't end well for tokens, but BTC will have continued to innovate.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: September 15, 2017, 03:28:43 AM
How do you currently store your coins

Nowadays, they can be safely stored for days or weeks just by spending them. Tongue Cheesy Huh

For now i keep bitcoin using etherwallet and i think it will safe to store my coin their, so i trust them for now to storing my coins. Soon i will get that coin to save it to the bank for the future purpose.
For safety of my coins I was put it into trading sites then some of my bitcoin was in my wallet. Moreover I use multiple wallet to assure the security of my coins. I think it is better idea to keep my bitcoin safe.

I use cold storage and multiple devices with my seed stored in different locations with half written in either place. I also memorize them just to be sure.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: September 15, 2017, 03:22:46 AM
I save my bitcoin in online wallet with a very powerful and reliable security system. I suggest you also have to choose a wallet that is completely reliable to keep your bitcoin

I store mine in several phones and save the seed in several places. I write half the seed down and the other half on another piece of paper and give copies to trusted peers.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government backed currency on blockchains on: September 15, 2017, 02:57:16 AM
Is it possible to do government-backed currency mirroring on blockchain, so that it will at some point be possible to trade with USD on blockchain?

Absolutely it's possible and it's called DLT or private blockchains. Some countries have already created their own cryptocurrencies, but they will never have the security Bitcoin has.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: September 15, 2017, 02:54:55 AM
Bitcoin is already above $4000 and it even reached the $5000 price value but quickly drop and returned to $4000 due the a large sell-off of traders. In this past 2 years bitcoin has been insanely increasing with its crazy price leap in price value surpassing one of the trusted long term investment gold. It seems that people has notice bitcoin and its potential growth in the future, bitcoin has grown so much over the past years now it is one of the supported payment for online and offline business even institutional investors invested millions in bitcoin so bitcoin has fully mature from volatility.

Yes. Many people have realized Bitcoin's true potential as a store of value and have invested massively into it, resulting into a huge uptrend in price lately. However, these days the value of the pioneer cryptocurrency has been on constant decline, due to negative news all over mainstream media. Even though China's ICO ban and JPMorgan's CEO comments had a great influence over its price, it may be only temporary as it heads all the way to the moon in the future.

Big banks and governments have been afraid of Bitcoin's growth over the course of the year, trying to make anything within their power to stop it. But despite everything, I believe that this moment is a huge opportunity to buy Bitcoin as its price may jump back to its original levels, and head to new all time highs. Let's hope and see with the upcoming Bitcoin improvements, to help a positive effect over its value for the long term. For now, only time will tell what lies ahead for Bitcoin in the upcoming years. Just my opinion Smiley

Your opinion is totally correct! This is the most perfect answer I have come across for an explanation of current events all week. Well said, well said:)
186  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: September 08, 2017, 06:52:51 PM
If you own enough Bitcoin you definitely would not need a job because the money would continue to grow faster than any job ever could help it.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet in 2014: “Bitcoin is a mirage, stay away from it” on: September 08, 2017, 06:51:58 PM
Warren Buffet in 2014: “Bitcoin is a mirage, stay away from it”. Today Bitcoin Price Is Sevenfold Higher

One of the biggest risks of being successful is arrogance. Based on your prior successful endeavors, you tend to become more and more opinionated and try bolder and bolder scenarios. One of the most successful persons in this world, Warren Buffet, made such a bold claim in 2014:

I wouldn't say he is arrogant. Lots of people did not believe Bitcoin would ever become useful.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about software | CPU mining problem on: March 19, 2017, 12:46:04 PM
No, I'm pretty sure this can't happen.

Generally since they're EXE files and have a lot of power over your computer antiviruses won't like them.

But I didn't realise that there were antiviruses that just flat out stop you from doing things if you want to, can't you allow it somehow?

My Norton, it's legal license, does not accepting it anyhow. Only when I disable it.
Also,on my other PC's there is Microsoft's AV and it is the same. Have to turn it off and then it works.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question about software | CPU mining problem on: March 19, 2017, 12:30:43 PM
I am mining alt coins a long time.
Now I  have 4 PC's and on every PC I have antivirus software.
Problem I have is: any CPU mining software I try to use is being recognized as a virus or trojan and it cannot mine if I don't disable my AV. So I need to know if there is any software that I can use without disabling my AV?
Currently I am mining Monero (XMR) and I tried miner by W0lf, miner by LucasJones and miner from Minergate.
All 3 are recognized as trojans or virus software, so I can't mine. Any alternative? As I don't want to disable my AV every time I start mining. Last time I did, I had an intrusion even my firewall was ON.
190  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-17] Nearly $2 billion has been wiped off bitcoin’s value in three days on: March 19, 2017, 12:18:38 PM
We don't need to panic with those numbers, the media like to give a big headline attention for the people to read the article. The same thing happen when the bitcoin price increase in value!
Meaning? It is spreading fast, people getting IN. That's a good news. New incomers are making it more valued.
191  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Adsense Alternative? on: March 19, 2017, 10:23:31 AM
Are there advertisers working like Adsense? Are there adsense alternative companies that make payouts as bitcoins?
I want to make a profit from my ad revenue that I add to my site.

Which companies are reliable and make payments on time?

Mellow ads, bitmedia both are legit site, but you must have a good Alexa rank for your site. It will be impacting about your revenue. But bitmedia is more preferring for my personally.

Alexa will not help here a lot. Think about MOZ ranking.

193  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I BUY ALL BITCOINS!! on: March 19, 2017, 10:14:01 AM
I buy all your bitcoins!!

payment : bank
escrow: yes

pm me!!

Why?

Why don't you use any of big exchangers, as they offer banks too?
Why would anyone wait for money transfer as they can exchange instantly?
194  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Dedicated Server Hosting on: March 19, 2017, 10:11:25 AM

$25/Monthly

Can't you make a dozen of VPS's and sell cheap?
For example, you can split one server with VM on 4 or even 8 VPS and sell them like $4 monthly.
I used once a VPS (a VM) for a month for $4 and it was working nice, and it was like 2 core 2GB memory and 100GB hard drive. It's just an suggestion, as many ask for cheap.

198  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-03-13] CD: Bank of England: Digital Currencies are Similar to Commodities on: March 13, 2014, 09:33:15 PM
If you read the actual report, you'll see that's exactly (a part of) what they said:

A further category of innovations is digital currencies, such as
Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ripple. The key difference between these
and local currencies is that the exchange rate between digital
currencies and other currencies is not fixed. Digital currencies
are not at present widely used as a medium of exchange.
Instead, their popularity largely derives from their ability to
serve as an asset class. As such they may have more
conceptual similarities to commodities, such as gold, than
money. Digital currencies also differ from the other
technologies discussed so far in this box because they can be
created out of nothing, albeit at pre-determined rates. In
contrast, local currencies come into circulation only when
exchanged for pounds sterling. While the amount of money
held in e-money accounts or local currencies depends entirely
on demand, the supply of digital currencies is typically limited.

This paragraph is the only mention of digital currencies in the 10-page "introduction to money".
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A thesis about Bitcoin on: June 11, 2013, 09:36:29 PM
If you want to convince people of fairness, the simplest thing would be to point to a number outside of your control and use that as the decider, e.g. the Xth digit of the price of Y at time Z decides the winner. Wink
That. An even better seed would be the hash of the bitcoin block at a predetermined height in future. The technique proposed by BCmale is inherently insecure and is not appropriate for the crypto community.
