1  Economy / Economics / Re: Tether's market cap is huge! (usdt) on: December 20, 2020, 01:20:29 PM
I was scrolling through cmc and I didn't realise until now that tether has the 4th highest market cap at ~$20bn. This feels like a really high risk asset and that's probably reflected in it having a 5x market cap daily trading volume.

It's probably just something to take note of that if it isn't physically backed and we see massive volatile moves then don't trust it to peg the dollar especially if it keeps getting a higher and higher pool of funds that are thought to control it (its a shame a lot of sites use it in futures).
I think its huge trading volume caused by people using it as a transition coin between selling one asset and buying another one.
Perhaps, there are people who truly believe usdt is going to fall shortly and they're running away from it.
But I won't believe in such thing to be honest.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous teams on: November 02, 2020, 06:25:57 AM
Is it just me or what? I honestly dislike projects that have anonymous team when the project isn't a privacy Monero kinda thing, even few Privacy tokens have teams that aren't anonymous, shit I just feel like they are hidden for a purposes, some kinda easy getaway? What's your thought about this?
I guess any team can be anonymous if they will to hide their personal info, however I'd never invest in any anon project.
And I assume most if crypto investors are the same
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm scared of ethereum gas fee on: October 02, 2020, 08:39:05 AM
What if ether price goes up to more than $2000 dollars.. How will people or new cryptocurrency users be able to cope with the gas fee. As I can see so far, the current gas price has been giving people tough time. I remember when we used to use 2 gwei for gas price.
I don't think the Ethereum network congestion can reduce with time.
My guess and hope is - the price of eth will only get this big after eth2.0 update is out which should solve this fee issue going on right now.
Thus, its not going to be a problem then
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap on: September 12, 2020, 02:41:04 AM
did you guys try trading on it? i heard fees are insane. how much gas i pay for lets say 100$?
im fomo with bunch of shitcoins there as they grow insanely, i wanna catch some profit there before coins dump...
from my personal experience fees are always around $10-$20 when it comes to ETH - $any_token pair, so it makes more sense to order as much as you can so its more profitable
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Our chance to reset on: September 11, 2020, 02:04:38 AM
COVID-19 cases have been increasing. the government wanted to normalize the life of daily wagers and economy, therefore, it decided to ease lockdown and kept the economy before a life of people. the death of the main earner of the house sends remaining people of house in difficulties for a full generation. After lockdown has eased people venture into markets as if their life is no more important to them. in these hard times strict lockdown and provide aid to poor people but it is also the responsibility of each and every person of this nation to limit their desire of going out for some time, stay at home and follow government instruction.
I consider your words as cheerish and positive since you've said to stay at home - its all good, yet there is one but to your message.
You imply that government pushed people to sort of trade their life by working despite covid danger, you should really understand how delusional statement is.
People would've start to work no matter what govs would tell them to do anyway, because everyone needs to eat or feed family, but not anyone can afford to do it with working from home.
Basically, people were dying even during the lockdown, but they also were losing a lot of money meanwhile.
Since we didn't see the covid to stop in any nearest time its purely logical to start working again if you know its a matter of time before you will catch the virus yourself.
Government simply got rid of boundaries so people wouldn't be punished for something they just have to do.
6  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OWNR wallet. Buy, exchange and store crypto. Licensed service. on: September 11, 2020, 01:56:41 AM
Shitcoins are temporary, bitcoin is eternal. You don't neeed this sinful feature as staking, ownr wallet functionality is just enough
Even though I could agree that staking is not something particularly positive, there are so many good coins and features that one wallet could add.
I mean ownr didn't even add top 20 of cmc which are basically the vital thing, because top 20 contain >80% whole crypto market trading volume.
you're damn right they need to add those at least to be considered as usable for majority of crypt users.
it may appear as usable or promising for this particular forum members simply because we're mostly are crypto "believers" here, but as I said majority is not and you have to deserve place in the sun.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are only rich on spreadsheets on: August 27, 2020, 07:54:25 AM
Yes, that's what bounties these days make us. They show us big big rewards on their spreadsheets but the real values of those rewards they offer us are sometimes not even up to $5 on the market. I feel bounty hunters are only being used as baits by project owners to catch their investors virtually for free. What do you think guys ?
You were right on the spot even one year ago.
Now it has became even worse than that and we have nothing to do about it.
Projects are not capable of promotion themselves, but still can pay honest reward to bounty hunters, sad.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone waiting for v2.0 but... on: August 18, 2020, 07:23:25 AM
So I found out that Ethereum v2.0 will be delayed, again.
In a recent podcast Vitalik said that technical implementation is bringing difficulties. He also added that in terms of use, some applications may fail and some of them may work flawlessly.

Do you think that digging deeper into technical aspect the the team is facing unsolvable issues or at some point everything on the chain will work just fine, just as promised?
In my opinion they should not rush according to the pressure of the community but focus on the upcoming challenges and to delay it as much as needed.
That is an unpopular opinion, but I tend to agree.
Eth 2.0 is really awaited update and the pressure from the eth community and social media is real and they literally don't have a chance to fail.
So its more reasonable to wait a bit longer to pass all tests twice before really putting it out
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: August 03, 2020, 07:31:56 AM
Keep your shitcoins in your wallet, many thought WPP is dead and weeks ago it brings unexpected huge profits for those who hold them, shitcoins can still turn big one day, leaving them in your wallet won't do any damages
Agreed - holding shitcoin won't hurt nobody especially your wallet. So why would I sell them for 0,01USD or whatever, instead of just waiting because second strategy gives an opportunity to have any sufficient profit from it.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crytpo coin/tokens? on: July 28, 2020, 06:46:56 PM
It is risky to invest in crypto overall. Perhaps, every holding/investing involves some sort of risk, even holding in fiat (now we can see that usd can lose value overnight as well).
Whether or not to invest in new coins/tokens is up to you - I think its worth it if you make a lot of tiny investments in fresh projects.
This way you both support upcoming projects and give yourself a chance to have great profit in the future
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy suddenly recovering? on: July 16, 2020, 12:54:40 PM
US is witnessing the second wave of the pandemic recently with over 50k cases recorded recently in a day which goes a long way to tell us the economy recovery will be very difficult. Currently the US government is having a serious argument with the education board that has makes it clear that student will not resume schools. US economy recovery policy is flexible but there is currently no certainty that the economy will recover rapidly
If that is the case, then an economic recovery may take many years. During the last 4-5 days, the United States has reported anywhere between 60,000 to 70,000 cases per day. And remember that this count is even more than the highest daily count we had, even during the peak of the first wave (when states such as New York and New Jersey were affected in April-May).
It surely can may take several years to recover completely. That's some sad news for all of us. But for a matter of fact I think that US govs decision to open cities and start working again is a good one.
Otherwise people would get sick anyway, but our resources would die so quickly without any liquidity on the market.
There were other options, but I don't think they were better
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think covid-19 end in this year? on: July 02, 2020, 06:09:01 AM
Covid-19 could be end this year?
Its harmful aspects are against everyone's hands, where many highr (doctors, nurse) have died so what happened with to us?
So it's can finish in this year, what thinking your mind?
I think it could be put under strong control and/or be totally cured until the end of this year.
I know people were saying it won' take more than 3-4 months and here we are.
But overall I think it can't take more than 6-8 months to cure a damn corona
13  Economy / Economics / Re: world war 3 is coming ...do to coronavirus / economy ... on: June 27, 2020, 07:57:48 PM
world war 3 is coming ...do to coronavirus / economy ...
I have read something in facebook saying that this pandemic is already the world war 3. They also say that a particular country already won this battle and this country is also the country who created the virus. I do not know if I will believe in this thing coz I know that not everything in facebook is true. But the post I have read has something to say.
I do not believe China (or other country) actually developed the virus and/or did spread it on purpose.
Current times could be claimed as ww3 in terms of human/economical losses and overall community psychosis
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ethereum investment for future ?? on: June 17, 2020, 05:30:14 PM
Yes, you are right. ETH is a smart choice for many things that make it very attractive to have even though sometimes the price is fluktuatif. I hope to feel like a few years ago holding ethereum at the price of $ 1500 like you said, hopefully will it repeat.
I have a strong feeling that Ethereum will have another all-time high, the POS is the one that's going to help them achieved it, I don't see it not reaching another all-time high while Bitcoin, is going for another all-time high possibly this year, Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are the parameters if we are in a bull run.
I don't believe that ethereum could ever hit its all-time high again, but after the PoS I think its going to be less dependent on bitcoin and probably could even influence the bitcoin on its own
15  Economy / Economics / Re: If Recession Kicks In, How Will Bitcoin Perform? on: June 01, 2020, 08:11:27 AM
It will be difficult for all of us to guess how Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will behave. Whether they will pay attention to cryptocurrency or investors will not pay attention. Do they want to develop this topic in general, but I don’t think that everyone will forget about Bitcoin, it would be stupid.
this one is quite close to my opinion
I would add one thing - after 2008 recession bitcoin was innovative and came from unexplored internet.
Now we do live online and most of people are quite comfortable to hear such words as blockchain, mining, crypto, bitcoin and etc.
so It won't be as bullish as was before, but I won't believe it will fall because of current recession
time shows one pattern - people will to save their funds so they buy crypto instead of fiat
16  Economy / Economics / Re: harmonization of fiat and crypto on: May 20, 2020, 01:17:23 PM
I wonder why people hasn't started to think of acquiring more cryptocurrency now with the Coronavirus outbreak.
The global economy is in high recession and Fiat money is going to lose value.
Some European countries started to acquire cryptocurrency and blockchain even before this pandemic happened.
Afaik Germany already use some of cryptos as financial instruments and there is a list of banks who accepts crypto as it too.
So the progress is decent already.
And we should not forget about digital yuan which is going to come in the market (only local market I guess) very soon, like during this year. China in general is far way ahead of western countries in terms of crypto adoption
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It seems like it's the end for bounties on: May 06, 2020, 02:21:39 AM
Actually there are still some good bounties to join, we just need to search for it carefully.
Scam projects that running bounty campaigns are worst, because they scam 2 kind of peoples, their investors and their supporters.
That's the right thought - there are good ones, but surely enough you gotta be accurate.
referring to OP - I don't believe it is the end for bounties, but they are dying slowly.
They can be called as dead when no one will make a thread because of it
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New BitcoinTalk Clone? on: April 30, 2020, 09:52:24 PM
How is it a Bitcointalk clone? It's just one of your typical cryptocurrency forums; not every cryptocurrency forum is a Bitcointalk clone.
moreover bitcointalk wasn't the first one afaik, but it pulled the blanket on itself at some point so more and more users came along the way
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: April 23, 2020, 08:00:31 PM
the impact is indeed like this, we have to accept whatever happens, in my country also experienced this, money is hard to find, business is quiet, because lockdown, yes what else can, hopefully all recovered quickly  Sad
businesses are carrying the heaviest weight at the moment and they're trying to find the most comfortable spot under pressure of quarantine
I hope economy will recovery otherwise we won't meet any crypto growing up
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For newbies only on: April 09, 2020, 09:17:20 AM
I think most mobile wallets on google playstore are now safer, this issue of fake applications have been attended to last year when many are complaining about fake apps on playstore, I download on there and update my wallet apps from time to time
that is the problem - MOST of them are safe, but there still are dangerous ones.
as the user who is deep into crypto it won't be hard for me to understand which one is which.
However, as the name of thread goes - it is for newbies only
